Blastfest 2016 Finalizes Lineup

It's been months in the making, but the schedule for Blastfest 2016 is complete. Now in its third year, the Bergen festival has not only put together yet another incredible lineup, but also one in which will be a one-time-only celebration of the Norwegian scene.

A 100% Norwegian lineup, which includes the likes of Abbath, Arcturus, Taake, 1349, Gorgoroth and even some rare appearances from the likes of Green Carnation. Blastfest 2016 will be a truly memorable occasion, with chief and owner Yngve Christiansen comments:

"2016 will be a very special festival edition with a lineup consisting solely of Norwegian bands. The bands represented at Blastfest are the legends, those from the beginning, the ones who made it evolve... the ones who disappeared... the ones who never stopped... the ones whom you should have heard more about... and the ones you will hear about. We have done our best to make a strong lineup representing Norway in the best possible way." More...

Viper Solfa Signs With Massacre

Massacre Records today announce the signing of Norway's extreme metal outfit Viper Solfa. Vocalist Ronny Thorsen comments about the signing:

"After spending over a year crafting this beast of an album, Viper Solfa is very pleased to announce our signing to Germany’s Massacre Records! Having worked intensely in both Sound Suite Studios in France and Strand Studio in Oslo, Norway, to obtain the results needed to present the material, it feels very comfortable to hand over the finished product to one of the longest-running metal labels around. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with the enthusiastic people at Massacre!"

Massacre Records adds: "Viper Solfa is still a young band, formed in 2013, but consists of experienced musicians. The band emerged as an idea of ex-Trail Of Tears front man and Viper Solfa vocalist Ronny Thorsen, who was quickly joined by fellow TOT band members Endre Moe (bass) as well as Bjørn Dugstad Rønnow (drums) and guitarist/keyboardist Morfeus (Mayhem, Limbonic Art).

"With the material at hand, it soon became obvious that the band's sound needed a diverse and intense female voice. After numerous auditions with vocalists from all around the globe, Miriam 'Sphinx' Renvåg (Ram-Zet) completed the band's line-up.

"The vast musical backgrounds of everyone involved results in a merciless musical extreme metal beast, which the band fittingly labels as 'Poison Music.'"

Viper Solfa's debut album is entitled "Carving An Icon" and is expected to be released in the first half of 2015 via Massacre Records. More...
