Stone Sour, which features Slipknot member Jim Root, has now released the following announcement about the band's upcoming tour:
"With an impending Slipknot album on the horizon, Jim will not be touring with Stone Sour this winter. Everyone involved is okay with the decision and our mutual friend Christian Martucci will be filling in on guitar.
"It was a difficult decision, but as the fans have wanted another Stone Sour tour and Jim had responsibilities to the writing process with Slipknot, we feel this is the best decision where everyone wins."
New York based sci-fi death metal band Artificial Brain has completed work on debut album “Labyrinth Constellation.” Profound Lore Records comments:

Stockholm metallers Inflikted have signed a deal with WormHoleDeath for the release of their self-titled album. The label comments:
"The band just completed the production of their killer debut album at Realsound studio with producer Whaoomi Corvi and it’s ready to unleash the beast via Aural Music. The record includes 10 tracks of insane old school metal in the vein of Entombed, Motorhead, Venom, Kreator, and sounds like a northern storm with its huge production and powerful sound!
"Hailing from the most infamous Stockholm’s suburbs and with titles such as 'Corporate Slut,' 'Inferno,' 'Truck – Drivers Journey,' or 'Wrath of the North' the band makes things clear on the topics developed and explored with the lyrics straight away!"
The band stated: “We are glad to have been picked up by the Italian label WormHoleDeath with their help we will now spread our old school type of metal to the world! Like a Iron fist to the corporate sluts faces, our music will destroy! Fast, over-driven and raw! With the help from the guys at Realsound studio they managed to get the music just the way we wanted it. Imagine Motörhead’s sound with Pantera’s production and you will get the idea. This record will be a face-melting experience. We are extremely happy to be part of the WormHoleDeath family, what a band rooster! Holy Divers!”
WormHoleDeath also adds: "When I decided to sign Inflikted it was because they lived in a big city’s suburb, like me, and their killer music was somehow like the soundtrack of my youth! When I listened to the album the only word I said was: Fucking hell! I am so proud of what we have been able to do together and the great thing is that we just started. These guys work really hard and I am sure that they will be very good messengers spreading the old school metal with their nasty topics! Inflikted are ready to blow you all away! Respect for the swedish mafia!” More...
Finnish outfit Payload split with the band's vocalist earlier this year, and now guitarist Vic Lausas has checked in with the following update:
"As you probably know, we've been interviewing and auditioning quite a few singers already to fill the empty spot in the band, but still no perfect match.
"Things are looking quite good on that area though, we've been talking with some of the top level singers in Finland and we also have agreed three more auditions already for December.
"Finding the perfect front for the band isn't easy, but we will get there. Just be patient and show us your love on the way, and we will blow your mind!"
In honor of an upcoming combo assault with hardcore thrash miscreants Iron Reagan, today the gorelords in Exhumed expel a new canticle of chaos in the form of "Gravewalker."
Comments Matt Harvey, minister of diseased death rattles and obscene elegies: "In between our seemingly endless road schedule and recording a new album, we managed to squeak in some time to barf up a couple new tracks and cover songs for this split with our tight buds in Iron Reagan. They're a bit more stripped-down and nasty than the last album [Necrocracy], which was a lot of fun for us. This EP is all about cutting loose and getting down and dirty. We hope you'll join us in the grime and turn out for our week of shows with the Reagans just in time to have one last rager before you spend the holidays with your creepy drunk aunt who keeps touching your face at the table - you know the one I mean! See you mutants on the road!"

When Doro celebrates her big anniversaries, she will traditionally welcome several heroes of the rock and metal scene, and this will also be the case for her 30 year stage anniversary. Doro will be playing two shows on May 2nd and May 3rd, 2014 at CCD-Stadthalle, where her fans can look forward to seeing many superstars.
Hansi Kürsch of Blind Guardian has already confirmed his appearance. As of today it is also confirmed that Miland "Mille" Petrozza of Kreator and Udo Dirkschneider, the former Accept shouter, will come to Düsseldorf to celebrate Doro's anniversary together with her.
Udo comments: "Of course! For Doro I will always be up front. Actually I was planning on being part of her show in Wacken this summer, but I could not make that date.”
"I have the most awesome friends and colleagues," Doro bursts out about the Teutonic trio. You can see her live on these dates: More...
Two years ago, the Swedish heavy metal templars from Hammerfall announced a creative break after celebrating the 15th anniversary of their debut "Glory To The Brave."
“We are taking a pause to ensure that we have another 15 years ahead of us," previously said Oscar Dronjak. Singer Joacim Cans added: “The plan is to use the year off to recharge our batteries and come back more vital than ever with a new album in 2014."
Hammerfall is now proud to announce a performance at the 25th anniversary of the 2014 Wacken Open Air. And the show won’t be a standard one! Oscar Dronjak explains:
“It’s very fitting that, when Wacken celebrates its 25th anniversary, they will get a proper 'Glory To The Brave' anniversary show. This will be a throwback show to the European gig that launched it all for us: Wacken Open Air 1997. The set list will consist of all the songs from the first album and we'll of course add some newer songs at the end. We will do this very unique show at Wacken and nowhere else, so if you miss it, you missed it.”
In August 2014 the new and yet-untitled studio album of Hammerfall will be released. There will also be a single – released on vinyl and digitally – upfront in June. More...

