Lae Shooting Two New Videos

Montreal's psychedelic post-rock quintet Lae has put two brand new videos into construction for release over the coming months as the deluxe 2xLP version of debut LP, "Break The Clasp," is about to hit the pressing plant for an early Springtime release.

A visual depiction of the diverse track "Sister," which features some of the heaviest moments on "Break The Clasp" and one of the few scathing deliveries from vocalist Steve Austin (Today Is The Day) on the album, has been commissioned to David Hall of Handshake Inc. (Brutal Truth, Today is the Day, Maryland Deathfest: the Movie).

Additionally, the members of Lae are working on a video for the album's magnificently heartbreaking "To Give You The Stars Above" anthem in-house.

Both new visual accompaniments to "Break The Clas"p will see release late this Winter / early Spring, just as Lae prepares to release the mammoth vinyl edition of the album. You can also stream the release in full below. More...

Wrath Of Vesuvius Signs With Unique Leader

California technical death metal collective Wrath Of Vesuvius, now more commonly known as Wrvth, recently joined forces with extreme metal powerhouse Unique Leader Records for the release of a third full-length this Spring.

Established in 2007, Wrvth self-financed the 2009 "A World In Peril" EP followed by 2010 debut long player, "Portals Through Ophiuchus," before piquing the interest of Mediaskare Records who released sophomore rager, "Revelation," in 2013.

Following two years of maniacal tour schedules, personnel shifts, and a wholly matured approach to the sound, Wrath Of Vesuvius will drop a self-titled third offering this Spring. Comments the band:

"We are beyond excited to be working with Unique Leader Records. They have always had cutting edge heavy bands that stand out among the modern metal scene. They're a solid label which means a lot these days, and we couldn't have asked for a better partner in taking our next step. We took a fresh approach to writing this record and its really starting to come together. This band has changed a lot over the last few years, and we think this record will display the distinctive character and eclectic personality that we bring to each song."

In related Wrath Of Vesuvius missives, the band will level stages alongside tech death behemoths/labelmates Inanimate Existence on a two-plus week takeover. The Enter Into Atonement Tour 2015 is scheduled for liftoff on February 26th in Stockton, California and will wind through eighteen cities with additional onstage demolitions will be announced in the coming months. Tod Huetet Uebel Releasing New Album

Possession Productions presents the Portuguese-British artistic chimera Tod Huetet Uebel, that combines misanthropic black metal and dark ambient music. The label comments:

"The first full-length album 'Malicia' will be released soon in limited edition. The design of a 6-panel Digi-CD created by extravagant Parisian Jean-Emmanuel 'Valnoir' Simoulin. It was he who perfectly designed artworks for more than 150 bands, including Alcest, Antaeus, Behemoth, The Black Dahlia Murder, Solstafir, Ascension, Der Blutharsch, Laibach, Morbid Angel, Paradise Lost, Peste Noire, Taake, Ulver and Watain. It is the artist who painted blood and paint from human bones in the modern world. He is the only who could display the dark essence of the 'Malicia' album in the visual form!

"No doubt that the album would be liked by those who seek a genuine darkness in music. Difficult music, but straightforward in its message. And really atmospheric. Deathspell Omega, Abigor, Blut Aus Nord, and Secrets Of The Moon can become reference points for illumination in damp dungeons soundscapes of Tod Huetet Uebel, and we guarantee that this band has its own face. Albeit for most people it is rather face of disfigured monster that reflecting in the steel scythe. A monster, which comes to everyone in the end of his life...."

"Seven years have passed since the band's last opus, 2008's 'Tourments & Perdition.' Seven years that have allowed the band to build a very personal and audacious album, where black metal from the beginning merges with a more experimental and dissonant metal of Virus, Leprous, Hail Spirit Noir, and and some prog rock influences, with French-only lyrics. Pre-orders will start on February 16th." More...

Halshug Enacts "Total Destruktion"

The nightmare continues with news of "Blodets Bånd," the caustic debut LP from Copenhagen raw punks Halshug, which will be unchained by Southern Lord on February 24th.

