Embalmer Releasing New Album

At long last, legendary American death metal cult Embalmer returns with second album, "Emanations From the Crypt," set for international release on April 1st via Hells Headbangers.

The long-running band's first album for Hells Headbangers, "Emanations From the Crypt" is both a new start for Embalmer and a return to its classic, core values. In 1995, the band released an EP titled "There Was Blood Everywhere" (of which Hells Headbangers reissued in 2014) on then-death metal powerhouse Relapse Records, forever etching Embalmer's name into the death metal scene.

Lineup shuffles ensued in the following years, culminating in the band's debut album, 2006's "13 Faces of Death," which is widely regarded (even by the band) as a misstep. Now armed with a vital 'n' vile lineup, Embalmer returns to the dark 'n' disgusting roots of the past with "Emanations From the Crypt." Across a dozen quick-hitting yet complete tracks, you will find all the trademark Embalmer elemen

Says vocalist Paul Gorefiend, “This record is long-overdue, and we acknowledge that. The band never was truly happy with the '13 Faces of Death' album, so we worked hard to really make sure this release was a return-to-form of sorts, and true representation of what we feel Embalmer is, and always has been. We went back to the basics and drew influence from the original 'Into the Oven' and 'There was Blood Everywhere' eras musically, peppered in some extra Terrorizer/Autopsy influences, added some crazed Deranged Rated-X-style riffing over the top, and backed it all against the blasting, non-triggered drum assault Roy has become known for. Fuath Releasing "I" Album

Neuropa Records is proud to announce the release of “I,” the debut album of Scotland’s Fuath, a new black metal project created by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Andy Marshall, better known as the mastermind behind Celtic black metal act Saor.

Unlike Saor, which finds Marshall focusing mostly on a folksy and epic black metal, here the musician delves into a darker and more melancholic side of the genre, marrying fierce and harsh riffs, unrelenting double-kick drums and raspy screams with melancholic melodies and hypnotic, gloomy ambiences. Andy Marshall comments:

“I am a massive fan of hypnotic atmospheric black metal, especially early 90's stuff like Burzum's 'Hvis lyset tar oss,' early Darkthrone and also modern bands such as Paysage d'hiver and Vemod.

“I wanted to create a cold, hypnotic and melancholic black metal album which tried to capture the feelings I felt listening to these bands. I always come back to these bands when winter comes along and I feel their sounds are perfect for this time of year, almost kind of spiritual in a way.”

Mixed and mastered by Spenser Morris, “I” will be released on February 1st on CD and LP via Neuropa Records. The track listing is:

1. In the Halls of the Hunter
2. Blood
3. The Oracle
4. Spirit of the North More...

Geryon Releasing "The Wound And The Bow"

New York City-based Geryon is finalizing the outfit's new album, "The Wound And The Bow," which will see release in early April under the banner of Profound Lore Records.

Geryon is an avant-garde technical prog-death metal duo comprised of one half of Krallice, namely bassist/vocalist Nicholas McMaster and drummer Lev Weinstein.

Following a self-titled independent album in 2013, Geryon now presents this sophomore full-length recording, "The Wound And The Bow." While seemingly stripped down to the bare minimum without any electric guitars in the mix whatsoever, utilizing lyrics written by McMaster's sister, Antonia, the sounds that pour forth from "The Wound And The Bow" present an enveloping and overwhelming picture.

The album was produced at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves in New York City by Colin Marston, who also performs in Krallice in addition to Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, and more. The record also features guest electronic music contributions from the likes of Jim Mroz (Lussuria), Nick Podgurski (New Firmament, Feast of the Epiphany), and Chris Latina (Private Archive, Article Collection), as well as Marston.
