Crematory Announces New Album Release

For 25 years now, Germany's gothic metal act Crematory have enthralled countless fans at home and abroad. Since forming in 1991, the band has released twelve studio albums, in addition to a number of live recordings, singles, EPs and compilations.

Crematory's upcoming thirteenth studio album "Monument" is now scheduled for global release via Steamhammer/SPV on April 15th, 2016 as a digi/2LP/download. The following press release was issued about this upcoming album:

"Infinitely more strongly than on its predecessor 'Antiserum' (2014), the twelve tracks on 'Monument' are based on brute guitar riffs and hard-as-nails drum grooves, replete with sinister keyboard hooks and that mix of growls and clear vocals - some in English, some in German - that is so typical of this band. The group's fans will be thoroughly delighted with Monument and its dynamic sound.

"When the work on 'Monument' commenced in spring 2015, a personnel issue had to be settled in the Crematory camp: Matthias Hechler, guitarist, clear voice and a style-defining member for 17 years, had left the band for private reasons. His departure went off without animosity or internal quarrels was confirmed by Matthias in an interview on the Live At Wacken 2014 DVD. Following his decision, Crematory made a virtue out of necessity, enlisting two successors: Tosse Basler (Scapegoat, Avalanche) joined the fold as rhythm guitarist and clear vocalist, and Rolf Munkes is Crematory's new lead guitarist."

"Tosse and Rolf have brought a breath of fresh air to the band, they've really inspired us with their powerful style and phat guitar sounds," rejoices drummer Markus Jüllich, who composed the songs again with producer Kristian "Kohl" Bonifer before going on to produce them together at the Kohlekeller Studio. Dee Calhoun Signs With Argonauta

Argonauta Records is beyond proud to announce a new great name is now part of the family: Dee Calhoun - known to the masses as Screaming Mad Dee, the voice of doom metal legends Iron Man – will release his debut solo album "Rotgut" by late spring 2016.

Rotgut bears its moniker not only as a title, but as a frame of mind. "When I think of 'rotgut,'" Dee explains, "I think of something inexpensively produced, very unrefined, and that knocks you on your ass when you indulge in it. And the next day, you're still feeling it. This very much sums up my approach to this record. The songs on the album are very personal, and the acoustic approach suits them perfectly."

Argonauta adds: "As with most of Dee's material - which spans nearly 30 years - the songs on 'Rotgut' are (pardon the pun) from the gut, with no pretentiousness, and draw inspiration from the ongoing triumphs and struggles of everyday life. Mistakes, redemption, strength, and the knowledge that there are no promises, but only the eternal attempt to find happiness are just a few of the themes that the singer/songwriter from Frederick, MD present here. Massive Releasing "Destination Somewhere"

Coming on April 22nd, 2016 via Relapse Records, "Destination Somewhere" is the explosive follow-up to Massive's debut "Full Throttle." The label comments:

"Expanding on the breakneck sound of the debut, 'Destination Somewhere; is a scorching hot ten-track fury of Aussie rock 'n roll dynamite. Kicking off with the seriously badass riffage in the intro of ‘One For The Road,’ Massive let us know that the next 41 minutes are going to pull no punches.

"Title track 'Destination Somewhere’ creates an illusion of serenity with easy-on-the-ear guitar intro, before bursting into an aggressive head-banger’s anthem, whilst tracks like 'Blood Money Blues’ possess a rock n roll arrogance that few bands can pull off successfully. Frontman Brad Marr’s vocals reach new heights on this album, most notably on ’The Fall’ and ‘Made of Stone,' surpassing the debut and then some. Massive stick firmly to the rock 'n roll principles from ‘Full Throttle' whilst throwing in elements of grunge, alt-rock and psychedelia. 'Destination Somewhere’ is a white knuckle joy ride that is certain to get the adrenaline pumping!" More...

Sacrilegium Comments On Single Remixes

Sacrilegium's first concert in almost 20 years accompanies the upcoming release of the full-length "Anima Lucifera" coming via Pagan Records. The event will take place in Klub Protokultura in Gdansk, Poland on April 2nd, 2016.

