Acheron Reveals Details On New Album

Acheron has finally completed upcoming album "Kult Des Hasses," which will see release via Listenable Records.

Vocalist/Bassist Vincent Crowley has been joined on this album with longtime drummer Kyle Severn and guitarist Art Taylor. Also appearing on the recording as a special guest 2nd lead guitarist is Ricktor Ravensbruck.

There will also be guest vocal appearances by death metal icon Kam Lee (Ex-Massacre, The Grotesquery, Bone Gnower), Jim Lippucci (Soulless), John McEntee (Incantation, Funerus), Jill McEntee (Funuers), Ash Thomas (Estuary) and Zdenka Prado (Estuary).

The album was recorded in Cleveland, Ohio at Bad Back Studios and mixed and mastered by the mighty Dan Swano. Cover artwork was handled by German Artist Timo Wuerz. Band founder Vincent Crowley said:

“Even though this album ended up taking much longer than we thought to get done it ended up being something that the whole band is very proud of releasing. We had a very specific idea for this release and I really think we hit the nail on the head. Acheron wanted to get a true late 80’s/early 90’s sound on this album and stay clear of the over produced metal approaches of today. The song writing is very catchy, the bass and drums are pounding and there is tons of shredding guitar solos all over the album. I know Acheron fans old and new will really enjoy this musical assault.”

Wizard Rifle Posts New Road Reports

Wizard Rifle has posted the following tour new tour diaries online:

"Tour Diary, Day 7: everything wrong about San Jose was right in San Francisco and everything right was bigger and/or better. The crowd, the venue (Thee Parkside, doing it right), the hospitality, the money and, most importantly, the way we played. With a 30-minute set we pared down our indulgences and fucked up some faces with economy and style. Woke up today with pants ripped, feeling slightly sick. Gonna keep pounding the mystery plants Jackie Chan 2 showed us in the hopes they are a cure and not a cause. Gonna pull it back 2gether for you, Sacramento.

"Tour die-hairy day 8: battered, tired, plagued with disease we arrived in sac. Someone dosed the burgers with ruffies and church oh misery/wiztards we're dropping like flies, but ultimately it was the savramentians who were the rallying cry for a dang good show! So commences the Long trek north today with Dave on his deathbed in the back of the van. See chu tomorrow Seattle. PRO TIP: Portland-ites buy your tickets now for the Wednesday set at rotture and save yourself some scratch, can't wait to see all you pretty babies!" More...

Kara Darahu Shoots New Music Video

Finnish symphonic extreme metal outfit Kara Darahu has announced the band's first official video is coming soon.

The video was filmed and produced in Buenos Aires, Argentina and directed by Victoria Pelejero. The clip will be followed by a new album in 2014.

Director Victoria Pelejero comments about the idea behind the video: "Kara Darahu's music has a cinematographic vibe, so, as an 80s movies fan I started to imagine the sequences of a movie as soon as I started to hear the song.

"The nightmarish theme in the music took me to my childhood, when I hid to watch horror films, so I planned the video as an old movie trailer, keeping it very simple in argument (a little girl having a nightmare) but using all those visual elements that made 80s horror movies great... the idea, in the end, was to make a very safe environment, like your bedroom, a place where your own demons chase you." Iron Maiden Lining Up 2014 Tour

Iron Maiden ill return to Europe in Summer 2014 starting in late May with a short run of major festivals and a few select arena shows to round off the Maiden England World Tour, which ends with a headline performance at the UK Sonisphere Festival in July.

By the end of the tour the band will have played 102 shows in 32 countries to well over two million fans since starting in the USA in June 2012. For details on Sonisphere tickets, head over here.

The 2014 tour will include dates in countries not visited during the 2013 leg and will be a much shorter run than is usual for a Maiden tour. Manager Rod Smallwood explains:

“The Maiden England 2013 Tour was incredibly well received everywhere and there is much demand from fans to see more and for the band to visit some places in Europe we couldn’t make it to this year so we thought we should play a few more shows. However this will be a relatively short tour in Maiden terms, starting towards the end of May and finishing at Sonisphere, Knebworth in early July. During 2014 we have something new we need to start thinking about, and on which we will be wholly and firmly focused going into 2015 and beyond! More...

The Experiment No.Q Announces Debut Album

The Experiment No.Q is a musical project written and directed by the musician/comedian/scenograph: Paolo Vallerga (No.Q). The Experiment draws together musicians from all over the world, combining a diverse range of styles, musical backgrounds and personalities to create a meeting of creative worlds... the one common point: No.Q.

A Rock album that combines the power of metal with the beauty of poetic atmosphere, the Experiment No. Q fuses together the energies of each musician involved to create a unique and theatrical new world. A realm where musicians are the characters and music tells the story as we weave our way through a metal-infused dimension of leather, poetry and sensuality... amidst a cloud of steam-punk dust!

The musicians involved are: Kevin Zwierzchaczewski (Lord Byron); Nalle Påhlsson, Johan Koleberg and Linnéa Vikström (Therion); Teddy Möller and Jimmy Mattsson (LochVostok), Andrea Palazzo (Osanna, Frank Mc Comb), Emanuel Victor (Wanderer’s Nights, DobleD), Sabrina Rivagli (SB II, session bassist), Marco Rivagli (Divina), Mattia Garimanno (Il Castello di Atlante), Marco Signore (Heavenshine) just to name a few.

"All the musicians are friends of mine, fantastic guys and gorgeous musicians who are happy to play in my project as you can hear in every note of each song. For this reason, to record the album, we wanted them at the same time, in the same place... We needed to share time together to feel the music better.” says Paolo.

“This is an emotional experience, song by song we hope to surprise the fans. I’m a writer and my songs are inspired by both my poetic nature and my metal soul. It is by mixing these two elements that is born... The experiment No.Q".

The project, with the great illustrations of Giacomo Rinaldi, will be released at the beginning of 2014 via Aenima Recordings and Nembo Records. Check out the preview clip here: More...

Pleonexia Details Debut Album

Italian metal act Pleonexia, founded in 2012 by multi-musician Michele Da Pila, will release the debut album "Break All Chains" on January 17th via Pure Underground Records (a division of Pure Steel Records).

The band describes itself as "philosophic metal," which plays a mix of "1980's hard rock and heavy metal with marked epic influences and with lyrics that encompass philosophical subjects." The name "Pleonexia" is an ancient Greek term roughly meaning "covetousness." It was often used to express the insatiable desire to have what rightfully belongs to others. However, the band reads that term with a positive significance, as one of the best qualities of man, that causes him never to accept passively his conditions but inciting him to try overtaking his limits.

The current line up is composed of six members: Michele Da Pila (vocals, guitars and keyboards), Federico Fondrini (guitars/backing vocals), Leonardo Manoiero (guitars/backing vocals), Davide Arneri (bass/ backing vocals), Lorenzo Luca (keyboards), Stefano Clara (drums/ backing vocals).

The track list for "Break All Chains" is:

1. Pleonexia
2. I Don’t Care
3. Iron Will
4. Everything You Said
5. All Dead To Me
6. Use Your Mind
7. Break All Chains
8. We’re Not The Same
9. Freigeist
10. We Just Want More More...
