Unrest Releasing "Grindcore" Album
Long in the making, Unrest's "Grindcore" had become almost an urban legend in the Philadelphia metal underground. The guys finally finished it up in 2014, and now it's ready to see the light of day on March 24th, 2015 via Unspeakable Axe Records. The label also had this to say:
"If the band name doesn't spell it out for you, the album title surely will. This is nothing but grindcore - stripped down, unpretentious, and loud. At the same time, it's much more than that. Unrest is comprised of craftsmen from bands both familiar (Woe, TrenchRot) and about to be (Dark Descent's up-and-coming doom act, Crypt Sermon). And the riff and song construction throughout their debut album is right in line from what you'd expect from a group of such capable veterans. They wear their Nasum (and by proxy, Napalm Death) influence on their sleeves, but through sheer mastery of the craft elevate the material well beyond a mere tribute to old masters."

Voice Of The Soul Posts "Pendulum" Play Through

Today the band has released a play through video for the same song - check it out below. Vocalist and guitarist Kareem Chehayeb comments:
"This is song was inspired by the mass suicide of Jonestown that took place in 1978, but the lyrical content applies to so many political groups and cults whose leaders exploit the poor and disenfranchised for their own gain.”
The album's artwork was designed by Syrian Dubai-based artist Hamood Hallak of MHD Graphics, and was inspired by the concept of "Pendulum." Kareem elaborates: "While it appears evident that there is a priest/figure leading sheep, the cliff that they are about to walk off is within the temple itself. We don’t specify whether it’s religious or not, because religion isn’t the sole focus. It’s political, it’s social."

Jaded Star Signs With Sensory Records
Greek outfit Jaded Star has signed with Sensory Records for the upcoming Spring release of a debut album. The label comments:
"After touring the world and captivating audiences along the way with their previous bands, Jaded Star was founded by Maxi Nil (ex-Visions of Atlantis) and Raphael Saini (ex-Iced Earth). Joining forces with Kosta Vreto (Horizon's End, Wardrum) and Babis Nikou (Astral DNA, Opened Paradise, Dia Mageias), the band came into existence in 2013, instantly creating an arsenal of new tunes and beginning to tour that year.
"Exploding with energy, Jaded Star's debut album, Memories From The Future, is now being readied for worldwide release, after U.S. label Sensory Records brought the band into their family. Produced by Maxi Nil, mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom at the legendary Fredman Studios in Sweden, the album showcases Maxi's electrifying vocals and the masterful drum work Saini is known for.
"Guitar hero Kosta Vreto with his unique finger strumming style eschews the plectrum in favor of a raw, organic sound that literally comes straight through his hands. Babis Nikou on the bass brings a solid foundation and the chemistry between he and Maxi as the song writing team provides emotion to match the power of the sound." More...
