Inter Arma Working On New Album
U.S. group Inter Arma just posted this message online to fans letting them know what to expect in the coming year:
"It's 2016. 2015 was a hell of a year for us. Thank you to Yautja, Kylesa, Indian Handcrafts, Irata and set and setting for sharing the road with us.
"Thank you to all of you who came to a show, gave us a place to stay, bought some merchandise, supplied us with food/drink/conversation/etc. It's all of you who keep us going. Thank you.
"Whats in store for 2016? FULL LENGTH #3. Touring. More touring. Stay tuned for more information. It'll be cool, we promise. 2015 was awesome, let's make 2016 even better. Peace."
That upcoming third full-length release will follow the "Sky Burial" album from 2013 and "The Cavern" EP from 2014. More...
Nordheim To Record New Album
Canadian folk metal group Nordheim just checked in with this update about plans to record a new album this year:
"So, we're finally sober enough to write something that make sense. We want thank you for your support in 2015 you've been great and we also want to wish you a Happy New Year and may everything you wish for come true.
"You probably have already noticed that we suck at social media. For 2016, we hope to change that but, you know, we said that last year.
"BUT, this year, we'll record a NEW ALBUM! FINALLY! Be ready because this one will be faster, heavier and the lyrics will be about important life stuff like boobs, bacon and dinosaurs."
We haven't heard any new music from Nordheim since the 2013 album "Refill" (remember how the awesome artwork spurred on some debate?). Stay tuned for more details as they are made available. More...
Haken Records New Album
Prog metal outfit Haken has a new album on the horizon to follow the "Restoration" EP from back in 2014. The band comments:
"Happy New Year, everyone! 2016 is apparently gonna be the year of the fire-breathing armoured Cerberus surrounded by green snakes! Looking forward to that....
"Thanks to everyone who made 2015 such an epic year for Haken. We played more shows than ever, including our first ever North American tour with the does-what-it-says-on-the-tin Next To None and a little helping of the legendary Spock's Beard.
"We played some crazy festivals including the outrageous Hellfest Open Air Festival and even got to have our faces blown to bits by Meshuggah in Barcelona! Not to mention a cheeky little support slot for Devin Townsend and Dream Theater. Yes, that actually happened!
"Our first ever tour of Scandinavia saw us opening for Neal Morse and his band full of total gents! We even got to join the insane Between The Buried And Me on their Coma Ecliptic tour across Europe! And to round the year off, we went on a little cruise with a bunch of our favourite bands, friends and fans!
"Oh, and we also wrote and recorded an album that will enter all of your ears soon whether you like it or not and before you know it, we're gonna be pestering you with tour dates, ticket links and more limited edition cassette tapes (or not) than you'll know what to do with! Roll on 2016! Roll on ?#?H4KEN?!" More...

Acheron Unveils New Logo
Vincent Crowley from Acheron just checked in with this statement about a new logo to herald a change in the band's future:
"With the New Year I have decided to change the official Acheron logo to symbolize a new chapter of the Acheron saga. Instead of getting a totally brand new design, I decided to combine the original logo created in 1988 with the well known one we have used in different variations for the last 2 decades.
"I hired artist Vojtech Moonroot to re-work the 2 logos together. He did a great job and his design will now be the final design in Acheron. It represents homage to the band’s past while showing a new exciting future. (You can contact him at moonrootartworks[at]gmail.com). So here it is! I hope you like it and will join us on our new journey into Darkness!" More...
