Snake Eyes Seven Finishing Work On New Album

Canadian heavy metal band Snake Eyes Seven is in the final phase of completing third release "Medicine Man." The album is currently being mixed by producer and lead guitarist Cam MacLeod at the Wolf Den in Edmonton, Alberta.

"Just like '13 Crows' was leaps and bounds over our debut, 'Medicine Man' will crush anything prior to what we've done." says founding member, guitarist, and chief song writer Cole The Madman Stevens.

Once mixdown is completed, the project then heads to L.A. to be mastered. The album will contain 9 blistering tracks of heavy metal and two videos were shot on location in December 2015 at the Twin D Ranch in Vancouver for the tracks "Medicine Man" and "Can You Hear Me Calling." Both videos were produced by Danny Deane, executive produced by Cole Stevens, with executive assistance by Cat in the Hat Productions. More...

Gomorrah Streaming Full New Album

Kelowna, BC's death metal group Gomorrah is now streaming full new album "The Haruspex" online in advance of the January 15th, 2016 release via Test Your Metal Records. Check it out below, courtesy of Bravewords.com.

You can pre-order the album right here and Gomorrah guitarist Bowen Matheson comments on the upcoming full-length release:

"Jeff Bryan and I recorded the album at my home here in the Okanagan Valley, and we did the absolute majority of the writing in the pre-production and production stages. So much of the material had existed from several years ago, but was completely overhauled and reworked several times to end up in these tracks.

"We weren't afraid to try things out and work over several revisions, or to take our hands off of a few of the songs that we felt very comfortable with after only the first revision. Jeff wrote the lyrics for the tracks in less than two months, and a lot of them were written and finalized in the vocal tracking stage, in front of the microphone.

"We weren't afraid to enable our music with production techniques. Many reviews have figured that we used samples or synthesizers in the songs, however the reality is that all of these droning noises, stutters, and otherwise 'industrial' sounds are actually either electric guitar or bass guitar, and abusing these instruments in front of their amplifiers with only two guitar effect pedals. The rest of these noises you hear are the interaction with the instrument and their environment.

"We then delivered all of the tracks to Stuart McKillop of Rain City Recorders for mixing, and he blew us away. It didn't take him long at all to catch onto what we were going for, and his consistency from one track to the next brought the tracks to the highest musical apex they could reach. Brad Boatright of Audiosiege handled the mastering, and he made certain that the product was of the outstanding final production quality for us. Brad has really yielded an outstanding quality for so many other abrasive sub-genres of metal and hardcore and he delivered that exact pinnacle of quality for us on this record as well." More...

Horrid Re-Issuing "Reborn In Sin"

Originally released back in 2002, Horrid's "Reborn In Sin" will get the re-issue treatment from The Spew Records on January 25th, 2016. The label also issued this statement about the history of Horrid:

"In 1988 the band was formed by Belfagor (guitars) and Max (bass). They adopted the name Rites Of Death, aspiring to sound like bands such as Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. One year later the name was changed in Horrid. The first releases were issued in 1992 and 1994, years which saw the arrival of two self produced demo tapes: 'Eternal Suffering' and 'You Are Mine.' Another promo tape was recorded in 1993, although it didn’t see the light until 2009 on Terror From Hell Records.

"Each cassette generated interest among various labels, so in 1996 the band released the 7-inch vinyl 'Awaiting For The Truth' under Cryptic Soul Production. Three years later Horrid entered the legendary Sunlight Studio in Stockholm to record its second EP 'Blasphemic Creatures,' released by Behind The Mask Records.

"The mini album became an underground classic and gave Horrid the chance to sign a deal with Deadsun Records for the release of its first full length 'Reborn In Sin' (2002). Shortly thereafter, in 2006, the band received attention from Xtreeme Music and released its second full album 'Rising From The Hidden Spheres.'

"In the meantime Horrid was featured on several compilation albums with new and repressed material: 'Evil’s Birth' 2002 (More Hate Productions), 'Death By Metal' 2010 (Blasphemous Art Productions) and 'The Final Massacre' 2011 (Black Tears Productions). Many line up changes occurred throughout the band’s 24 years history. Then in 2012, after a short hiatus, Horrid came back to life when Riccardo (drums) joined the band. More...
