Hamerex Parts Ways With Bassist
Hamerex has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with bassist Simon Brooks:
"Though he's only been with us a short while, we regret to inform you all that Simon has decided to leave the band. It's very disappointing for all of us as we were all working well together and having a good time writing the new album.
"His decision to leave wasn't an easy one, but due to pressures with work and things in his personal life make it harder for him to commit to the band as much as he'd like to. We're all on good terms and we all wish each other the best of luck for the future.
"Me, Andy and Daz will continue to work on writing the third album, and if anyone's interested in trying out as the bassist, then please don't hesitate to send us a message. In the meantime, check out 'Desert Skies' below from Simon's only gig with us back in March."
Hamerex recently released new EP "The Last Ride" (available for streaming over here), and is now working on a new full-length release. More...

Chainsheart Signs With Pitch Black
Pitch Black Records is pleased to announce the recruitment of Cyprus band Chainsheart, with the label issuing this statement:
"Chainsheart is a classic hard rock / heavy metal band from Cyprus comprised of seasoned musicians, all of whom are extremely passionate rockers and this is clearly evident throughout their music and performances.
"The band began in 2011 as the solo project of vocalist Yiannis Savva who soon after decided to form a band, thus Chainsheart was born.
"In late 2012 the band released a first album ('Just Another Day') as a self-release. A purely hard rock album, it received positive feedback from press and media. The band however underwent several line-up changes and has finally found its true sound and style – classic heavy metal.
"Chainsheart is now back with second album, titled 'Leaving Planet Hell,' an album filled with anthemic heavy metal tunes, melodic lines, energy and passion and of course that somewhat 'old-school' sound reminiscent of the good old days! Make no mistakes here; fists will be up high while headbanging will be non-stop upon listening to this album!"
New album “Leaving Planet Hell” features guest keyboards by Bob Katsionis (Firewind) and a guest vocal performance by Nicholas Leptos (Warlord, Arrayan Path). The album was mixed by Bob Katsionis at his own Sound Symmetry Studio in Athens, Greece. It will be out on June 5th (EU) / June 8th (UK) / June 9th (US) on CD and digital formats. Last month, Holy Grail triumphantly returned to the stage with a live performance at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California during the home opener of the L.A. Kiss arena football team. The band expects to announce Summer tour dates in the coming weeks.

Tenacity Music Launches "Metal For Nepal" Tour
Tenacity Music recently launched the project Metal For Nepal with the objective of collecting funds to help the Nepalese people affected by the earthquake of April 25th.
The main goal is to organize a series of metal shows in Switzerland, France, and possibly other countries in Europe and raise funds from ticket sales/donations that will be distributed to several humanitarian organizations currently helping the victims of the earthquake.
Randy Schaller, Tenacity Music’s manager and the creator of this project, issued the following statement:
“Today it isn't as a musician, booker, concert organizer or manager that I'm writing to you, but as a friend of Nepal. I discovered this beautiful country in 2010 while playing at the Silence Festival, the first Nepalese open air festival. Since then, I have kept very good relations with the local community, among them the biggest metal band of the country, Underside, with whom we still collaborate regularly (Swiss tour in 2012 and European tour in 2015). To provide assistance to Nepal, we just launched the initiative Metal For Nepal. A music tour whose goal is to raise funds in order to help the country to rebuild itself.
“The idea is to organize/promote a series of metal concerts all over Switzerland (and even in France) between May and June 2015. The bands would perform for free and all the revenues generated would be donated to a humanitarian organization that will use this money to help people on-site.
"In a few days, we already have more than 3,500 followers on our Facebook page, more than 100 Swiss bands are motivated by this project (in addition to Tenacity Music's roster) and several professionals are ready to do their part.
"We therefore call for your solidarity! And hope you can find a date in your agenda to participate in this good cause and accommodate one of our humanitarian events. Or help in a different way.” More...

Death Angel Releasing "A Thrashumentary"
The San Francisco Bay Area thrash veterans from Death Angel are pleased to announce the release of a new thrashumentary.
The DVD release was directed, shot, and edited by Tommy Jones of Videohammer Studios. It will be released July 24th via Nuclear Blast Records. The release will also include a full live album entitled "The Bay Calls For Blood."
“It is with great excitement that I finally get to share this Death Angel news,” comments vocalist Mark Osegueda. “'A Thrashumentary' is finally complete and ready for release this summer! The film tells the story of Death Angel from our inception to the present day. With many guest appearances by some of our peers and contemporaries who happen to be some of the most respected players in the genre. It covers the highs, lows and highs again of the band and the thrash metal movement. A must have for any metal fan! The even better news is 'A Thrashumentary' will be accompanied by an official live album called 'The Bay Calls For Blood,' which was recorded in our hometown of San Francisco! We are so proud of this recording and performance that we decided to release it as a live Death Angel record! Did I say record? Damn right, I did! Because it will also be available separately on limited edition vinyl for all the true metal fans! Bleed for it!”
Adds director Tommy Jones: “What originally started out as a live music video for 'River Of Rapture' in 2010, has evolved into a full-scale historical documentary on the band and the thrash scene. This is the first time the band in its current lineup has been able to collectively sit down, and tell the story of how Death Angel came to be Mark, Rob, Ted, Will and Damien. Mixed with live footage I shot in the Philippines, Asia, Germany, Europe and North America, this project was a blast to produce. It became a true evolution from what we originally set out to do, while solidifying a lifelong friendship. I can't wait for the Death Angel fans worldwide to be able to sit back and throw on 'A Thrashumentary' and hear/see the bands story straight from their mouths. It's a project I'm very proud of. It’s also something I would have never envisioned doing when I was a kid taking my guitar to my teacher to learn the solo of 'Bored'! Thrash on!“ More...
