Earthburner Arrives, Posts "Total War" Video
Earthburner has arrived! For Broken Hope fans “in the know,” Earthburner is the grindcore entity that Jeremy Wagner first created in 2002 when BH was entering its metal hibernation period.
Check out a brand new video for the Earthburner track “Total War” below. Jeremy Wagner also had this to say:
“I’m happy to announce that Earthburner finally has legs and now has material for the whole world to hear and see. I originally planned to make Earthburner a full-time successor to Broken Hope years ago.
"In fact, I announced it to the masses in 2002, and immediately received positive responses from fans and press-plugs in almost every metal mag available at the time. However, some things in life side-tracked me (like focusing on being a novelist and getting married and moving), and that all caused Earthburner to be put on the ‘back-burner.’
"That said, Earthburner was always on my mind…I was still writing and demoing riffs and extreme music that no one had yet heard, and with each passing year, some fans would ask whatever was I going to do with Earthburner (and I yearned to do something to finally answer that question). The fact that anyone was still interested delighted me and also made me anxious to get it going again.
"I’m intensely passionate about pure grindcore and had always wanted to a genuine grindcore band that would be a separate monster from Broken Hope in terms of style, genre, tuning, vocals, and pure blasting ferocity. It was my love for bands like Terrorizer, Napalm Death, Nasum, Repulsion, General Surgery, and Cripple Bastards all inspired me for decades and really drove me to do something faithful to this über-extreme genre. Hybernoid Re-Releasing "The Last Day Begins?"
Hybernoid's "The Last Day Begins?" is about to get a new version released via Xtreem Music, with the label commenting:
"Here at the Xtreem Music headquarters, feel more proud than ever to announce that we'll be officially re-issueing one of our all time fave doom / death releases ever!! This is the classic '94 debut of one UK's most original, unique and genuine bands, Hybernoid!
"In 1994 it was released what's arguably the most unique album by a band whose style has never been easy to classify, but was swimming amongst elements of doom, death and industrial, the debut of British Hybernoid's 'The Last Day Begins?' was an instant classic that got worldwide recognition with songs full of magic mysticism and eerie moods with bewitching and hypnotizing melodies where the female & male vocalists formed a raw yet perfect combination.
"This re-issue of 'The Last Day Begins?' comes in a killer 2-CD set including their three 7" EP's and demo '92 as well as 6 unreleased songs that never made it for their 2nd album and three rare tracks from their 'Todays Tomorrows Yesterday' CD. Basically all their recordings from '92 to '97 that comes in a fucking complete 16-pages booklet full of photos, covers, flyers, show posters, liner notes and tons of stuff!! Front cover art is a revamped version of the original, but hey, don't cry, the original one is on the backside of the booklet, so all you'll have to do, in case you prefer that one, is just flip the booklet and stop bitching, haha!!"
This new edition will drop on February 1st and you can hear a track from the upcoming re-release below. More...

Antropomorphia Re-Issuing "Necromantic Love Songs"
Dutch death metal band AntropomorphiA is back with a re-issue of the group's first EP and demo, entitled "Necromantic Love Songs," which is set to be released on February 12th worldwide via Metal Blade Records.
All tracks have been re-mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus for the most eerie listening experience possible. Pre-order "Necromantic Love Songs" here and check out the "Chunks Of Meat" single below.
Both the LP and CD versions of "Necromantic Love Songs" are limited and numbered - they won't be repressed once they are sold-out. 666 copies of the LP are available (333 in two different editions), and there are only 1000 copies of the CD.
Singer/guitarist Ferry Damen comments: "'Necromantic Love Songs' has been a sonic sepulchral withering that keeps echoing through the years and although it has been 20+ years since we recorded it, till this day people keep asking when we are going to revisit this release. So when Metal Blade gave us the opportunity to let these restless cadavers rise from their burial chamber - and although a lot of stuff got lost or damaged in those years - we checked our vaults and got out everything we could use to make it a worthy re-issue!" Jack And Coke Shall Now Be Known As A "Lemmy"
The lowest of the low for heavy metal in 2015 occurred at the tail end of the year when iconic Motorhead front man Lemmy Kilmister passed away in late December.
Since then there have been a variety of tributes to the music legend, including a petition for a Lemmy statue to be placed at the Rainbow Bar & Grill.
Now a new petition is circulating that many Motorhead fans can likely get behind. Although Lemmy was known to switch to vodka later in life, he will always be remembered as a Jack Daniels man.
A change.org petition here is now calling for a Jack and Coke to henceforth and forever be known as a "Lemmy." The petition reads:
"A Jack Daniels and Coke will forever be associated with Ian Fraser 'Lemmy' Kilmister, the iconic founder of Motorhead. To celebrate and remember one of Rock and Roll's true legends, I petition everyone to henceforth and hereafter refer to the combination of Jack Daniels Whiskey and Coca-Cola as a 'Lemmy.' Let it be so."
If you missed it, be sure to check out our tribute to Lemmy here, and you can also see full video of his final performance with Motorhead at this location.

