Oath Releases "Sorrow Society" Video

Oath has a new music video out for the track "Sorrow Society," which can be seen below, and the band also comments:

"We wrote this song about how when you turn on the TV, or open up a newspaper in America, you're constantly subjected to a barrage of violence, plague, war, death, and hatred.

"This is shoved down our throats throughout the media every single day by the people that the public seem to idolize. However, no one is satisfied until they're able to spew their own opinions on the matter, which ultimately just creates a chain reaction of more conflict and judgement."

The band also just announced a performance on the third day of the seventeenth annual New England Metal & Hardcore Festival at The Palladium in Worcester, MA. More...

Hate Releases New Video

Extreme metal machine Hate has released an official video for the song "Valley of Darkness" from the upcoming opus "Crusade:Zero."

The clip, which is today premiered courtesy of Decibel Magazine, was filmed, edited, and produced by Redpig Production in Poland during November and December 2014. Commented vocalist/guitarist Atf Sinner:

"While you wait for 'Crusade:Zero' to attack your senses quite soon, we give you this blasphemous and haunting picture for the song 'Valley of Darkness.' I chose this song as a first glimpse into 'Crusade' because of its morbid seriousness and blasphemous atmosphere which, I believe, constitutes a main foundation for the album. The song is a Requiem for the civilization as we know it. All you do is 'following a death cult caravan through valley of darkness....' Enjoy!" More...

Cold Snap Posts New Music Video

Cold Snap has partnered with Bloody-Disgusting.com to release a new music video for the song "Silent Killer" (also available below).

The song comes off third studio album "World War 3," slated for release on January 13th. In this video, the members of Cold Snap are held captive like rats by a mad scientist in his laboratory. He tries to poison them, however… the band fight back with music!

“From my point of view, a silent killer lives inside every one of us as our conscience. With most people, whenever they do something bad their conscience will haunt them until they manage to straighten things up” says bass guitarist Zoran ‘Zoki’ Ernoic. “Some people however, simply do not have a conscience, and therefore karma always must step in and get them in the end.”

The video was directed by Tin Majnaric of MMstudio23, and filmed in the band’s hometown of Varazdin, Croatia. Vocalist Jan Kerekes continues, “We also had a small problem with the cockroaches, they are fast little critters and they don`t give a hoot about being on camera. They kept escaping and hiding from us!” More...

Godhunter Streaming Nirvana Cover

The Compound and Battleground Records are preparing for the early 2015 release of "The Outer Dark," a collaborative 7" from Tucson's Godhunter and Miami's Amigo The Devil.

Today Noisey.Vice.com has premiered the collective's homage to Nirvana with the B-side cover of "Something In The Way." Give it a listen below.

With an ominous, acoustic, folk/Western musical theme far removed from Godhunter's abrasive hardcore/crust-influenced sludge tones, here the quintet is joined by one Danny Kiranos, a.k.a. Amigo The Devil, who supplies soaring vocals and ethereal theremin contributions to the two-song 7".

Delivered at 45RPM on quality black wax for maximum clarity, the A-side's "Weeping Willow" is a fully original, ill-omened ballad from the collective, while the B-side is a bleak rendition of Nirvana's "Something In The Way."

The record was recorded in multiple sessions during the Summer of 2014 at Arcane Digital Studios in Chandler, Arizona, and was produced, mixed and mastered by Ryan Butler. "The Outer Dark" will see release on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2015. More...

Sound Storm Issues Album Update

Sound Storm has issued the following update about working on a new full-length album:

"We are excited to announce that we are finally nearly to accomplish the making of the new album, coming out later this year!

"Currently we are ending with a bang all the pre-productions in our studio, later on we will enter the Sandlane Recording Facilities along with the amazing Joost Van Der Broek (Epica, Ayreon, Mayan, Anneke Van Giesbergen, etc) for starting the production.

