Randy Blythe Comments On Writing New Material
Lamb Of God's Randy Blythe has conducted a lengthy interview with Noisey regarding his photography, along with a bit about upcoming music and live performances from the band.
Regarding what's in store for Lamb Of God in the future, Blythe comments:
Lamb of God is playing a bunch of big gigs this year, and sooner or later we’ll write an album. What the guys have been writing sounds pretty monstrous thus far.
In the immediate we’re going to Soundwave in Australia in February, which will be warm and awesome. It’ll be our third Soundwave. Going to Indonesia after that for a few days, hopefully I’ll get some time to surf. We’ll be doing some bigger gigs in the summer too. We had to take some time off because the tour cycle took about three years, like writing recording touring, and then I got arrested.
The whole legal thing took over a year of my life, during which we toured in the states and afterwards we finished up the touring cycle. It was a rough, rough year so thank god it’s behind me. So we got done touring South Africa in January and I started working on my book, which should come out sometime in 2015, it’s being edited now. It’s a book called “Dark Days,” which is basically about what happened over in the Czech Republic. My editor sent me back the manuscript, so I have to approve edit that by January. So that should be out sometime in the summer maybe, not sure how long it’s gonna take.

Pit Stories: The Drunk Roadie
There's a million and one stories from the mosh pit, and we're on a quest to find them all! This week Chris Milos from Mass Punishment shares a pit story about the band's roadie having a bit too much fun:
When we played The Skate & Surf Festival in New Jersey, our drunk-ass roadie was on stage with us during our set acting ridiculous. He was falling down and crawling all over the stage. He then decided it would be a great idea to stage dive not once, not twice, but 4 times! We thought that it was awesome when he was jumping over the security and barricade at that time, however the crew running the festival didn’t think it was as funny as we did, and wanted to have him escorted out of the venue which would've screwed us over when it was time to break down and pack up our gear.
After the set was over, our wasted roadie, so drained from his drunken antics, was nowhere to be found. So we broke down our own gear anyway. We had to haul it down the street ourselves to our van because he was nowhere to be found. When we got to the van and opened the side door, low and behold there's our roadie passed out on the floor of the van. Well I guess it's a good thing we don't pay him!
Mass Punishment released the "Proving Grounds, Vol.1" album earlier this year, and you can check out a track off the release below. For more info on Mass Punishment, head over to the band's Facebook profile here. More...

