Wings Denied Vocalist To Miss Upcoming Tour

Wings Denied has issued the following statement about bringing on a session vocalist for upcoming tour dates:

This is not permanent, and we are working on getting him back here as soon as possible.

Abaddon Working On New Album

Canada's Abaddon just issued the following announcement about recruiting a new member and working on an upcoming album:

"Goodbye 2014, it was a good year. Now onto the next one, 2015 will hopefully be a good year for us, we have a lot of stuff planned, and can't wait to share all of our new music with all the fans.

"We are working hard on getting our new album ready to go, but progress is tough with drummer being as sick as he is, but we're doing our best, and we will have something new before this new year is out!

"But enough about us, what does everyone have planned for the new years? Gonna work off that beer gut? Maybe you'll start rollerblading? Please don't start rollerblading. Do something cool like skateboarding. Have some self respect. Cmon.

"Much love,

"The guys at Abaddon.

"PS: We have some news about a fill in guitarist, its still in the 'To be announced' stages but we'll have that for you guys soon! We think you might recognize him if you like local BC metal."

Chiefs Streaming "Like A Match"

Today Noisey.Vice.com is hosting the premiere of "Like A Match," the first peek into the debut Chiefs album, "Tomorrow's Over." Give it a listen below.

Chiefs originally began as a two-piece back in January of 2012 in Phoenix, AZ, but after years of releasing demos, touring and playing often around the Phoenix Valley, the duo made the decision to relocate to San Diego, CA.

Shortly after, they released a four-song demo entitled "Buffalo Roam," and did numerous short west coast tours to support it. Eventually the group became a three piece with the permanent addition of bassist Jeff Podeszwik, who filled out the low-end of the band and transformed their sound.

Hot off the heels of releasing a split 7" with Fuzz Evil through Battleground Records, Chiefs returns with a debut full-length record in the bag, entitled "Tomorrow's Over." It was recorded at Arcane Digital Recording Studio in Chandler AZ and recorded, mixed, and mastered by Ryan Butler (Landmine Marathon/Unruh).

The record will be out on February 24th through Roosevelt Row Records on CD/DD, with a vinyl reissue through Battleground Records shortly thereafter. More...

Alissa White-Gluz Comments On Touring Lifestyle

Revolver Magazine recently unveiled the January 2015 "Metal Health" issue, featuring fitness secrets heavy metal stars - including Alissa White-Gluz, front-woman of Arch Enemy.

Available on newsstands now, this special issue sees Alissa on the cover alongside Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein.

In the world of heavy music, fitness is the new debauchery; more rockers are forgoing drugs, drinks, and STDs to work out and eat right. As an animal rights activist and vegan, Alissa follows a rigorous diet and healthy lifestyle, sans drugs and alcohol.

Alissa comments: "Touring is so rough on the body and mind that I'm always happy to see people on tour taking care of themselves. If everyone knew how health conscious most rockers are, the whole 'drugs and rock n' roll' stereotype would be shattered. To be able to maintain a rigorous touring schedule like we do in Arch Enemy, we all need our bodies to be healthy-- we are like athletes! I have enormous respect for anyone giving their all in mind, body and art every night!" More...

Phil Labonte "Nothing Edgy About Metal Anymore"

All That Remains will release 7th album, titled "The Order Of Things," this coming February 24th via Razor & Tie. In anticipation of the new album Revolver magazine had a chat with front man Phil Labonte.

Some excerpts of the interview:

Asked if he wanted "The Order Of Things" to be more commercial than "A War You Cannot Win", Labonte states: "No. As lame as it sounds, we just wanted to write what we like to hear. There's some really heavy stuff on this record. We're not the kind of band that ever wants to say, "Does this sound like us? If you're looking at music as something you do because you enjoy it, then whatever you write can't help but sound like you. And I really don't care what people call us. As long as the songs are good, that's all that matters — whether they're poppy or heavy. The fact that we've had a career this long and come from a genre that's seen its fair share of bands come up and go down, speaks for a good outcome of that philosophy." More...