As the street date closes in, today, Cvlt Nation unloads the first single from the riotous album, with the sixth track, "Total Destruktion." Give it a listen below. Southern Lord also comments:

"Halshug (which translates to 'decapitate') is fast becoming known within Europe's hallowed DIY routes and enclaves for their impeccably executed hardcore crust, which pays furious tribute to their rich K-town heritage and crucially adds an abrasive modern stomp. With searing distortion, radical d-beat pace and overblown, reverb-soaked vocals, Halshug leaves no room for subtlety or second-guessing across the eight tracks of their first full-length effort, 'Blodets Bånd.' Watch as 'Blodets Bånd" engulfs the world in flames."

The new album's track listing is as follows:

1. Gudsforladt
2. Afmagt
3. Inferno
4. Knæl
5. Blodets Bånd

Enslaved Posts Album Trailer

"In Times" is the title of the thirteenth studio album by Norwegian progressive extreme metal band Enslaved.

The hand-painted artwork was created by Truls Espedal, and the band just released the first album trailer detailing the development of the artwork - watch as Truls walks you through the painting process below.

Truls Espedal states: “Working with oil paint and a deadline can be somewhat aggravating, and I learned that red paint takes really really long to dry! But I almost made the deadline finishing three paintings and layout, all the time with 'In Times' on the stereo. I've played the album closer to two hundred times by now, and I find it to be more in every way. It sounds potent and fresh, and the tracks are just fucking inspirational. So, I went for more as well.

"I wanted the cover to have more atmosphere, starker contrasts and be more subtle yet dramatic. Ivar and Grutle's concept allowed me to add new elements and be more experimental, without wanting to leave the familiar. It also allowed for more diversity through the cover, especially the vinyl. The three paintings for this release range from figurative work to very stylised, almost abstract, expanding upon the front cover. The process was also a bit different; more dynamic. A lot of the artwork was improvised, which is not typical me. I enjoyed it. And I feel I'm getting the hang of the oil paint now, so I'm really excited for next time.”

Frontman Grutle Kjellson adds: "I just love the album cover. I honestly think this is the best artwork I have ever seen. That is of course because Truls has developed the ability to transform me and Ivar’s, often surreal, concepts and ideas into an actual painting. This painting is the perfect projection of our lyrics, it even extends the written words. This is a picture of mythology, life, death and time. Truls has made a masterpiece, we have made the soundtrack." More...

King Parrot Gearing Up For U.S. Tour

The Australian thrash grind miscreants from King Parrot will return to the stage this March on another North American rash of live devastations.

Slated to embark on March 21st in Austin, Texas, King Parrot will march through two dozen cities supporting bong metal perpetrators, Weedeater, with the passage coming to a close on April 18th in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Metal Injection-sponsored tour follows the band's ten-date run through Europe (also supporting team Weedeater).

Declares the band, "We're honored to be heading out with the legendary Weedeater. We've heard only awesome reports about this great band live, and we can't wait to have our own chapter in the folklore of Dixie Dave and company.

"All the people working behind the scenes on this tour have been excited about pairing our bands for some time, so I'm sure this will be one for the ages! Expect all the crazy shit you would at a high octane punk or metal show, and then times it by ten, as I'm positive both bands will bring their proverbial A game.

Garden Of Worms To Release New Album

Svart Records today sets March 6th as the international release date for Garden of Worm's second album, "Idle Stones."

Garden of Worm is a trio operating in Tampere, Finland. Having played progressive rock in various groups, in 2003, the group decided it was time to play simple & basic doom metal. Thus, the Worm was born. After releases on several metal labels, the latest being a self-titled debut album for Shadow Kingdom Records in 2010, the band went into hibernation.

Garden of Worm's debut for Svart, "Idle Stones" is a product of this long period of quiet life. After the ambitious debut full-length, the band was unsure for a time regarding the direction this art would take next. Slowly, the doomier, grimmer material allowed improvisation to creep in, and the entire work has a newfound sense of spontaneity.

