Ghost Key Signs With No Sleep

Huntington Beach independent label No Sleep Records has announced the signing of emerging Peoria, IL hardcore band Ghost Key.

"We are so stoked to sign with No Sleep,” says guitarist Chris Bayless. “They have been putting out some of our favorite records for years and the fact that we get to start slapping that cup of coffee on our music is the coolest thing in the world."

“We are all super stoked on working with Ghost Key,” adds No Sleep Records president Chris Hansen. “When we first heard some songs from them, we all instantly fell in love. Look for a lots to come from these guys in the near future.”

Hailing from the Midwest, Ghost Key formed in 2011 with the simple goal to create music that people could both enjoy and relate to. Since its beginning, the band has fully embraced a DIY work ethic that’s included relentless touring, most recently with Beartooth, and the self-release of debut album, "Winter," which later received a re-release with two breakout tracks, “3:33” and “Attention to Detail,” via Rooftop Records.

Now, Austin O’Brien (vocals), Chris Bayless (guitar), Stephen Wegman (guitar), Ryan Murphy (bass) and Andrew Buchanan (drums) are ready to begin the next chapter of their career with No Sleep Records. The band recently recorded a new EP that’s due out later this year. Catch the band live:

Emmure Cancels Upcoming Shows

Following torn vocal chord issues that occurred with front man Frankie Palmeri back in February, Emmure is now cancelling upcoming tour dates. The band commetns:

"Due to unfortunate circumstances, we must cancel our upcoming EU/UK touring plans with Caliban, Thy Art Is Murder and Sworn In due to Frankie’s still yet to be determined healing process. He has severe acute and chronic reflux laryngitis and a weak (partially paralyzed) left vocal cord.

"We appreciate the support we received on the last tour with Suicide Silence in Frankie’s absence, at this time we are going to put our focus towards writing a new album while he recovers and we hope to see you all very soon."

Antiversum Releasing Demo Album

Invictus Productions proudly presents the debut demo of yet another newcomer who'll soon be talked about far and wide: Antiversum's "Total Vacuum" on April 20th. The label comments:

"Hailing from Switzerland, Antiversum are a shadowy entity who create an even-more-shadowy sound. Ever aptly titled and presented on digipack CD, 'Total Vacuum' comprises four (mostly) epic-length tracks which devour the listener whole - and the listener's soul.

"Not for them the easy compartmentalization of 'black/death metal;' granted, the might 'n' muscle of sepulchral death metal is imbued with the obsidian atmosphere of ancient black metal, but those genres simply serve as vessels for Antiversum to transit their plague-ridden ruminations. Morphed together with alchemical magick, Total Vacuum becomes its namesake and offers an experience that is both immersive and immense. Here begins the end..."

Kult Ov Azazel Releasing Split With Wormreich

Kult Ov Azazel had been working on an upcoming split release with Wormreich before that band and Khaotika were in a fatal van crash. Now Kult Of Azazel has issued the following update about the split continuing as planned:

"We'll begin recording our portion of the Kult ov Azazel/Wormreich split that was already in the pipeline before the accident happened hopefully in the next few weeks.

"Our songs that will appear have already been demo'd out and at this point we just need to get Azagkur in to do drum tracking for the three songs one which will feature Vulk from Wormreich on bass. The Wormreich portion was for the most part recorded before all this happened.

"This MUST be done to honor the memory of Vathron and Vidarr not to mention we must finish what has already been started. AMSG!"
