Pit Stories: Destroying The $4k Espresso Machine

Following last week's hilarious invasion of the him-hers, today we actually return to the pit proper with a tale of moshing mayhem.

This week's story comes courtesy of the long-running American Head Charge, and it digs way back in time to an early U.S. tour from Slipknot. Anyone else who was at this show should be sure to give us a shoutout and let us know if you saw this in the comments!

American Head Charge tells the tale of venue destruction like this:

We opened up for Slipknot on their first show of their first headline tour at First Ave in Minniapolis MN. Our pit was mental. During the Slipknot show their pit was going full force. Sid stage dives and rides the pit house left to the bar. He jumps behind the bar and proceeds to destroy a brand new 4000 dollar imported Italian espresso machine. Less that cash at the end of the night and infuriating the clun, the Slipknot gig was a success. All the fans were online the next day comparing battle scars. The pit was gnarly.

The new American Head Charge album "Tango Umbrella" will be released on March 25th, 2016 via Napalm Records. Check out a teaser clip featuring snippets off all the album's tracks below, and you can also catch AHC live on an extensive U.S. tour this coming May and June. More...

"Ode To A Martyr" comes off impending EP "Ealdfaeder," set to drop on March 18th. Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments: "'Ode To A Martyr' is the more doom influenced black metal song of the EP. With a deep guttural and low tone harmony we unleash the pure black riffs with our usual ease.

"Thematically I bring forth the realities behind the annihilation of tradition, the symbiotic relationship a populace has with their hunting grounds and the loss of this relationship due to dogmatic and political rule. The title reflects to me those whom have gone far to push an idea or stance on socio-cultural aspects and that finally made great change liberating us of tyranny and oppression." More...

Subliminal Fear Releasing New Album

Subliminal Fear‘s new album is titled "Escape From Leviathan," with the album artwork available below. After 2 and a half years working in the studio, the third album consisting of 10 tracks is now ready. Inverse Records comments:

"They show several innovations about past musical style with a greater attention to melodies and with a modern sound. The early sound has evolved in a 'cyber metal' with extreme and melodic vocals, djent guitars, a huge groove and with electronic and industrial synth. Now, the band’s line-up is composed by 2 vocalists, to express better all potential of the new sound, also in live shows.

"The new music style of this Italian band mixes death metal, electronic music and catchy melodies, and it’s for lovers of Sybreed, Mnemic and Fear Factory. The third full length has been produced, mixed and mastered by Giuseppe Dentamaro and Subliminal Fear in Golem Dungeon Studios.

"All keyboards, samples and programming are been arranged by Botys Beezart (Godyva). The album’s artwork has been realized by Seth Siro Anton (Moonspell, Paradise Lost, Soilwork, Sybreed, Nile, Septicflesh), based on the lyrics concept: a futuristic and apocalyptic vision of the world and the society, inspired by movies like Terminator, Alien and Matrix.

"Furthermore the album will include also the participation of international guests:
Guillaume Bideau (Mnemic, One-Way Mirror), Jon Howard (Threat Signal, Arkaea) and Lawrence Mackrory (Darkane)." More...

Moonsorrows: Henri Sorvali comments: "WE DO NOT SERVE. Everyone in Moonsorrow has been a great Rotting Christ-fan since the early 90´s and with our version of this song we wanted not only to honor the band but also give the credit how much we have been influenced by them throughout our history. With our hails and deepest respect to our brothers in Hellas, we proudly present our interpretation of their creation: Non Serviam."

NilExistence Premieres New Song

Beware the ides of March, for crushing killer death metal awaits!

"Existence in Revelation" - the debut full studio album from NilExistence - will officially see release on March 25th, featuring a 12 page booklet filled with art by Seth Siro Anton.

Today we're launching an early salvo from the death metal assault with an exclusive premiere of the track "If Snakes Could Talk, My Words Would Slither." Listen in below!

Drummer/vocalist Kyle Kratzer (ex-Disfigured Dead) had this to say about the album title and lyrical content: "''Existence In Revelation' is based on the life experiences that have affected Dave Gruver (guitar/vocals) and myself during the writing period. The idea behind the title comes from how I personally felt when in the midst of a darker period."

He goes on to say, "When one finds himself in a 'revelation' type state, they have a few choices in which to handle the new information or realization they discovered; they may take the newly aquired knowledge and expand upon their problem/life, take nothing from the experience and brush it off, or stay stuck in the revelation itself (which is the route explored on the album.) As if in a bubble, one neither acts nor fails to act upon the new knowlegde, but instead remains within the revelation (bubble). The lyrics are based upon what I saw and learned within this revelation."

The new album was mixed/mastered at Hertz Studio (Behemoth, Decapitated, Vader) by the Wieslawski brothers in Poland. Pre-orders in various versions are available here and the track listing is as follows:

1. The Quietus