In 2015, Garden of Worm is a different beast than the creature of the early days. The band sounds more inspired and relaxed than ever. The new album's track listing is:

1. Fleeting are the Days of Man
2. Summer's Isle
3. Desertshore
4. The Sleeper including Being Is More Than Life

Nocturnus Teaches "The Science Of Horror"

Nuclear War Now! Productions has announced March 13th as the international release date for Nocturnus' "The Science of Horror" collection. The label comments:

"Although he played a pivotal role in the emergence of the early U.S. death metal movement as both a co-founder of Morbid Angel and a member of Incubus in the mid-to-late 1980s, Mike Browning's legacy is most inextricably tied to his involvement in Nocturnus in the late '80s and early '90s.

"In 1990, Nocturnus revolutionized death metal with the release of its first full-length album, The Key, which, for the first time in the history of the subgenre, incorporated keyboards as an essential element of a death metal band's sound. During a critical three-year period prior to the release of this album, Nocturnus developed this unique sound, as documented by two demo recordings, entitled Nocturnus and The Science of Horror, which were disseminated on cassette format in typically limited numbers in 1987 and 1988, respectively.

"The second of these demos, in particular, contains embryonic versions of several songs that would eventually be re-recorded for inclusion on The Key. However, as tends to be the case with demo recordings, these versions represent a significantly more primitive musical vision as compared to the more polished recordings on the ensuing album.

"In celebration and commemoration of the Nocturnus appearance at the NWN! Fest Vol. IV in November of 2014, Nuclear War Now! first offered a reissue of both Nocturnus demos on a single picture LP, limited to 100 copies and only available at the festival. Following closely on the heels of this picture-disc reissue, Nuclear War Now! is proud to once again offer both demos together on a single vinyl release, aptly titled The Science of Horror. More...

Akasava Releasing Debut EP

Akasava, a new face to the occult-psych metal scene, will release debut ritual EP "Strange Aeons" in the late Spring of 2015. The following press release was also issued about the band:

"The French have a pedigree in music almost as notable as their taste in film. So when one draws from the other, you can be sure the atmosphere is electric. Make no mistake, occult rockers Akasava pick their influences well: the playful surrealism of Jean Rollin (The Shiver of the Vampires/The Nude Vampire) meets the 70s horror of Jess Franco (Vampyros Lesbos/Exorcism).

"Musically speaking, Akasava also draw from that hazy era of psych and prog in the 60s and 70s. Extraordinary bands ahead of their time, such as 13th Floor Elevators, Jacula and Devil Doll, clash with more modern acts like Blood Ceremony, Purson and Kadavar.

"Despite adoring this occult and ancient sound, Akasava are as fresh-faced as they come: they formed in July 2014, four highly motivated souls finding much common ground, and quickly joining forces to jam out the creativity within them. Now, less than a year later, an EP is coming to light. Entitled Strange Aeons, it's as much an homage to that era as it is pushing the sound forward in new and intriguing directions."

Akasava is:

Louis Hauguel - Vocals, Lyrics
Arnold Lucas - Guitars, Organ
Amélie Gavalda - Bass Guitar
David Touroul - Drums More...

Italy's notorious black/doom metal band Forgotten Tomb is on the final lap of the recording process of a new installment, having recently completed mixing duties in Sound Suite Studios (Marseille, France) with producer Terje Refsnes (Carpathian Forest, Novembre, Gehenna, Destroyer 666). Forgotten Tomb's leader Ferdinando "Herr Morbid" Marchisio commented:

"We are extremely proud of how this new album came out. We worked really hard, like never before. Terje Refsnes is a really experienced producer and he managed to get the best out of us.

"We kept the sound very organic and natural, kinda old-fashioned but still very fresh. The new songs are heavy as fuck and they feature our classic trademark plus some new elements. It's a good mix of melancholy, groove and pure malignancy. I can't wait for people to listen to it, 'cause it's a really special album for us and probably the most extreme we did in quite a while, both musically and conceptually."

The band's eighth studio album will be mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studio (Corrosion Of Conformity, Nails, Vallenfyre, Beastmilk, High On Fire) in Portland (Oregon, USA). A Spring release date via Agonia Records is expected. Further details will be announced shortly.
