Fashion Week Releasing New LP
French noise rock specialists Solar Flare Records today confirmed the impending Winter release of the new LP from long-running NYC-based power trio, Fashion Week. Entitled "Prêt-à-Porter," the album will be unveiled on digital and vinyl formats this coming February 23rd, 2015.
Fashion Week was formed by singer/guitarist Joshua Lozano and bassist Oscar Rodriguez in Brooklyn, New York in 1987, and over the years went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting being Carl Eklof, who joined the band in 1990, after the disbanding of DC hardcore icons Shout.
In the late '80s, Fashion Week established itself as part of the New York noise scene, releasing its first album, "Clorox," through the independent record label Under Pop in 1989. The band eventually came to develop a sound that relied on dynamic contrasts, often between pummeling verses and loud, catchy choruses. After signing to major label David Muffin Records, Fashion Week found unexpected success with "Smells Like Old Spice," the first single from the band's second album "Fuhgeddaboudit", released in 1991. The band's third studio album, "In Uterus," was released in 1993, and challenged the group's audience, featuring an abrasive, less-mainstream sound.
Fashion Week's brief run ended following the death of Josh Lozano in 1994, but various posthumous releases have been issued since, overseen by Rodriguez, Eklof, and Lozano's widow, Catherine Lust.
Fashion Week is Josh Lozano (Jarboe, Cobalt, Family), Carl Eklof (Victory at Sea, Lidia Stone, Inswarm) and Oscar Albis Rodriguez (A Great Big World, No Way, Nakatomi Plaza). The "Prêt-à-Porter" track listing is as follows:
1. Fendi Bender
2. Chorusace
3. Meek Is Miznabble
4. Summer Line
5. Fur Free Friday
6. Klosstrophobia

Arbitrator Posts New Song
Decibel Magazine has teamed up with Arbitrator to premiere latest track "They Will Worship This Fire of Agony."
The track comes off the band's upcoming debut album "Indoctrination of Sacrilege," due out on February 13th. Check out the newly released song below. Band founder Robert Kukla also comments:
"Those that hunger for massive, anthemic-like death metal of the blasphemous variety will be pleased to find indulgence within ‘They Will Worship This Fire of Agony’. Grand orchestras compliment an onslaught of pummeling rhythms with distorted guitars, and unearthly vocals chime in the grand apocalypse in this electronically infused opus. This was the obvious ‘album-opener’ choice, as I felt it gave listeners a well-balanced introduction into the Arbitrator sound."
The album was produced by Sacha Laskow (ex-Divinity, Every Hour Kills) plus mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy) along with album artwork done by Colin Marks (Exodus, Scar Symmetry, Jeff Loomis). The track listing is:

Embryo Details Self-Titled Third Album
Italian melodic death metal act Embryo detailed the upcoming new release "Embryo," which will feature guest drums by Fleshgod Apocalypse drummer Francesco Paoli. The band's third studio effort is set for release on February 10th, 2015 via logic(il)logic Records.
The album is described as "a step forward in the evolution of the band: the mechanical death metal riffs that characterized 'No God Slave' [2010] gained depth and melodic accents without losing heaviness and impact; musical arrangements have become more complex going from classical instruments and symphonic choirs to electronic noises and samples, giving the songs new hints at every new listening."
Lyrically, “Embryo” is a descent into the maelstrom of human soul 'til the door to the abyss that is the denial of being part of mankind. The influences are the same: Meshuggah, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, but with a complete refusal of vocal melodies and a singular arrangements approach.
The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Empyrios, The Modern Age Slavery, Vision Divine...). The sound is heavy, modern, balanced, a fist of death metal that will blast your stereo and your ears!
The track list for the album is:
1. An Awkward Attempt
2. The Pursuit Of Silence
3. Manipulate My Consciousness
4. Insane Lucidity
5. The End Of The Beginning

The track hails from the band's debut album, "Iron Scorn," set for international release on February 20th via At War With False Noise and Unholy Anarchy.
Conceived, constructed, and assembled in 2012 by the demented minds of -M- (axe/machinery: Japanese) and -R- (vokills: Italian) and lurking within the inhuman megalopolis of Tokyo, Legion of Andromeda is blessed by the will of total war.
Sculpted in reiteration, repetition, and cyclical rotation, Legion of Andromeda’s impenetrable cacophony outbursts the breath of cosmic frost: raw, minimal, brutal; primitive, obtuse, barbaric. The new album's track listing is:

Saturnalia Temple Sets New Album Release Date
Today The Ajna Offensive sets April 7th as the North American release date for Saturnalia Temple's second album, "To the Other." The label had this to say:
"Saturnalia Temple is black magic metal, a dark spiritual vortex rooted in heavy and hypnotic sounds, a pure voice of the Draconian magical tradition now further harnessed with To the Other.
"As a band that moves intently and without compromise, this recording and production was done in their own studio, Sitra Ahra, located in the forests outside Uppsala, Sweden.
"Since its release, Saturnalia Temple's critically acclaimed Aion of Drakon debut took the band to numerous major festivals throughout Europe, including Roadburn, Hell’s Pleasure, and Heavy Days in Doomtown, as well as on tours in both the U.S. and Europe.
"The strong occult and dark magical backbone is more prevalent than ever on To the Other, and as a band that actually started before the current 'occult rock' trend, there are no fetishistic hoods, blood, or pentagrams. To The Other is instead a relentless journey through the downfall of the world and the rise of the individual striving against the grain.
"As a title, To The Other signifies that it is a gift from the band to both the Other Side and to all that is in the shadows, the other side of existence, that which has been neglected by the everyday world of light. American drummer Tim Call (Alderbaran, Howling Wind, Nightfell) brings his experience and power to Saturnalia Temple on this recording. The cover art was created by Manuel Tinnemans (The Devil's Blood, Deathspell Omega, Necros Christos)."

