"Fertile," the second album from dynamic Italian trio Stearica, is now just a week from its release through UK-based Monotreme Records.
The album is now playing in its glorious entirety. Listen to the full release below, courtesy of Burning Ambulance. The following press release was also issued:
"Stearica's intense sophomore album, 'Fertile,' was heavily inspired by the Arab Spring and uprising of Barcelona's Indignants, arising against their governing bodies in search of true freedom. Taking the band's generally instrumental soundscape movements to entirely new levels of creativity, Fertile incorporates several new approaches for the band through life-affirming experiments with instrumentation as well as atypical vocal passages, with guest contributions from Colin Stetson (Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver) and Scott McCloud (Girls Against Boys) and Ryan Patterson (Coliseum).
"Set to arise alongside new life during this Spring season, 'Fertile' marks not only fresh expansion for Stearica as a unit, the album is meant to inspire new growth in the hearts and minds of all free-thinking individuals, with a positive vibe meant to bring forth organic and revolutionary change for the betterment of all beings who inhabit this breathing surface we all reside upon."
Monotreme Records will release "Fertile" worldwide on April 13th. See the band live supporting the release on these dates:

In less than two weeks, Ides Of Gemini will uncork two new ethereal sound conjurings in the form of "Cathage" and "Strange Fruit." Set for release via Magic Bullet Records on April 18th, 2015 in honor of Record Store Day, the tracks will come available in digital and seven-inch formats.
The lingering tones of "Cathage" inhabit Side A. It begins with a doomy, acoustic summoning of the spirits of a barren world, written and recorded during the "Old World New Wave" (Neurot/Sige) sessions.
Side B is one of an emotionally stirring cover of "Strange Fruit." Written as a poem by Abel Meeropol in 1937, and set to music famously by Billie Holiday in 1939, the song stems from Meeropol's original protest piece against the racial lynchings that marred the early 20th century in America.
All copies are pressed on limited edition, one-time-only runs of clear and black vinyl. The title goes immediately out of print after Record Store Day. Exclusive cover art by Jas Helena rounds out this dauntingly monolithic slab of wax. More...

Michael Denner and Hank Shermann, the original guitar players of Mercyful Fate's "Melissa" and "Don't Break the Oath" albums, have created a new EP together titled "Satan's Tomb," coming in 2015 on Metal Blade Records.
These songs were crafted with the Mercyful Fate worldwide legion of fans at the forefront of their collective minds. From the first riff to the last wail, one cannot help but feel the magic newly recaptured once again.
The band, which is simply called Denner / Shermann, calls into service a formidable group of allies who were capable of helping realize this menagerie of malice. Shermann first called upon Marc Grabowski (Demonica) to handle the bass guitar, followed by the only drummer that made sense for many obvious aspects, the one known as Snowy Shaw (Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Dream Evil).
Many voices were considered, but fate lead them to Sean Peck (Cage and Death Dealer). He was not only a fan but had the versatile vocal skills to make the new songs come to life like their fans would expect.
Hank Shermann comments: "We have been writing and recording with an incredible line up of musicians and the fans are in for a dark, classic, heavy metal treat for sure. We wanted to get back to the essence of what we created back in the early 80s. The music inevitably sounds like you would hope it to be, fans of our early work should be very excited."
Metal Blade's Brian Slagel adds: "I am super excited to welcome Denner / Shermann to the Metal Blade family. I have known Michael and Hank for more than 25 years. I am honored to be able to work with these two legendary musicians. Really excited to work with all the guys on this exciting new band!" More...

The live abrasions come in advance of the band's soon-to-be-unleashed "Dead Set" full-length. The band comments:
"We're half way through this wild circus tour with our brothers from Weedeater! It's been one hell of a ride so far and King Parrot now has fourteen shows in a row through Central America, the East Coast and finishing up down in New Orleans at the Blue Nile on Monday April 20th for our Housecore Records signing party. Following the recent release of the "Suspended Over the Abyss" single from upcoming album "Entheogen," Costa Rica’s Corpse Garden has now recorded an official playthrough for the single. Check it out below.
With "Entheogen," Corpse Garden will unleash a thirteen-track death metal focused opus, that the band states is something completely different from what was offered before with debut release "Burnt By the Light" .
Vocalist Felipe Tencio elaborates: “The band went through several line up changes [in 2013], Federico [Guitars] and Erick [Drums] are the only remaining members of the Burnt By The Light sessions so it's basically a new band with new ideas and a different purpose. 'Entheogen' shows the new identity of the sound and the new message we are trying to get across. It's by far a more elaborate, complex and dynamic album in terms of musicianship, concept and song structures.”
The "Entheogen" artwork was handled by Alexander L.Brown of BNB Illustration and Design, while the album was recorded with Juan Pablo Calvo at Bushido Audio Productions, in Cartago, Costa Rica. "Entheogen" is set for release this May 15th through both Russia’s Satanath Records and Germany’s RTM Productions with North American distribution through Sevared. More...

“The name 'Indestructible' was chosen because we all felt that we have been through a lot in our long careers and what better way to say 'Hey, I'm still Here' than by giving the cd a BOLD title,” says singer James Christian.
"Indestructible" features eleven brand new songs, which masterfully combines heavy metal and melodic hard rock. “The album is heavier in the beginning, but we love songs that are both Melodic and Heavy” continues Christian, “and the idea was to fill the best of both on one cd without sounding like two different bands. I think we have accomplished that. A good example would be the song 'Pillar of Salt' especially gives a good representation of how the new album sounds: a combination of heavy, melodic, and thoughtful lyrics. It’s rather rare at this day and age, that you get an album that’s all killer and no filler and I am not using that expression lightly. ‘Fated To Burn‘ is a must have album.
