After cutting a live set early last night in New Jersey, Godsmack has issued the following statement about the situation:
"At the conclusion of Tuesday nights performance by Godsmack in Montclair NJ, just prior to the encore, Sully came off stage experiencing a shortness of breath and dizziness.
"Out of an abundance of caution it was decided to have him be further evaluated by medical personnel off site and end the performance prior to the completion of the encore. Godsmack regrets having to end their performance prior to the 3 song encore, and hope that everyone will understand the reasoning for doing so given the situation.
"Sully had recently been battling a virus that likely contributed to the situation. Fortunately, he was evaluated and cleared to perform and is able to continue with the tour including the show tonight in Rochester NY. Thank you so much to those who reached out in concern and understanding." More...

Ebonillumini's "Arktos" LP is coming through Wickerman Recordings on June 1st, 2015. The cover artwork can be seen below, and Wickerman comments:
"Ebonillumini is a band of musical traveling nomads who embark upon geographical journeys of discovery. Their mission is to illuminate all things hidden within the ebon shadows of earth, space and time. Musically the band can be described as avant-garde black metal with underlying tones of jazz, classical, and acoustic dark ambient. The cultural musical influences also arise from the lands in which they find themselves.
"'Arktos,' the second full length album by Ebonillumini, is a continuation of the encyclopedic chapter series. Music meant as a sublimation of the spiritual journey, like a cheeky beggar. It is based on a musical concept developed upon geographical exploration and the unveiling of lost forgotten realities, mysteries and legends. More...

Rare and out of print for many years now, Profezia's "Black Misanthropic Elite - Moon Anthem" debut is finally back in print via Moribund Records and set for international release on July 24th as a limited-edition A5 digibook. Moribund comments:
"Originally released in 2008, 'Black Misanthropic Elite - Moon Anthem' introduced this Italian black metal cult to the international scene, and soon was spoken of with quiet reverence. Back then, the duo of Kvasir and Vidharr created an extremely cold, resolutely purist form of black metal that breathed the same icy fire that the ancient gods of the early '90s did.
"And although Profezia's lust for pushing boundaries would blossom years later on the critically acclaimed Moribund album 'Oracolo Suicida,' the conviction displayed - not to mention the utter hypnosis - across 'Black Misanthropic Elite' would serve as an important foundation for one of Italian BM's very best bands.
"Tracks 1-6 comprise the 'Black Misanthropic Elite' portion of the album, while track 7 and 8 comprise 'Moon Anthem,' altogether making for stirring spelunking through medieval depths."

2. Poem for the Black Misanthropic Elite pt.1
3. Under a pale veil of unconsciousness reckless

Progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me today premieres a music video for "The Coma Machine." This is the second single off of the band's upcoming album "Coma Ecliptic" - be sure to also check out the previously posted "Memory Palace" at this location.
About the "Coma Machine" music video, vocalist Tommy Rogers shared: "This video is special to me because it looks beyond the story that is on the record. It showcases the character preparing for his journey and is him basically saying bye to his old demons/life. This footage adds dialogue to the story and I think that is very unique. Wes and crew did a wonderful job creating a world that works well with the song and uniquely showcases the depth of this unstable character."
Between the Buried and Me recently wrapped a headlining tour with support from The Atlas Moth. On July 7th, the band will celebrate the release of "Coma Ecliptic" by continuing the headlining run and kicking off a tour with support from Animals as Leaders and The Contortionist. More...
Coal Chamber will release new album "Rivals" on May 19th in North America via Napalm Records - the band's first new album in over thirteen years. Today Coal Chamber has released a new video for the song "I.O.U. Nothing." Check it out below.
While the band's implosion 12 years ago left a morass of questions and conjecture about what could have been, the members of Coal Chamber aren't into dwelling on their past right now. With Rivals, they've written a new, emboldened chapter in their storied career, delivering beatdown riffage, lyrical diatribes and alluring sonic vistas.
The return of Coal Chamber is marked by two mindsets: the first signifies a celebration of friends who have experienced a greater clarity about them to want to come together in a practice space again. The other mindset posits that they had a case of unfinished business they needed to take care of with bold strokes, lead-pipe cruelty, and aural finesse. More...

