Agiel Streaming "Dark Pantheons"

Agiel will be releasing a re-recorded version of "Dark Pantheons" this coming February via Deepsend Records, and today you can check out the opening title track in the player below. The band also comments on the coming release:

"Dark Pantheons is a re-introduction to the metal masses of this unique blend of brutal death metal and symphonic black metal known as Agiel. Imbued with chaotic energy and aggression, Dark Pantheons transcends the familiar like an occultist stepping beyond the boundaries of existence. A new sound saturated in complexity and power marks their return.

"To that end, material from Agiel’s 2002 full length release Dark Pantheons Again Will Reign was revisited and re-imagined for a new era. This would serve as a touchstone in the Agiel anthology and for the new material scheduled for production in 2014 by redefining and re-imagining their sound and style."

The track listing is as follows:

1. Dark Pantheons
2. Deeds Rendered Upon the Flesh
3. The Awakening
4. Serpent Masquerade
5. Andromeda

Barishi Streaming Debut Album

Vermont's Barishi just released a self-titled progressive metal tour de force debut album. The saxophone heard on "Sky Burial" and "Holy Mountain" is but one of the pleasant surprises in an album full of them. Barishi was recorded, mixed, and co-produced by the band and Brian Westbrook at PDP Recording, with mastering done by Nick Dragoni at M-Works Mastering Studio. The eight-song album "Barishi" can be experienced over at bandcamp.

Barishi is making its mark in the New England metal scene and beyond. Formed in 2010 as an instrumental three piece know as Atlatl they began writing songs influenced by fusion and progressive music. Their style quickly started getting heavier and darker while retaining some progressive influence, thus forging their own style of heavy psychedelic metal. In 2012 they found a wayward vocalist wandering the streets of Keene, New Hampshire. Bringing him into the fold they found that his sound melded excellently with theirs.