To mark the band's return, Sacrilegium also recently released the "Angelus" single, which features several different remix interpretations of the track by other artists. Vocalist Nantur comments:

"Initially, 'Angelus' along with another track, was supposed to represent in what direction Sacrilegium is heading today. After some time I thought to add a promotional remix. From what I remember, our friends from ROD were the first choice.

"We have known each other for many years. ROD’s openness to different music genres and, especially, imagination guaranteed that their interpretation of our track would be very interesting. As it eventually turned out, our choice was brilliant.

"To our surprise, a few more of our friends were interested in offering their own interpretation of 'Angelus.' Juoni, from In Slaughter Natives, struggled the most with the track. I met him many years ago at one of his concerts in Prague. Our paths did not cross many times throughout all of these years but, nonetheless, I could get acquainted with the fruit of his work, which in no way disappoints. In Slaughter Natives was one of the flagship projects of my favourite record label, Cold Meat Industry, through which some of my friends also released their albums. To this day, together with Aldenon of Coph Nia I raise toasts to the Polish-Scandinavian Luciferian union. More...

Update: Ne Obliviscaris has now lined up several headlining shows to replace the cancelled starting dates of the tour. Full info available here.

The impending Ne Obliviscaris / Cradle Of Filth / Butcher Babies tour will be kicking off later than expected due to (what else?) visa issues. Ne Obliviscaris had this to say about the situation:

"Unfortunately we have received news that the first 4 shows of our tour - Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore and Raleigh - have been cancelled this week due to a delay in Cradle of Filth's U.S. visas.

"We personally have already landed in LA on our way to Philadelphia tonight and are shattered that we can't play to our fans in these cities... From what we understand, it is expected that this situation will be resolved in the next couple of days so that the rest of the tour goes ahead starting in Charlotte on Jan 31.

"We are so sorry to our fans in these cities who I know will be just as disappointed as we are. We are looking into options at present for any shows in the Pennsylvania tri-state and Mid-Atlantic areas in the meantime in case it's possible to get a show happening on such extremely short notice, and will keep you guys updated as soon as there is more news on our end. Either way, we are here in America, with our Visa's in hand, staying positive and ready to play for you all." More...

"Our debut EP 'Malicious Intent' is born of the collaboration of five misfits who never found a true home in the 'scene.' It is a mission statement that elaborates upon the sentiment that doing what you love is the only way to find true happiness, regardless of what others may think.

"The songs therein are written by us and for us. We aren't looking to 'break the mold' with our music, but rather, tell the truth. We are showing you what we are, as well as what we might become. If you happen to enjoy the music, well, that's just icing on the bong." More...

Amon Amarth Reveals New Album Details

On March 25th, the Swedish metal kings from Amon Amarth will unleash their 10th studio album, "Jomsviking," via Metal Blade Records (North America) / Sony Music (International).

"Jomsviking" - the band's first actual full concept record - tells a tragic tale of love and revenge, backed by the Swedes' trademark melodic, anthemic metal, which was produced and mixed once again by Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Testament, Accept) and also features special guest session drummer Tobias Gustafsson (Vomitory).

Front-man Johan Hegg explains: "The Jomsvikings were a shadowy and legendary sect of Viking mercenaries, as shrouded in myth now as they were when they fought across Europe and the Middle East. Ruthless and deadly warriors who fought for the highest bidder, their code was simple: Show no fear. Never retreat. Defend your brothers, and when called upon, avenge their deaths. I felt we were finally ready to use their story as the jumping off point for an Amon Amarth album. The Jomsvikings and their world is the background for the story of a young man that is in love with a girl but unfortunately she's being married off. He accidentally kills a man when this happens and he has to flee - but he swears to have revenge and win her back. He can't let go of the past. He feels that he's been wronged and his life has been destroyed. The way the story evolves is not a happy story."

Pre-order info is available here and the album's first music video can be seen below. The full track listing is as follows:

1. First Kill
2. Wanderer
3. On A Sea Of Blood
4. One Against All
5. Raise Your Horns