Bison Machine’s "Hoarfrost" – the band’s debut album originally self-released earlier this year – will get an official release this July 10th through Germany’s Kozmik Artifactz/Bilocation Records, Europe’s leading purveyor of heavy psych, blues and stoner rock. Kozmik Artifactz comments:
"Worshipers of volume, Bison Machine have gained a reputation for their frenzied, high velocity live shows, welding Graveyard and Pentagram influenced shuffles onto the back of 70s Motor City rock and 90s stoner grooves. If you’re a fan of pounding, colossal blues and heavy Zep-driven riffs then the Hamtramck four-piece’s gnarled and muscular guitar and vocal work on tracks like ‘Cosmic Ark’, ‘Gamekeeper’s Thumb’ and ‘Viking Hand’ will leave you floored, broken and bloodied."
Along with news of this official album release, Bison Machine takes to the road this month for a run of five dates alongside New York’s heavy bluesers Geezer as part of the Mind Over Mountain tour.
Tues, 26/5 – 31st St Pub, Pittsburg (w. Sinister Haze)

Altare Productions is proud to present the debut album of Austria's Nahtrunar, titled "Symbolismus" and set for international release on June 22nd. The label had this to say:
"Nahtrunar excels at a black metal sound that is both classic and individualist, traditional yet boundless. Mixing somber, exceptionally stirring acoustic interludes with cold 'n' otherworldly BM of an authentically '90s vintage, Nahtrunar opesn portals of the imagination across 'Symbolismus' and allow the listener to roam those hinterlands wildly and at will.
"Appropriately, 'Symbolismus' is conceptually dedicated to the nights at the turn of the year, known as 'Rauhnächte' in old European customs and traditions. These nights are said to be a special period of time in between the years, unlike any period of 'regular' time. There is a thick web of myth and superstition around these days and nights: the portal to the netherworld is said to be wide open, all sorts of spirits are awakened, and old gods walk freely among mortal men. Simply stated, the threshold to the dreamworld is blurred. During these nights, dreams and visions are of prophetic quality; a deep sense of reverence is in every move we make, while the earth is cloaked in the longest nights.
"The creative material and conceptual fundament which was later on forged into Nahtrunar's 'Symbolismus' was received during the winter of 2014/2015, especially during the Rauhnächte and the winter solstice, partly on Austrian soil and partly on travels through wintry Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. Not all of Nahtrunar's lyrics adhere strictly to the Rauhnächte, but this sinister, wild, and magical time is still the flesh, blood, and spirit, of every note and every word on this record. More...
At long last, Japan's Barbatos returns with its first album in nearly a decade, "Straight Metal War," which is set for international release on August 7th via Hells Headbangers. The label comments:
"A prolific force on the split-release front, 'Straight Metal War' is Barbatos' fifth album to date in 17 years of existence, and the first for Hells Headbangers. Helmed by Abigail mainman Yasuyuki, Barbatos have become cult legends in the metal underground with their uniquely filthy 'n' sleazy brand of blackened heavy metal/punk.
"Possessed by sex, drinks, and metal, Yasuyuki here extols the virtues of high school girls and heavy metal forces, Witching Metal and Tokyo rock 'n' roll shows, Satanik Holocausts and of course the very real 'Straight Metal War.'
"It's a dozen dirty songs that are immediately memorable, remarkably varied, and whose dirtiness simply won't wash off. Stock up on ammo and enter the 'Straight Metal War' with Barbatos! Hear the first discharge of that ammo all over 'Goodbye High School Girls' below."

Unique Leader had this to say:
"Hailing from the Moscow region, Abominable Putridity was formed in 2003, initially under the moniker Devoured Entrails. Through several lineup shifts over the next several years the band began playing around their country and beyond, and released several decimating recordings, leading with their initial promo demo in 2006, followed by their debut album 'In The End Of Human Existence' released the following year by Lacerated Enemy Records. Is it fair to state that as metalheads we spend a lot of our time checking out new records? Hunting out the next big thing that we can introduce our friends to, something new, and something that evokes the feelings we once got on an almost daily basis back in the day when first discovering metal?
However, on occasion we’re brought back to the classics, the old Metallica records, early Annihilator and so forth; the exact records we discovered on the voyage of metal discovery. Yet sometimes those old classics just don’t quite hit the spot... And that’s exactly what makes bands such as Prowler a breath of fresh fucking air. Everything we’ve heard before is there, it’s familiar, but it’s new and that’s the fundamental difference.
Formed in 2010, Prowler went on to release four EP’s and a box set before signing to Slaney Records to release debut album "After You" in 2013, and "The New Blood" EP later that same year. The thrash titans hailing from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are now on the verge of unleashing yet another beast of a record, their second full-length, entitled "From The Shadows." Overseen by Roger Lian, the same man that was responsible for Slayer's "South Of Heaven" and countless others including Overkill, Pantera and Damageplan; you can be assured a great production.
