Pit Stories: Shit In The Camper

Every week we check in with metal bands from across the globe to get their most memorable stories from live performances.

Back in November, Swedish group Horisont gave us a great story about the wrong guy getting punched at a show, and this week the band returns to share a very different tale.

Today Horisont drummer Pontus Jordan relays this recollection about the trials and tribulations of being on the road getting to the next gig:

We did a tour back in 2012 with our mates Graveyard and on this tour we decided to keep a low budget and therefor got a camper to travel around in. This might sound like a cosy option but Europe during wintertime is a bit too cold we found out. After a show in Brussels we had come to the conclusion that we had to drive a couple of hours during the night to make in time to the gig the day after. Magnus our bass player got the honour to be the driver.

Packing out the rest of us got a bit drunk and one of us accidentally put one of the merch boxes in a pile of dog shit! Then another took that box and placed it on Magnus bed. That smell haha!! So not only was he driving for 4-5 hours in the middle of the night, he was looking forward to going to sleep in a cold bed with shit stains on it! I`ve known Magnus for many years and I have never seen his face so tired and his eyes so lifeless! I was really trying to be helpful and good mate but it`s hard not laugh.

Big of moustache and tight of trouser, Horisont's latest album "Odyssey" came out back in September. See the band performing the title track live in Vienna below. More...

Iron Bonehead Productions is proud to present the debut demo of Malaysia's Voidnaga, set for international release on March 11th.

Voidnaga came into existence in 2015 as a solo-project of Adlan after the demise of Impious Blood, his former project. His interest was shifted into reaching his ancestral magic and occultism by utilizing the classic black/death/doom frequencies.

Fascinated with cosmic horror and the mythological/demonological deities of his homeland, Adlan composed and recorded Voidnaga's first music while he was in isolation from the material world. The track listing is:

1. Intro (The Coronation)
2. Emanated Light Towards Chaos
3. Haze Bore Darkness

Fault Lines Posts Full EP Online

After dropping lead single “Equal Parts” that features Silent Planet vocalist Garrett Russel, metalcore outfit Fault Lines is now streaming the entire "Such Is Life" EP online.

This full stream also marks the official release of "Such Is Life" today. Listen in below, courtesy of HM Magazine. Vocalist Corey Pettit comments:

“This EP is a collection of songs that open up a dialogue about various feelings or things that we as humans have to deal with in our lives, that aren't exactly positive. We didn't want to sugar-coat the content so a lot of it comes off as cynical or melancholy, but it's honest which is what we were going for.

"The release deals with addiction, anxiety, fighting complacency and a few other subjects that are harsh realities of the world we live in. We hope that you find some solace in knowing that you are not alone in these issues and that you can get through it. That's the main idea of this EP... You will get past it and move on, and it's worth it to.” More...

Cradle Of Filth To Resume Tour On January 31st

Cradle Of Filth's tour with Butcher Babies and Ne Obliviscaris was recently postponed due to visa problems, but now the band is officially in transit to the States, with the trek to resume on January 31st.

Ne Obliviscaris fans can still catch that band live this week though, as several headlining shows were lined up in place of the cancelled tour dates while waiting for Cradle's arrival.

Cradle Of Filth has now checked in with the following update:

"CRADLE OF FILTH ARE ON THEIR WAY TO SEE ALL THEIR US FANS!! The band will be flying out Saturday to begin the tour in Charlotte Sun 31st Jan.

"We would like once again apologize to everyone who were intending to see the band at the four cancelled shows this week in the U.S. The cancellation, ironically, was mainly down to the slow return of Dani's visa from the American Embassy in London, rather than the brutal weather. Dani has now received his visa after an agonizing wait.

"We're utterly utterly sorry for the cancellations, but it has been something that has been totally out of the band's hands. We can only hope that the rest of the tour will be as amazing as planned. Thanks once again for your understanding and see you out on the road!" More...

"'Marcellin s'en va-t-en guerre' is forty-three minutes of intelligent, lethal hell fueled metal precision-tooled to tear your head off and painstakingly crafted so that every note sparks with frantic energy. Pogavranjen To Release Third Full Length Album

Croatian avant-garde black metallers Pogavranjen will return with the third full-length album "Jedva Cekam Da Nikad Ne Umrem" (translates to: “Looking Forward to Never Dying”), which will see the light of day through Poland’s Arachnophobia Records on February 15th. Stream the track “Maireya” off the upcoming album below.

While keeping the avant-garde strong throughout the entire release, "Jedva Cekam Da Nikad Ne Umrem" deepens the obvious obsession of the abrasive with almost gain-free guitar work and polyrhythmic drumming. It is yet again a step towards uncharted territory of dark, progressive and temperamental soundscapes.

Formed in the winter of 2008, Pogavranjen was started as a black metal act. Over the years the band took the sound to more psychedelic and avant-garde levels, with a strong nihilistic lyrical touch but still maintaining the roots of black metal. They are considered to be outcasts within their native scene, emphasising their scorn and disgust towards the stagnant, even regressive nature of traditionalism in the black metal scene nowadays.

The track list for the album is:

1. Keres
2. Maitreya
3. Parahaoma
4. Xolotl
5. Kalpa
6. Olam Ha-ba More...