Rob Zombie's "31" Finally Gets An "R" Rating
After three separate attempts, Rob Zombie's upcoming gory horror flick "31" has finally received an R rating from the MPAA.
The film had previously gotten the dreaded NC-17, even after being re-submitted in a less brutal cut, which meant most theaters would not show the movie.
Third time must have been the charm, because after culling more footage from the film, "31" is now officially rated R and getting prepped for a theater release. If the distorting of artistic vision just to satisfy some faceless assholes who don't even like horror movies gets your blood boiling, don't worry - the uncut version will be included on the DVD release. Whitechapel Posts Documentary Clip
After releasing live CD/DVD set "The Brotherhood of the Blade" this past October, Whitechapel is now launching a mini-documentary, entitled "Untold," which gives an inside look into the less talked about aspects of touring.
Shot and directed by Mathis Arnell / Naughty Mantis, "Untold" was filmed with the band and crew over the course of the summer of 2015 on the Rockstar Mayhem tour.
Having spent most of 2015 on tour with the likes of Slayer, King Diamond, and Suicide Silence, Whitechapel just entered the studio to record a sixth album and follow-up to 2014's "Our Endless War" (which debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top 200 chart).
Whitechapel's Alex Wade (guitar) comments: "Beginning this week, we have started tracking our sixth full-length studio album. It has been a long road over the last 10 years to get to this point and we are excited to show you the next progression of Whitechapel." More...

Alesana just released part one of the "Comedy of Errors" music video/mini-movie. The song comes from the band's recent release "Confessions," and part two of the video's saga will conclude later this winter.
"It is with great pleasure that we unveil part 1 of our short film / music video for 'Comedy of Errors'," comments vocalist Shawn Milke.

With the third part of the story releasing later this winter, this video is an awesome way to get a glimpse into some of the twists and turns that are soon to haunt your mind. Like Animals Posts "Caterwaul" Video
Orillia, ON's deviant melodic math metal band Like Animals has posted a new lyric video for the track "Caterwaul," which can be seen below.
"Caterwaul" is released in support of upcoming EP "Feral," due out on January 22nd and following previous animal-themed EPs "Sweet Whispers, Plagued Ears," "The Undertoad," and "The Wild."
Like a wild animal, each member maintains a sense of chaos through their arpeggio guitar and bass sections, unorthodox drums peppered with dynamic changes, and finally tempered by the wavering vocals soaring just slightly above the instrumentals both in tone and feeling. Lyrics contend with themes such as self-doubt, lack of self-worth, depression, anxiety, and the like.
"We wanted to release 'Caterwaul' next simply because it sort of stands out on its own on the album. It has many style changes and really takes an unexpected turn in the second half of the song. This song is all about mood," comments drummer Will Tennant. More...
Church Of Misery Announces New Album Details
For the last two decades, Church Of Misery has sawed off only the finest in uncompromising doom. The revered Japanese masters are lifelong practitioners of the genre, honoring and extrapolating upon the Sabbathian legacy from which all detuned life springs forth.
Church Of Misery's sixth and latest album, "And Then There Were None," is another blood-soaked trip through homicidal hell, with songs inspired by killers both infamous and obscure. But while the murderous inspiration for the tunes remains the same, the cast of characters is almost completely new.
"And Then There Were None" is set for a March 4th release via Rise Above Records. The first single taken from the album "Confessions of an Embittered Soul" is featured in the February 2016 issue of Decibel Magazine as part of the Flexi Series - you can also check it out below.
In 2014, Church Of Misery bassist and mastermind Tatsu Mikami was forced to assemble a new lineup for the band's follow-up to 2013's "Thy Kingdom Scum." His chosen few reside on American soil: Blood Farmers guitarist Dave "Depraved" Szulkin, Earthride drummer Eric Little (ex-Internal Void) and Repulsion frontman (and former Cathedral bassist) Scott Carlson on vocals.
"All the musicians involved in this album are undoubtedly the best in this scene," Tatsu enthuses. "So you will enjoy listening to all play tastefully." More...

Caliban Unveils New Album "Gravity"

Avatarium Releases New Music Video
Sweden's new doom darlings from Avatarium released "The Girl With The Raven Mask" back in October via Nuclear Blast. Today the band reveals a music video for the song "Pearls And Coffins."
The video was filmed in Södra Teatern and Stora Vika, directed by Johan Bååth, and produced by Robert Lundmark and Magnus Johansson from Bobin Film. Lundmark was also responsible for the editing. Director Bååth comments:
"When I first heard 'Pearls & Coffins' the vulnerable beauty and violent darkness of the song really struck me. 'Machine guns and soulless fashion,' I pictured a cold war-like dystopian concrete dream world from another time in the past. When everything is lost, you let your deepest inner emotional feelings out, no matter how dark they appear.
"The fascination for and showing violence is always tricky and it will and should always affect you and make you think twice. I feel that the video and the lyrics are about our deeper, darker corners inside our human mind and in our hearts of momentary darkness, where violence might set seed and may grow. Showing the shoot-out was meant as a personal metaphor for just that and of course not to encourage violence in any way, shape or form. More...

The first release was "In Your Face," the debut six-song EP from the Arizona-based rock quartet Doll Skin. Savagist Signs With Deathbound Records
Deathbound Records is proud to kick off 2016 with the signing of Georgia's three piece sludge merchants Savagist.
Formed by Jason Richardson (Drums), Daniel Shroyer (Bass & Vocals) and Clem Adams (Guitar & Vocals), Savagist’s sound is almost impossible to pigeonhole. In our opinion, the following quote from Maximum Rocknroll hits the nail right on the head: “Metal as fuck. Stripped down and slower crusty death metal with agro lyrics about the bleak relationship between humans and nature. Savagist taps a primal cord then pounds on it.” Savagist would fit perfectly on a playlist featuring early Mastodon, Baroness and Neurosis.
After releasing a 7inch in 2010, three cassettes in 2011 and an EP in 2012, it’s now time for Savagist’s followers to get the full treatment. Their first full length album "Invisible Birth of Death" is set to be released in early 2016 through Deathbound Records. More information is expected soon.
The band has been making the rounds for a while and has shared the stage with acts such as Kylesa, Weedeater, Black Tusk and High On Fire just to name a few. Savagist will tour extensively in 2016 and are ready to take their music to the next level.