"The new chapter took a long time to see the light for many reasons. Firstly because of many shadows and lights along our path, lately. Luckily, everything's been fixed yet. Then, we surely needed a bit more time to find out a new way to create something new and innovative, something to be proud of.

"However here we are, finally stronger and louder than ever: this is something never experienced before by us (and by you, we hope!), that's not just a - epic, symphonic, experimental and, of course, metal - album, but that's something more...

"By the way, we have updated our social media list, as we added Tumblr and Instagram to the other ones, in order to post every now and then a detailed studio report as the works go by. Keep this in your mind: 'follow the dragonfly to discover a new World...,' and you will experience something new. Does not matter where you will find that, just follow.

"More details to come soon, even about the new singer of course! In the meantime enjoy the amazing new logo and symbol, created by our old friend Gustavo Sazes. See you in Germany in the upcoming weekend, along with the mighty Haggard again!"

You can also see the band live on these date:

8. Jan. - Leipzig, Theaterfabrik
9. Jan. - Hamburg, Markthalle
10. Jan. - Berlin, K17

Negura Bunget Releasing New Album

Prophecy Productions has announced March 3rd as the North American release date for Negura Bunget's new album, "Tau." The label comments:

"With Tau, these Romanian folk/black metal pioneers not only present the long-awaited successor to 2010's Virstele Pamintului, but also their first album for Lupus Lounge / Prophecy Productions with genuinely new song material.

"Tau also marks the beginning of Negura Bunget's ambitious 'Transilvanian Trilogy,' a sonic and visual tribute to the band's home country. While this first part highlights Romanian nature, parts two and three will deal with man, his traditions and practices as well as spiritual elements.

"On Tau, each of the eight songs represents a specific natural landscape with its unique atmosphere and mystique, its legends and meanings. Musically, Negura Bunget stick to their familiar range of sounds with both primal, harsh black metal elements and their meditative, folkloristic counterparts.

"Adding to their ever-wide array of instruments, Negura Bunget add a trumpet and other brass for the first time ever, all of which enhance the group's aural scope in an original way. Highlighting its distinctive character, the album boasts guest appearances by illustrious musicians such as Rune Eriksen (ex-Mayhem; guitars on 'Impodobeala Timpului') and Sakis Tolis (Rotting Christ; vocals on 'Tarim Vilhovnicesc')."

The track listing is as follows:

1. Nametenie

Ithaqua Releasing Demo On Cassette

Continuing the label's quest to unearth the darkest, gnarliest gems of the metal underground, Iron Bonehead Productions is proud to present Ithaqua's debut demo, "Initiation to Obscure Mysteries," due out February 27th.

Hailing from Greece, this brand-new duo honor their homeland's ancient black metal tradition - think earliest Rotting Christ and Varathron - by creating pulsing monoliths of arcane mysticism and epic heavy metal might.

In fact, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Initiation to Obscure Mysteries is a lost demo from the Greek scene circa 1992, such is its authentic adherence to this proud tradition, even down to the Storm Studios-esque production.

Niburta Releasing New EP

Hungarian outfit Niburta will release the "ReSet" EP this coming January 10th, 2015. The band comments:

"We aimed to surpass our last album 'Scream from the East' in 2012, not in length, but absolutely in quality. Unfortunately, the recordings and the mastering process took too long, but it was worth it, because we enriched the songs with new ideas, instruments and motives from time to time.

"We were never comfortable with them for a long time, so we added something. We preserved Niburta’s essence and elevated it to a next level at the same time. This EP stands as a bridge connecting our first album and our next one / in progress /, which might be found under the Christmas tree this year.

"The record won’t have a physical form, it will only be available on the Internet. You can listen to them on Youtube, or download them from known major sites. A specialty of the EP that it features three guest musicians/friends, namely: Klaartje Julia, Ana Capalija and Dou Kalender. The latter, frontman of Gürz can be heard in Evolution. Recordings were mainly done at Old Busó studio, mastering was done by the band’s own guitarist, János Krieser." More...