Soul Rape Releasing "Endless Reign"
Soul Rape will release the "Endless Reign" album via Punishment 18 Records on January 18th, 2015. The label comments:
"Soul Rape began the band's career in 2007 when Larry (guitars), and Maurizio (drums) started the band.
"After the line-up had been completed in 2007 (Guglio on bass, Moloch on vocals) the band started with their first demo ‘Primodial Paradox’ that got recorded in April 2008 at Diana Studio run by Davide ‘Axhell’ Colombo. After their first gigs Tambo joined the band in January 2009 as a second guitarist. Tambo also became the singer after Moloch left the band. 2010 saw another line-up change with Maurizio leaving the band, and Peter Bat taking his place behind the drums. As it turned out, both line-up changes added quite some force and power to the band!
"After all those changes the band entered the studio (Dedolor Recording Studio, Turate) in July 2010 to record their 2nd demo ‘Gargoyles.’ The demo was well received, but also showed that there was still potential for improvement. 2011 saw another line-up change with Guglio leaving the band to give him more time to improve his skills with the Cello. The place behind the bass did not stay vacant for long though with Dema taking over as the new bassist. Then, in September 2012, after several live gigs the band began to record the drum parts for their first album (RecLab Studio, Milan; Sound Engineer: Larsen Premoli).
"When the rest of the band entered the Alpha Omega studios something surprising happened: Guglio rejoined the band! ‘Endless Reign’ (Studio: Omega Studio; producer: Alex Azzali) features 8 tracks and can be considered a treat for every Old School Metal fan who likes the idea of a heavy, progressive, black, and thrash elements coming together in one single album. Two further treats are Dan Seagraveís (Morbid Angel, Hypocrisy, Malevolent Creation, and many more) and an outstanding guitar solo of a very special guest, namely Jeff Loomis (ex Nevermore) himself!" Avulsed Cancels Breakup
After posting a message online the other day announcing the group had disbanded, Avulsed has now issued the following statement that the whole thing was a bad joke (despite the fact that later that same day the band posted a follow-up on Facebook stating it wasn't a Spanish fool's day joke):
"Avulsed did never split up!! This was a Spanish fool’s day joke!!
"In Spain, as well as in all Latin America (this is from Mexico to Chile), April’s Fools Day is celebrated on 28th of December. This is a tradition that comes back from more than 2.000 years already. For us this is normal, but not in the rest of the countries, so the joke worked out great, haha!! But now many people are still thinking we did split up, which also shows that bad news runs faster than the good ones, haha!!
"So for all you Avulsed fans, don’t worry, there’s Avulsed for many years (we hope!) and we’ll keep our true, honest and incorruptible attitude since day one back in summer 1991. Nothing has changed here!! We’re sorry for these that really wished our split-up was for real, haha, but you’ll have Avulsed for a long time and you’ll suffer more doses of our untrendy genuine Death Metal on your ears and eyes, you want it or not, haha!!
"For the rest, our truly dedicated fans around the world, thank you all for your signs of love and esteem for Avulsed and sorry if we made you feel sad for some hours, but well, a joke is a joke and as we say… sense of humor is the last thing we should loose in life, so we hope you’ll take it like this. Happy people lives longer than bitter ones. Death metal forever!"

Prepare To Be Assaulted By Goat Semen!
At long last, its the moment you've all been clamoring for! The most highly anticipated debut album of all time arrives: Goat Semen's "Ego Svm Satana" is set for North American and South American release on February 24th via Hells Headbangers (Kvlt will handle the release for Europe and the UK). The following press release was also issued:
"At ground zero of the rebirth and resurgence of South American black/death at the dawn of the new millennium, these Peruvian devils delivered one of the most classic demos ever with their self-titled 2002 demo, which has seen countless re-editions in the past decade as well as the band's legendry grow to enviable levels.
"But alas, a debut album has eluded the band, and the fervor 'n' anticipation for one have reached critical mass in the metal underground. Taking on almost mythical status (not unlike Sadistic Intent's long-promised debut LP), Goat Semen's Ego Svm Satana has been in the making for literally a decade. Granted, the band's been keeping busy in the underground since the 2002 demo, releasing a handful of splits with the likes of Nazxul, Krieg, Levifer, and Japan's Sabbat, among others, as well as two highly coveted live albums - but each step of the way, it's only been a few songs teasingly released a time.
"But now, Ego Svm Satana explodes into being, fully formed as the ultimate Goat Semen statement. Like a veritable travelogue across the history of South American metal barbarity the past three decades, Ego Svm Satana surges and gnashes with all the hellfire and hatred the continent's black/death is world renowned for, and yet the quartet imbibe all these traditions and spit them out nastier than ever. Song dynamics and even lengths range a surprising amount of ground for metal so hideous and maniacal; likewise, the production finds the right balance between raw and well-rounded. Through it all, however, the feeling of imminent implosion lurks around every dark 'n' diseased corner, chaos nearly taking hold and never losing its grip, whipping the listener into either a full-on frenzy or a state of perpetual tension. Goat Semen laugh all the while, the masters taunting their servants, and Ego Svm Satana summarily the execution the latter's begging for. If you were ever seeking the perfect combination of INRI, Black Force Domain, Aquelarre, Sexual Carnage, and Wicca...look no further."
The track listing is:
1. Letanias de Satan - Intro
2. Holocausto
3. Genocidio
4. Warfare Noise
5. Revelaciones
6. Altares De Pandemonium
7. Madre Muerte
8. Hambre
9. Ego Svm Satana More...