Mediaskare Records has signed Dublin, Ireland’s Red Enemy, who will be coming to the U.S. in February to record a new album with producer Taylor Voeltz (Mureau).
For now, a music video for the band’s previously recorded song “Changing The End” has premiered on the Mediaskare YouTube channel and can be seen below.
“The song addresses a topic that has certainly had no shortage of coverage amongst bands over the past two decades, which essentially is standing up for what you believe in,” stated the band. Adding, “It’s about not settling for the mundane, getting out there and grabbing whatever it is you believe in with both hands. It’s a cliché topic, but one that constantly rears its head on a daily basis. Everyone should strive to have the courage and ambition to follow their heart regardless of what anyone tells you. It seems obvious, but no harm in reminding people of that as much as possible.”
The video for the track was directed by Luke Daly, who came up with the concept. The band comments: “He had this vision he had wanted to make a reality for some time and he figured we were the band to help make that happen. We loved it instantly. We had wanted to do something completely different for some time, something out of the ordinary, something that would make people go 'what the hell did I just watch there,' and this was the perfect opportunity with an incredibly talented director. The video itself depicts two particular aspects of the song meaning, courage and perseverance. There were some crazy long days and some touchy issues with the quarry owner but we got it done and the final product is delish.” More...

Domestic Genocide Records has signed a pact with Tokyo-based Oozepus, welcoming the trio to their ever-morphing society of auditory sickness. The label comments:
"Uchino, of Japanese doom lords Coffins, initiated Oozepus in 2012, in order to re-examine his earlier roots as Compromise You Need -- the band previous to Coffins in the mid-'90s -- was forged in the more industrial/death tradition of Godflesh, Dead World and Skin Chamber.
"Taking on vocal and guitar duties, he recruited fellow Coffins-mate Satoshi on drums, and bassist/vocalist Ohkubo of Linekraft and Albiorix Requiem, the band began crafting this elder template into a new design.
"Oozepus released first recordings earlier this year in the form of a three-song demo issued through Three Plugs Records/Pagan Result, the material displaying a bruising, hypnotic metallic style comparable to early Swans, Godflesh, Scorn and no wave with a molten, organic persuasion. The potent demo caught the ear of American-based Domestic Genocide (Cerna, Akris, etc.) who contracted the outfit to join the label roster." More...
Machine Head signed with Nuclear Blast back in October, and now the band has issued the following update about gearing up to enter the recording studio:
"As you may have noticed there aren't any, 'hey, were in the recording studio' updates happening. That's because were not!
"A few Journals ago I said we'd hit the studio at end of October, and while we tried our damnedest to make that deadline, the fact is, we weren't ready.
"We started writing in January of this year but between the bassist auditions, teaching Jared all the old tunes, rehearsing for headline dates, doing Mayhem, getting Jared up to speed on the new tunes, and back into writing mode in September, we just didn't have the songs yet. We probably only wrote music for 4 out of those 9 months, if we went in, it would have been rushed. More...

You've heard the song, now it's time to see the video - In This Moment is proud to unveil "Whore" in its full cinematic splendor, and has released the song's official music video today. Watch the video right here.
Directed by Robert Kley, who was also at the helm for the band's "Adrenalize" and "Blood" videos, "Whore" co-stars Motionless In White frontman Chris Motionless.
"His look is so perfect for the dirty vintage feel of the video, and he was a perfect gentleman while being violated by me," says In This Moment frontwoman Maria Brink.
"I knew how amazing placing the visual arts to 'Whore' would be when we wrote it, and I have been waiting to release this video since we recorded the song," Brink continues of the band's new video. "I am so passionate about the concepts and every single detail that goes into shooting a music video, and I created my own stimulating visual metaphor to make this - I am grateful to have worked with Robert Kley again, he always seems to help me bring what I see in my mind to life. 'Whore' is a song that pushes boundaries, and I needed the video to do the same. The song is about taking back control. It is about rising above and finding the power within ourselves. I hope everyone enjoys it!"
Adds guitarist Chris Howorth: "'Whore' is one of my favorite songs on 'Blood' and the video is the best we have created to date - it's just as creepy and sexy as our live show, with a bunch of extra surprises. Maria really outdid herself on this one... this is her twisted vision brought to life, enjoy!" More...

Southern California's Throwdown is set to release "Intolerance" on January 21st, 2014. The new LP will be the band's first since "Deathless" was released back in 2009. Frontman Dave Peters weighs in on the announcement:
"Completing this record felt great in so many respects, most important of which was the opportunity to finally give longtime supporters of the band this music that I've had swirling around in my head over the past four years.
"The variety of people from different places and scenes, who have found the band through vastly different avenues over the past 15 or so years, will each get into it for their own unique reasons I think. And for those who think it’s junk, it’s only about 28 minutes they have to regret."
"Deathless" and "Vendetta" collaborator Zeuss (Hatebreed, Crowbar, Demon Hunter) returned to mix the new record. The new album was recorded at Hurley Recordings in Costa Mesa, California with producer Davey Warsop and mixed at Planet Z.
"Intolerance" features guitar solo contributions from Dave Nassie (Bleeding Through, No Use For A Name, Infectious Grooves), who joined Throwdown’s recent touring lineup alongside Demon Hunter drummer Tim “Yogi” Watts and "Deathless" era bassist Mark Mitchell.
