Trace Your Steps Discusses New Video And Album
Yesterday we had the pleasure of premiering a new music video from up and coming New York metalcore group Trace Your Steps.
Discussing the lyrical content of the video, Trace Your Steps vocalist Tom Calderone stated it's a "reminder to take others into account, while appreciating the life you have, and making the most of what you can while the opportunity still presents itself."
That performance clip for "Animal (Creature Of Habit)" is just the start of new music to come from the band however, as a full-length album is now underway and is coming out later this year.
The members of Trace Your Steps - Tom Calderone (Vocals), Ian Schneider (Guitar), David Hassan (Guitar), Jalen Alvarez (Bass), and Matt Graf (Drums) - also got in touch with us to chat about the video and what's in store from the band in the future. Check out the full interview below. More...
Weekend Nachos Announces 2016 As Final Year
In what is a seriously mixed message, Weekend Nachos has announced the band is coming to an end - and releasing a new album and touring through October. The group posted this message online for fans:
"To anybody who gives a shit, we would like to announce with both sadness and excitement that 2016 will be the final year as a band for Weekend Nachos. It's been almost 12 years and we have decided to hang it up. This is not for any reason other than the fact that all good things must eventually come to an end, and we are rapidly approaching the end of our time.
"It's been an insane and crazy ride for us to see where we were able to take this band. Everything was done completely on our terms and with the same DIY spirit that we had when Andy and I first jerked each other off in our Dekalb apartment in 2004. We will continue to apply that sacred mindset towards our future projects and endeavors... I hope all of you will do the same.
"We would like to thank anybody and everybody who ever shared this experience with us. Your support will never be matched and it has been a lot of fun. We will be playing a series of shows over the course of 2016 and as always, if you have a chance to see us, don't sleep! We never know when we'll be back. If it ever makes sense to play another show after our demise in the years to come, maybe we will, but don't count on it.
"Our 5th and final album, 'Apology, will become available sometime this year via Relapse Records, Cosmic Note and Deep Six Records. Thanks again, everybody.
"PS - below is what we have planned for 2016. There may be a few more shows added, but not many. If we are playing near you please come and say goodbye." More...
Violence In Ascension Inks Record Deal
Violence In Ascension just issued the following announcement about working on a new album and signing with Unable Records:
"2015 has been a year of preparing the new album by writing the tracks as well as the lyrics. Equally we did not fall short of traveling and playing shows both locally and up and down I-95 with some terrific bands. With any band, we made some business changes along the way for what we felt was in the best interests of the project. There are several things still being worked out administratively for us and we will release that moving forward.
"Regarding Unable Records, we are extremely excited to be working with them and have laid out some recording dates to get started. So for 2016, we kick off a show Jan 1 at Bar XIII and in studio Jan 2 at 0x1 Sound Studio in Cherry Hill. Other dates are also secured. We cant express enough our gratitude for Unable Music Group and our fans who continue to believe in us. We have many things to share in 2016 and hope to see you all."
Unable Records also issued this press release: "In the ultimate case of saving-the-best-for-last, Unable Records has rocked the American metal scene on the final day of the year. Violence in Ascension, the veteran metal band also known as VIA, has just inked a one album deal with Unable Records, a division of the Unable Music Group. The agreement calls for a full-length album, likely consisting of 10 brand new original songs, to be released later in 2016.
"VIA, who recently adopted their long-form name Violence in Ascension, are a well established staple in the East Coast metal scene. Since early 2012, VIA has released both an EP and a full-length album; the latter (From the Ashes - 2014) while signed to the North Carolina heavy metal label Dark Harvest Records. During that time the band has played a relentless show schedule, hitting stages from South Carolina to New York And as far west as Ohio, where they played the main stage for fans at Cleveland’s famed Rockapalooza. VIA has shared the stage with notable bands such as Texas in July, Attack! Attack! and The Devil Wears Prada. More...

"The focus in 2015 has been on touring. Some of the most extraordinary and memorable times were the Polish dates with Absolva, Skullfest Belgium, Wildfire Festival Scotland, the 'Willpower Over England' tour, Occultfest and supporting Y&T across the Netherlands.
"For 2016, a few shows in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and England have been announced already, but there is more in the making for a variety of European territories yet unconquered by Lord Volture. We will have some grand news coming soon!
"As to the next Lord Volture studio album, we have been working on some new tunes in between our touring schedule. We will use the year 2016 to further develop these songs and we should hit the studio in the Summer or the Fall. In short, many things to look forward to!

"Fast approaching 2016, we would like to say thanks to everyone for the ongoing support. We truly couldn't do this without you! This year saw us touring the west coast, playing Canada & Europe for the first time and playing plenty of awesome hometown gigs, but most importantly we have been hard at work writing material for the new album!
"That's why we are excited to announce that on January 18th we begin recording our Prosthetic Records Debut (and 3rd album) at Sharkbite studios in Oakland, CA. with Zack Ohren. Zack has done great work with our buddies in Exmortus & Midnight Chaser and we couldn't be more excited to start working with him.

"Last words 2015 - I know some people are waiting eagerly for the release of our next album. Truth is, that there are barriers inside the band - some personal tragedies and some things beyond.
"Truth is also, that music and lyrics are written for the next album. I even had the idea for a trilogy release. But that was a bit too naive thinking about that. I hope rehearsals for the next record will forge new bonds...
"Good news is that I will record the first album of my solo project Heavenly Half-Light together with WANWTS guitarist Joey Siedl. It will be a mixture of singer songwriter style and some shoegazing elements. Now I wish you all a brilliant start in 2016!"

Tantara Brings Back Former Guitarist
Following the recent departure of Isak Anakin Rosemarin, Tantara has now issued this announcement about bringing on former member Per Semb:
"Per Semb rejoins Tantara! Three days ago, our lead guitarist, Isak, decided to leave the band. Isak is a great guy and an amazing guitar player, so it was really sad to see him leave. He did some great work on our upcoming album. Because we do like guitar harmonies, we knew we had to find a new lead guitar player.
"We decided to contact one of the founding members, Per. Fortunately for us, Per accepted our invitation, and he is now a full time member of the band again, and he will join us on the rest of the writing and recording of our next album. We are thrilled to have him back of course, and we hope you are too."
Per had this to say: "I'm very happy to be a part of Tantara again, after a 3 year long break. Even though all of us have to focus on stuff like education and work, I will do my very best to participate on finishing the album that has been in progress for a while. I've listened to the material they made during my break, and I must say the guys have matured musically, I'm very proud of them, and it seems like we do have the same vision on how the new album should be and sound like. I'm very excited about this. 2016 will be good year!" More...
