Cognitive Splits With Vocalist

New Jersey outfit Cognitive has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's vocalist:

"So, we have decided to part ways with our singer Scheenier, we wish him all the best and love him to death.

"With that said, we have a new singer, and would like to welcome Jorel Hart into the band. If you are from Jersey you may know him from his band Due For Extinction, he's a great fit and has a lot to offer, and we're thrilled to be working with him. He will be performing with us for his first time this weekend.

"On top of this, we had found a bass player, Art Sikora, also from Due For Extinction. We hope everybody will be supportive of our decision and understanding, and welcome the 2 new members to the band with open arms, as were extremely excited to be working with them.

"Recording date will be announced very soon!"

Maim Splits With Guitarist

Sweden's Maim has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's guitarist:

Bombs Of Hades Comments On Upcoming Activity

Bombs of Hades has checked in with the following update about upcoming releases next year:

"It's been quiet for a while and 2013 is coming to an end. 2014 will be a busy year for Bombs of Hades. Some cool gigs are in the making and in Feb/March we will enter the studio to record our upcoming 3rd album which will see the light of day in may 2014.

"But before that we will release a 7" on the great De:Nihil Records with 2 new songs, 'Recoil in horror' b/w Black Sabbath's 'Over And Over,' the split 10" with Entrench on War Anthem Records and also Pulverised will release all our 7", splits, odd tracks between 2008-2012 (with 4 new unreleased tracks!!) on a compilation CD 'Through The Dark Past.' A total of 21 songs!

Cycle Of Pain Delays EP Release

Cycle of Pain, the side project of Black Label Society bassist JD Deservio, will not release the upcoming EP, "Pain Us," which was due out November 27th via Sliptrick Records.

The band recently decided to amicably part ways with Sliptrick. The band apologizes for yet another delay in the release of this EP, but promises the wait will be well worth it.

A single and new video will be released around the holidays with the EP following shortly after, likely releasing in early 2014.

The band has several shows scheduled for December and January with Black Water Rising, none of which have been cancelled due to the label split. Catch Cycle of Pain live:

Down From The Wound Releasing Second Album

Comatose Music has announced the February 4th release of "Violence and the Macabre" from Philippino brutal death metallers Down From The Wond. After signing with Comatose in October 2012, Down From The Wound went to work on the follow-up to their 2007 debut, "Agony Through Rituals of Self Purification." The results see the band return with 50 minutes of flesh-shredding southeast asian brutality with old-school atmosphere and organic production.

Down From The Wound are no strangers to the death metal scene; they have been punishing eardrums since 2002 with their nasty combination of inhuman breakdowns and technical riffing. An early preview, in the form of album track "Schematic Fraud," is now available for streaming over at Comatose Music. (Scroll two-thirds of the way down the page to access it). Also, two of album's eleven tracks, "Infiltrate" and "Ill-Fated Annihilation," have made their way into youtube uploads. Both are featured below.
