New Jersey progressive metal band, Divinity Destroyed, has announced that they will be releasing a new album, entitled "Nova." The band, which parted ways in 2010, revealed that they will be releasing the songs from their final studio sessions. The album, which is five years in the making, will feature the return of original drummer Dan Leonard, who parted ways with the band in 2008.
The release date for "Nova" is set for December 24th, 2013. The cover art for "Nova" can be seen here.
The band has posted a trailer online for "Nova." Watch it below:
Former LostProphets vocalist, Ian Watkins, was today given a sentence of thirty five years for his sickening acts of child abuse, including the attempted rape of a baby. Twenty nine years will be spent in prison, with a further six on licence. His two co-defendents, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were sentenced to fourteen and seventeen years behind bars. The Welsh singer pleaded guilty to thirteen child sex charges at Cardiff Crown Court last month and the judge today stated that his actions "plunged into new depths of depravity."
Police are now working with authorities in the United States of America and Germany, as it is believed he may have committed similar acts in these countries. It was also revealed today that over 27 terabytes of data, around five times the size of the South Wales Police database, containing highly explicit images has been found in his home. He concealed his collection using encrypted files on an encrypted database, though experts from GCHQ, a British spy agency, were able to gain access to them.

“We are stoked to be able to announce that Horizon Ablaze have signed with Aural Music. Aural Music is exactly what Horizon Ablaze needs going forward stronger than ever. regarding the new album The time has come for Horizon Ablaze to dive deeper into its insanity, with tracks that destroys everything they’ve previously done.
"The new album is an ultimate testament to hate, where genres mould into something completely unique, and absurd. It’s also the first album where their native language will be the primary means of spewing destructive ideas, uplifting anti theistic views and nihilism. The only concept really touched upon on this record is to make the creepiest, darkest, most fucked up record in aeons, as it is the only way to build upon Spawn’s genuine atmosphere and develop further as a band.” More...
Norway's Shining and Hacride have just returned from a European tour with Tides From Nebula and The Ocean. Jørgen Munkeby of Shining comments:

Hope to be back in Europe soon!”

Today, blackened doomsmiths Culted drop new track "Illuminati" upon the holiday-addled masses. The tune comes by way of the band's "Oblique To All Paths" long player, slated for release via Relapse Records early next year.
Elaborates the band's Michael Klassen (guitar/bass/percussion/noise) of the record: "Oblique to All Paths is the culmination of Culted's collective experience over the past five years. As artists and musicians, we're acting as interpreters of our environment, if you will. We've all been subjected to mythmakers and storytellers, shamans and charlatans in life. 'Illuminati' strives to skeptically dissect these deceptive belief systems and explore them using sound." More...

"One question I kept asking myself during the writing process of the new album was; How do we make a Carnifex album that shows our growth as musicians and progress as artists but still remains 'Carnifex.'
"I believe this album represents the answer to that question. We pushed ourselves further than any previous album. We drew on influences never drawn from in the past. We incorporated elements of different genres we never touched on in previous albums.
"This album is the culmination of nearly 9 years of writing music as Carnifex. This is the album Carnifex was always meant to write." More...

"Cold as ice, angry as a horde of Viking warriors, and determined like an army fighting for freedom of their homeland: Thunderwar! The band was born in 2013, when four young metal maniacs decided to join their forces to not only pay their tribute to such metal heroes as Bathory, Unleashed, Dissection, or Amon Amarth, but to prove that Poland has again something to say to the metal world, after giving birth to cult acts such Vader or Behemoth.
"Since the very beginning the band decided to work only with the best ones. Debut EP 'The Birth of Thunder' was finally mixed and produced by Wieslawscy Bros from Hertz Studio. The band’s logo was designed by Christophe Szpajdel and the cover artwork for 'The Birth of Thunder' EP was created by Mario Lopez.
"Currently the band is promoting its self-released EP and in the middle of 2014 will enter the Hertz Studio to work on the first, full album, which is foretold to be a step to the next level - higher, than anybody can expect! Thunderwar: Better remember this name, as they are here to stay!"

One of the most unusual and charismatic rock acts have announced the release of the latest studio album for January 2014. More precisely: the American quartet Nashville Pussy are set to present their new studio recording "Up The Dosage" on January 21, 2014 in North America, in Germany on January 17, 2014 and Europe on January 20, 2014.
"Up the Dosage" picks up seamlessly where their 2009 release "From Hell To Texas" left off. And what is more: their five-year hiatus seems to have done frontman Blaine Cartwright (vocals, guitar) and Ruyter Suys (guitars) good - all 13 new songs (plus two bonus tracks) sound like they were catapulted into to the public from a fountain of youth, rocking in typical Pussy style. Up the Dosage features the first recordings from new bassist Bonnie Buitrago who took over the bass player duties from Karen Cuda.
Frontman Blaine Cartwright commented on the addition of Bonnie to the band: "Bonnie originally tried out for Nashville Pussy 12 years ago. When we needed a replacement for Karen a couple of years ago, we were lucky that she was available. She's a Southern California native who is a great musician who has given our rock a more solid roll!"
Rick Beato, known for his production work with Shinedown, mixed the album. The first audio sample of the track "The South's Too Fat to Rise Again" is available for streaming via SoundCloud (also heard in the player below).
"The song is about how fucking fat everyone in the south has got. Me included! It's hard to preach about Southern Pride when you can't touch your toes," exclaims frontman Blaine Cartwright.
"Up The Dosage" will be released in the following formats: limited digipak edition (incl. 2 bonus tracks + poster), double gatefold LP edition with colored vinyl, standard version and download.
The track list is:
1. Everybody's Fault But Mine
2. Rub it to Death
3. Till the Meat Falls off the Bone
4. The South's Too Fat to Rise Again
5. Before the Drugs Wear Off
7. Beginning of the End
