A Light Within will release the "Body Matter" EP via Static Tension Recordings on July 7th, 2015. The label also had this to say about the release:
"Step into the gloom, feel its warm embrace. Close your eyes and let the ambience wash over you, the music unfolding into a wave of shoegazing post-metal. Distant, pained clean vocals appear in the haze, drawing the words from pages in a diary and turning them into a catharsis. The guitars flip from fragile melodies to thundering riffs at a moment’s notice, and the bass accentuates the deeper recesses of this stellar - in every way - sound. You are experiencing A Light Within, who have an upcoming EP entitled 'Body Matter.'
"Whether in the mournful dirge of 'World Through The Window' or the swell that engulfs the latter half of lead single 'Between Shores,' this Kansas City-based group embody the notion of emotionally charged music. Drawing comparisons to bands like Junius or Deftones, they nevertheless carve out a niche that is wholly their own within ambient post-metal."
The track listing is as follows:
1. Torn Page #21
2. Page #22 _No Charge
3. Page #51 _Between Shores
4. Page #29 _World Through the Window
5. Page #13 _To Have; To Hold

What a band Venom are and what an album, "Black Metal" is. It's a classic, pure and simple. It's credited with spawning an entire sub-genre of metal and was one of the most radical releases of its time, comparable only to Venom's first album, "Welcome To Hell." It cemented Venom's place as the band everyone had to hear and as time has passed, it's become even more vital to the collection of every headbanger. The album's title track is perhaps the most well known, a frenzied blast of energy with an unforgettable hook, but there were other staples on display too, such as regular set closer, "Countess Bathory," which has been covered countless times and is arguably one of the best structured songs on the record. "Buried Alive" was another standout track, notable for the sound of dirt being shoveled on to the microphone at the beginning, while "Leave Me In Hell" was another insanity driven slice of mania, but the song that really stood out to my impressionable, fifteen year old self, was the fifth song on the album, "Teacher's Pet."
The song, as the title crudely suggests, was a departure from the usual Satanic themes and ventured into the other territory Venom were partial to discussing; Sex. They'd dealt with this subject on their debut with, "Red Light Fever," but this time turned their attentions to the fantasies many a schoolboy had in their developing years, penning a tribute to that one hot teacher. Musically, the song is fabulous as well, bordering on camp with the guitar interpretation of "I'm the King of the Castle" before building into another fantastic thrill ride with a catchy chourus. It's one of the most fun songs on the album, as clearly evidenced by the mid-song lapse into the classic English anthem, "Get Ya Tits Out for the Lads," and as a teen listener, was a cheeky number that you had to play for your friends. It's still a good laugh today, as well as being a generally great, fast metal song, and a snapshot of what made Venom so loved. More...

Haste The Day has leaked a new track this morning entitled “World.” This is the first new Haste The Day material to surface in five years - listen in below. “World” is also the first taste of the band’s forthcoming album "Coward," due to be released via Solid State Records on May 19th.
Speaking on the song, Stephen Keech says “Lyrically this song is about the beauty that comes with loving a world that doesn't always deserve love. It is a challenge to myself to put the needs of others before my own.”
Haste The Day existed for ten years before being put to rest in 2011. Initially reuniting for one anniversary show in the band's hometown of Indianapolis, Haste The Day's musical chemistry was re-ignited. Deciding to crowd fund album costs via Indiegogo and self-record, over $140,000 was raised within a month.
"Coward" features contributions from all Haste The Day members including vocal duties split by Jimmy Ryan (2002-2005) and Keech. See the band live on these dates:

Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma are lynchpins of New York hardcore and their band Agnostic Front played a key role in defining, shaping, and establishing the cultural code of conduct for the still-thriving movement.
Film and music video director Ian McFarland is crafting an intimate portrait of these two men, dubbed "The Godfathers of Hardcore."
Miret and Stigma have remained close friends through great adversity that often threatened their very existence. Today, Roger and Vinnie are primed and reaching into 50's and 60's, balancing jobs and families, in addition to an upcoming touring schedule that will take them all over the world.
"The Godfathers of Hardcore" will serve as an up-close-and-personal look into the lives of these different yet inseparable musical icons, and in the process will illustrate the tenacity, optimism, and enthusiasm with which they both approach their band to this day. The movie is already in the midst of production and features intimate footage captured by McFarland over the past several years, but to do the story the greatest justice possible, director Ian McFarland is reaching out to the band’s diehard fans, offering them a chance to join in supporting the film via a new Kickstarter campaign here.
The Kickstarter campaign will take place over the course of the next few weeks (ending on May 17th) and features unique incentives such as an ESP Viper-100FM STBLK Guitar with backplate signed by Agnostic Front, custom Vinnie Stigma ringtones, a limited edition Agnostic Front skate deck, a personal Lower East Side tour with Vinnie Stigma, and even a "Kickstarter Executive Producer" credit on the film. The goal is to raise $15,000, and afterwards, some amazing stretch goals will be added. More...

