"Fear Clinic" Coming To DVD

After terrifying audiences from coast to coast – the closing night event at ScreamFest 2014 Los Angeles and opening night screening at 2014 New York City Horror Film Festival – "Fear Clinic" will now be released on Blu-ray and DVD on February 10th, 2015 by Anchor Bay Entertainment.

The flick stars horror icon Robert Freddy Krueger Englund, Fiona Dourif, Angelina Armani, Thomas Dekker, as well as Stone Sour and Slipknot lead vocalist Corey Taylor in his acting debut, and is directed by Robert G. Hall ("Lightning Bug," "Laid to Rest," "ChromeSkull: Laid To Rest II").

With special effects by award-winning FX creators Robert Kurtzman and Steve Johnson, "Fear Clinic" will take viewers on an unforgettable journey into the very soul of terror itself. Co-written by Hall and Aaron Drane, the film is based on the 2009 FEARnet.com series.

When trauma-induced phobias begin to re-emerge in five survivors a year after their horrifying tragedy, they return to the “Fear Clinic,” hoping to find the answers they need to get cured.

Dr. Andover (Robert Englund), a doctor who runs the clinic, uses his fear chamber to animate their fears in the form of terrifying hallucinations. However, the good doctor soon begins to suspect that something more sinister may be at work, something that yearns to be more than just a hallucination...

Antigama Recording New Album

Polish grindcore merchants Antigama will enter Pawel “Janos” Grabowski's JNS Studio in Warsaw this month to begin recording the first new material since 2013's “Meteor.”

The new record entitled “The Insolent” will make another step outside the genre to explore new sound territories. As on “Meteor,” the mastering will be done by Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer / Agoraphobic Nosebleed at his Visceral Sound studio in Bethesda, MD.

Vocalist Lukasz Myszkowski comments: "The most exciting is what lies before us so I'm not trying to close any vision. I see it as a form still plastic and I see it as the most interesting. The matter is very thorny and dry and I think this is a good platform to what is going to change in the reception of our music. Every aspect will be regarded separately and it will be a construction of the new sound, not any return."

Upcoming new album “The Insolent” will be released late Spring 2015 on SelfMadeGod Records, with full details forthcoming.

Sunday Old School: Holocaust

Last year, MetalUnderground took a look at the history and legacy of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which included a personal top ten of bands from the movement. There were of course, far more than ten great bands at the time and it was mentioned in the article that some bands that didn’t make it into the list were of very high quality. One such band hailed from the Scottish capital city of Edinburgh and definitely made its own stamp on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. That band was Holocaust.

The band began life in 1977, comprising of guitarists John Mortimer and Ed Dudley, vocalist Gary Lettice, bassist Robin Begg and drummer Nick Brockie. They formed at an opportune time, allowing them to become swept up in the growing popularity of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, a time where record labels were searching for any metal bands they could, though instead of opting to sign with a company, the group formed their own label, Phoenix Record And Filmworks and released two singles, "Heavy Metal Mania" and "Smokin' Valves," before releasing their debut full length album, "The Nightcomers" in 1981. The record was very well received by heavy metal fans and remains one of the most popular albums of the NWOBHM era, featuring the two previously released singles as well as such songs as "Death or Glory" and the title track.