Tearing down the barriers of extreme metal limitations, Code takes a daring plunge into the unknown delivering a dynamic progressive post-rock album that is sure to cause a stir.
On the new album, the band commented: "mut is the sound of us as a band freeing ourselves not just from the confines of what Code is, but from genre conventions of any description. The time for conforming has past and we have created an album that is the purest distillation of our creative ambition. This is the first time in the history of the band that we have created music with no reference points and as a result, this is our most stark, intimate and emotional album".

The Agonist Releases New Music Video
Montreal's The Agonist will release the new album "Eye of Providence" on February 24th in North America and February 23rd in Europe via Century Media Records. "Eye of Providence" is the follow up to the 2012 album "Prisoners" and will mark the debut of new vocalist Vicky Psarakis. The band has just completed the official video for "Gates of Horn and Ivory," which can be viewed in the player below.
Guitarist Danny Marino had this to say about the video: "We had a great time shooting the 'Gates of Horns and Ivory' video with our good friend and long time collaborator David Brodsky. It was great to finally have a video where we get to laugh at ourselves as well! If you've ever met the band you would know were not always as serious as our music may let on. The title and lyrics of Gates of Horn and Ivory were inspired by the ancient Greek text The Odyssey. It is said that within dreams should you see something enter through gates made of horn you can know it to be true in life. If the gates are ivory that it is a deception, and in life you should not trust whatever you saw come through those gates. It's a very interesting concept and I adapted it to things I have witnessed in my life. For the video we decided to use the music industry as the setting for the duality of horn (truth) and ivory (deception)."
The track list for "Eye of Providence" is:
1. Gates of Horn and Ivory
2. My Witness, Your Victim
3. Danse Macabre
4. I Endeavor
5. Faceless Messenger

Enabler Begns Recording New Album
Ohio-based hardcore/metal outfit Enabler has entered Silver Bullet Studios with engineer Chris Tet and producer Greg Thomas (Misery Signals, Shai Hulud), who also produced the band's critically acclaimed album, "All Hail The Void" (2012). Mastering will be done by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering. An early summer 2015 release date is planned.
Enabler's Jeff Lohrber comments: "It's been great working with Greg Thomas again. Greg is a former guitarist of the band, in addition to producing our debut full-length, 'All Hail the Void'. I thought it was key to work with a producer who is not only a brilliant engineer, but also understands the band's sound. We've done this before, so there's a lot of fresh ideas coming out-- some things we wanted to try previously but didn't have the time for, as well as a lot of reflection on the previous material of everything that we love about it as well as everything that we think needed to change. The collection of songs on this record is the most dense and diverse that I've written for Enabler-- at times it is the band at its heaviest and most destructive moments, and at times is the most melodic and heartfelt it's ever been. There is also a general love for punk and traditional rock and roll that comes out on this record that the band hasn't quite done before, with a lot of black metal style undertones hidden beneath it. The record just sounds scary, but very listenable at the same time. I'm always excited for every release the band puts out, but I think this one takes the cake on anything the band has done previously. I can't wait for everyone to hear it."
To hear new material from ENABLER, be sure to catch the band on their upcoming co-headlinging North American tour with Call of the Void. Dates and venues can be found over here. More...
Abominator Announces Comeback Release
Hells Headbangers Records announced that the comeback release "Evil Proclaimed" from Australian blackened death metal act Abominator will be released internationally on March 24th.
After nine years in the abyss, the core creative duo of drummer/vocalist Chris Volcano and guitarist Andrew Undertaker - both longtime veterans of the deadly Australian metal scene - have reignited the hellfire, having learned their lessons well from a devilish hiatus, and thus deliver a demonic slab of black/death metal carnage. Aptly titled "Evil Proclaimed," the album is Abominator's fifth album and the first album for Hells Headbangers.
On the album the Aussie barbarians range their entire discography, the filth 'n' fury of their earliest days well accounted for while showing a nuanced sense of dynamics not heard on previous albums. The attack's not unlike a heat-seeking missile: stealthy, insistent, focused, fast...and death imminent. With a history that stretches back more than 20 years, Abominator displays no signs of softening or compromise; if anything, the band is more committed than ever to harnessing the powers of chaos and unleashing them back as a maelstrom of blackened netal of death.
Rounded off by the band's best, burliest production ever, "Evil Proclaimed" is "a victorious return that everyone's been waiting for."
The track list is as follows:
1. Black Mass Warfare
2. The Brimstone Nucleus
3. Evil Proclaimed
4. Ashes Of A Demonic Legacy

Haut&Court Posts New Track "Hienes"
Strasbourg, France death-grind quartet Haut&Court will be releasing it's new album "Troffea" on February 2. The album is titled after "Troffea" a woman whose claim to fame was documented by the BBC in 2008 as follows: "Sometime in mid-July 1518, in the city of Strasbourg, a woman stepped into the street and started to dance. She was still dancing several days later. Within a week about 100 people had been consumed by the same irresistible urge to dance. The authorities were convinced that the afflicted would only recover if they danced day and night. So guildhalls were set aside for them to dance in, musicians were hired to play pipes and drums to keep them moving, and professional dancers were paid to keep them on their feet. Within days those with weak hearts started to die."
In anticipation of the new release Haut&Court is offering you a first track titled "Hienes" below.