2K and Turtle Rock Studios released a new video feature for Evolve, the 4v1 shooter featuring four hunters cooperatively fighting to take down a single-player controlled monster.
In "Behemoth Plays Behemoth," bassist and backing vocalist Orion from Metal Blade Records recording artist Behemoth is joined by George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, lead vocalist for Metal Blade's Cannibal Corpse, as they visit 2K Headquarters for an exclusive look at Evolve's newest and largest playable monster character.
Throughout the course of gameplay, Orion and George quickly grasp the sheer enormity and power of the former's band namesake monster. Behemoth measures twice the width of another fellow monster - Goliath - and is literally as big as the game's developmental limitations. In addition, they experience Behemoth as a hulking and tank-like monster that can absorb extensive damage before morphing into a giant, destructive boulder and rolling around his environment for quick traversal - an uncanny resemblance to the enveloping and magnetic experience fans routinely have at their live shows.
Evolve is available now for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Check out the new video clip below. More...

Following the premature demise of The Oath, vocalist Johanna Sadonis formed Lucifer. Whilst The Oath was a much-celebrated band, she wasted no time in creating a new beast to go beyond previous limitations. That beast is Lucifer and this is their stunning debut album titled Lucifer I, which drops on June 16th via Rise Above Records.
Having released their debut single, "Anubis" earlier in 2015, there has been a significant buzz generating around Lucifer. With the addition of Garry Jennings (ex-Cathedral/Death Penalty) as co-songwriter and studio guitarist, Lucifer have moved forward into a realm of rock music which is very rare and very special in this time. "Genuine, classic, heavy, studied and passionate" are just a few words that instantly spring to mind upon first listen. Lucifer's instinctive take on the very soul of early heavy metal is the electrified essence of rock'n'roll at its nascent purest. This is Magic Rock - heartfelt and holistic.
Eschewing the now well-worn clichés of the 'occult-rock explosion' in favour of a truthful and tempestuous re-imagining of classic 70s proto-metal and turbocharged blues, the eight songs on this band's debut album crackle and fizz with burgeoning energy and the compelling conviction of music made for all the right reasons.
Although still firmly rooted in the fertile soil first cultivated by Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Blue Oyster Cult, Lucifer exists in a proudly liberated and limitless sonic realm, where the heaviest blues rock is a mere starting point for the band's skyward creative trajectory.
The track list for "Lucifer I" is:
2. Purple Pyramid
5. White Mountain
6. Morning Star
7. Total Eclipse
8. A Grave For Each One of Us More...
Long running Swiss cult death/doom act Excruciation has signed a worldwide deal with Wormholedeath/Aural Music for the release of their upcoming new album "[C]rust", which is targeted for a 2016 release date. The fourth full length LP and follow up to 2014's "[G]host" will be produced by Wahoomi Corvi.
The band will enter the studio on August 17, 2015 and is currently busy with the songwriting. "[C]rust" will represent the band's deeper step into darkness and will be released in collaboration with the bands own label Auric Records. On the album, Excruciation will forge their versatile influences ranging from 80s Dark Wave and Crustcore to oldschool Black and Doom Metal into a new piece of extreme metal.
The band commented: "Excruciation is proud to announce their signing with WormholeDeath Records, based in Italy. They made us an offer we couldn’t refuse… Though good experiences we've made in releasing on our own label Auric Records, we’re happy to benefit of an experienced and well-established label with broad international connections to spread Doom, Death and Mayhem all over the world. We’re looking forward to our collaboration on the coming record [C]RUST!" More...
Australian act A Breach of Silence released a new music video for the track "Vultures (Is There Anybody Out There)." The song appears on the latest album "The Darkest Road," which is available via Eclipse Records.
“Vultures is a song about the struggles in life, and fighting through them”, states lead vocalist Rhys Flannery. “Whenever you feel like you are alone, regardless of how great the pressure, there’s always someone out there that’s willing to help. As hard as it may be, you’ve just got to search for them… there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.” Guitarist Mat Cosgrove continues, “We talked about one of us having a real bad day, and someone worse off had helped us out of this situation and it really put things into perspective… So we came up with the story line of a homeless person who could easily take the wallet out of necessity to survive, instead goes out of his way to find the owner, and then saves his life.”
The band enlisted Col Cadell to direct, who had also done their previous music video for the title track, The Darkest Road. “Something I wanted to do with Vultures, was take the band in a much darker direction artistically, using color palette’s that evoke a cold intimacy while still painting a realistic world. Our shoot location was Fortitude Valley located in Brisbane, Australia. We used low shot angles, with the sky as a background to evoke a feeling of openness, and used high angle shots at the end when the homeless man rescues the businessman” states Col. More...
