Novembre Announces New Album

After a period of inactivity since 2007's "The Blue," which involved the departure of longstanding member Giuseppe Orlando, Novembre now returns with "URSA," a new set of potent and poignant tracks.

Headed by founding member and writer Carmelo Orlando, & with a reinvigorated musical alliance with Massimiliano Pagliuso, the line-up is completed by Fabio Fraschini (previously bassist on the "Materia" album), and David Folchitto on drums. There is also a special guest appearance from Anders Nystrom of Katatonia on this album, adding his own unique cold touch to the track "Annoluce."

"URSA" (the acronym for "Union des Republiques Socialistes Animales"), was the title initially chosen for the French translation of George Orwell's novel "Animal Farm." Lyrically and conceptually the album is a statement against the squalor of this Orwellian apocalypse we're committing towards the Earth and its sons, with indifference on a daily basis.

The album was recorded at Blue Noise Studio, and PlayRec studio by Massimiliano, then mixed and mastered at Unisound Studios by Dan Swano (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath), Cover art comes courtesy of Travis Smith. Set to drop April 1st, pre-orders are online here. More...

Statement Issued About Tera Wray's Death

Yesterday it was reported that Tera Wray - the widow of Static-X front man Wayne Static - had passed away from suspected suicide. Today the admin of the Wayne Static Facebook page issued this statement about the situation:

Love conquered all on the evening of Wednesday, January 13, 2016. After 14 months of separation by death, Tera Wray Static took fate into her own hands, and ended her life to be with the man she loved. So it is with heavy hearts we confirm her suicide. Her body was discovered by a friend whom she had been living with temporarily. The exact cause of death has yet to be released by the coroner's office, but a drug overdose has been ruled out.

Tera suffered from depression since the death of her husband, Wayne Static of Static-X, who passed on November 1, 2014. Close friends of the couple had this to say: "We are deeply saddened over the news, but feel a peace that she is together with her husband. The undeniable bond they had from the moment they met throughout their remaining years was an intense, true love that only few experience."

Tera was deeply loved by her friends and family, and we politely ask that their privacy is respected during this difficult time.

Wayne Static passed away in November of 2014, with the official cause of death on the coronoer's report listed as "mixed prescription drug (oxycodone, hydromorphone, alprazolam) with alcohol toxicity, hours, due to chronic prescription drug and alcohol abuse, years."

Snow Burial Streaming "Buried In Ash"

Chicago's post-metal trio Snow Burial will self-release the debut full-length album "Victory In Ruin" on February 1st, 2016.

Captured at Howl Street Studio in Milwaukee with engineer/owner Shane Hochstetler (Call Me Lightning, Zebras, Multiple Truths), over the course of eight tracks Snow Burial manifests a punishing yet beautiful amalgam of sludge, thrash, shoegaze and math rock.
