Ufomammut Announces New Album
"Ecate" is the title worthy of deities and of Ufomammut's seventh studio full-length, which has been confirmed for North American release March 31st via Neurot Recordings. The label comments:
"The Italian power trio, known for incredibly heavy capabilities and psychedelic prowess, has as many discernible similarities as they do differences to their formative roots. Defying classification of simply a 'doom act,' Ufomammut charges their sludgy output with inimitable energy and wayfaring ambition through a tight knit musical understanding which flows telepathically between members, Poia, Urlo, and Vita.
"On their latest album, Ufomammut takes a confident step forward with their craft, orchestrating atmospheric processions that take the six songs on the album to places as-of-yet uncharted, the only guide being that of Ecate (Hecate in English), the three-sided goddess who moves between the realms of the living, the dead, and the gods. Traditionally associated with matters of the liminal, as statues of her can be found at crossroads and city walls, where she would be believed to either bless or curse travelers, she represents the link between the past, the present and the future in a way which resonates true with Ufomammut and with the name of the band, too."
The track listing is:

2. Plouton
3. Chaosecret
4. Temple

Visigoth Streaming Album's Title Track

Visigoth plays heavy metal that hearkens back to the golden age of ironclad riffwork and powerful vocals, paying tribute to the titans of steel that left their mark on the history of the genre.
The band's brand of heavy metal fit perfectly within the ranks of Metal Blade Records, which brought the band on board to release a debut full-length album. After signing with the label, Visigoth recorded "The Revenant King" and the collection of heavy metal tracks was engineered, mixed, and produced by Andy Patterson at Boar's Next Studio in Salt Lake City. Dissident Clone Releasing "State Of Dysphoria"
Tridroid Records is pleased to announce that on March 17th the label will be releasing Dissident Clone's "State of Dysphoria" as a digital only release.
Containing 4 tracks that combine thrash, punk and metal, Dissident Clone will appeal to old-school metalheads in particular. Tridoid Records also comments:
"To defy your maker and know your past is the concept behind Dissident Clone. Forged in 2008 from a mutually recognized appreciation of extreme metal and punk music, the band has always been Patrick Morris on guitar and vocals and Chad Brunsell on drums.
"The raw vision of Dissident Clone is to push away conceived limitations that more is always better. In a time of overproduced and sterilized music, the raw, stripped down sound of Dissident Clone may remind listeners that bands do not have to rely on technology to write their songs, play their instruments, or both.
"Constantly honing their craft and using music as a vehicle for dissent, Dissident Clone continues to write, record, and play live, hoping to give back to the metal and punk scenes that have inspired them." More...

Helrunar Announces "Niederkunfft"
Lupus Lounge (a division of Prophecy Productions) announces today that March 3rd will be the North American release date for Helrunar's "Niederkunfft."
With five studio albums to date, Helrunar has established itself as a figurehead of serious black metal from Germany inspired by Northern mythology. "Niederkunfft" now marks the beginning of a new era for the band, both musically and conceptually.
On "Niederkunfft," Skald Draugir attends to a historical topic for the first time - namely European people on the threshold between the Middle Ages and modern times, surrounded by superstition and fear, torn between religion and the enlightenment. The music follows this conceptual realignment: it is less furious than on the band's early works, yet more oppressive and bleak than ever. The album's track listing is as follows:

Shining Announces North American Appearance
Controversial Swedish metal band Shining has announced a rare North American festival appearance at Montreal's Messe Des Morts Festival.
Messe Des Morts runs from April 2nd - 4th and sees the band playing alongside other underground stalwarts Samael, Cult Of Cure, and Mitochondrion.
Shining (Niklas Kvarforth [Vocals, Concept, Guitars], Rainer Tuomikanto [Drums], Christian Larsson [Bass], Euge Valovirta [Guitar], Peter Huss [Guitar]) has also released photos taken during a recent video shoot for a track from the band's upcoming new record, which is set to be released by Season of Mist in the spring. The photos, by Assi Viljanen, can be seen at Shining's official Facebook page.
Founded in 1996, Shining has since earned notoriety within the black metal underground as a result of the band's innovative and ever-evolving sound, in addition to main-man Niklas Kvarforth's frightening and abrasive stage persona. Characterized by Kvarforth's philosophy on suicide, Shining was originally conceived as a "suicidal black metal" band, inciting violence within a rabid fan-base through the band's provocative lyrics and self-destructive imagery.
Refusing to be bound by the confines of the genre, Shining later expanded its unique approach to songwriting and themes, incorporating melodic death metal passages and dynamic vocals ranges. More...
Acherontas Reveals New Album Release
W.T.C. Productions has now set February 27th as the international release date for Acherontas' fifth album, "Ma IoN (Formulas of Reptilian Unification)."
Since their metamorphosis into a new entity in 2007, these Greeks have staunchly upheld the magick 'n' mysticism of classic, second-wave black metal. The new album's track listing is as follows:
1. Fires Of Prometheus

3. Convolut-ion, Manifestat-ion, Secret-ion, Karma-lravatl The Thunders Emerged

Dream Theater World Tour Scheduled For Early 2016
Vocalist James LaBrie of progressive metal veterans Dream Theater will be interviewed at the Midland Cultural Centre in Midland, Ontario, Canada on January 14, as part of the ongoing "A Day In The Life" conversation series.
Asked about Dream Theater's plans for the rest of 2015, LaBrie states in a pre-show interview: "Dream Theater will go back into the studio in New York in February and start writing and recording. Usually, that's about a five-month period of doing that. Monday to Friday; we take our weekends off. And then, hopefully, there will be a late fall release. And we don't wanna start touring until 2016 to support that. So we'll engage and start on another world tour probably right around this time next year."
