"The band members are well-known and are active in some of the leading death metal bands today, but they all have a much broader view of music than just blastbeats and growls. From the beginning, Alkaloid tends to show multifaceted approach to the music, oscillating between stylistically diverse segments."

Dethlehem Streaming "Earthforger"

The almighty Dethlehem has unleashed a brand new song titled “Earthforger,” which can be heard below thanks to Revolver Magazine.

Constantly on a quest to achieve maximum XP while delivering a signature brand of melodic death metal, the pulverizing track is a taste of the heavy metal warrior’s new album, "Destroyers Of The Realm" (out on January 6th, 2015).

The five warriors of Dethlehem first joined forces years ago when the band's home realm of Ghorusalem (better known to human civilization as Pittsburgh, PA) fell to an ancient evil. Fueled by melodic metal, maidens in distress with supple bosoms, epic shredding, and loads of delicious ale, this group of heroic barbarians rose to the challenge to fight the malevolent under the cursed sky.

Successful battles against the wicked have led to sharing stages with the likes of GWAR and Gojira, performances at events likes Orlando’s Nerdapalooza 2013 and the Pittsburgh Zombie Fest, and even being declared the Best Metal Band by alt weekly Pittsburgh City Paper. More...

Edge Of Haze Releases New Video

Finnish atmospheric metal band Edge Of Haze has partnered with Substream Magazine to premiere new video "Into the Red Sun." Check it out below.

"Into the Red Sun" is a song from the band's most recent album "Illumine," a concept album that is based upon the book Escape from Camp 14. Drummer Janne Mieskonen had the following to say about the video:

"We wanted the video to give the listener an access into the concept and scenery of the album. The choice for the lyric video was easy since 'Into The Red Sun' is pretty much the turning point in the story as being the transition from the gray and dark city to the wild, the new beginning. We rather wanted to execute it visually like this with an expert to serve the mood of the song as well as possible. We think Sequoya (Finn, video producer) did an excellent job in bringing the song into life in terms of motion graphics!"

You can also see the band's previously released video clip for "Crushed" over at this location. More...

"Dear Delainers, we're sorry to let you know that Otto got injured during the show in Birmingham last night and has spent the night at the hospital as a result. Otto Schimmelpenninck had this to say about the experience:

"After what can be described as one of the most unpleasant adventures I've ever had to endure, we're back home again from the UK. As a lot of people are asking about my injuries and lots of friends know what happened already, I figured it would be best to share with you all. before all kinds of versions of this story start to circulate. Spoiler alert: you might want to read this another time if you were planning on having sex within the hour or so.

"As some of you know, we use 'streamer canons,' which shoot silver streamers into the audience, usually during The Gathering. We've been using this for ages without any problems at all, but in Birmingham things went wrong. More...

Into Infernus Wants You To Be In New Music Video

Into Infernus, which released new album "The End Of Eden" last month, is seeking footage from fans to include in an upcoming music video. The band comments:

"The idea is that you record yourself wearing corpse paint doing something you consider to be fun. Burn a small model church, do some gardening, cook an egg, hit the bong, chug a beer, whatever you want, the most creative efforts will get the most time on the video.

"We really want to make this video happen and to get everyone together to make it. The idea we have is pretty ambitious seeing as we do not have a huge following but if you all help us out and contribute we can make something lasting and fun for all of us to look back on.

"We are going to run this idea until we have enough footage to work with, the sooner you get your videos in, the sooner we can get to work on what might be the most KVLT video ever made.
Send all entries to HollowedRecords@gmail.com

"You can send the videos by any file hosting site, but our preferred are Mediafire or Wetransfer
Please like this post, as it will boost our reach and enable us to reach more fans who might want to participate." More...

Today Is The Day In Van Collision

Today Is The Day was in a tour van accident this weekend, and has now cancelled upcoming tour dates. The band comments:

"At 9:30 PM last night while driving to New York to meet up with our drummer, our van was struck by an out of control car that had collided with another car.

"My dear friend and TITD merch man Trevor and I had just left my home in Orland, Maine after a 4 day Thanksgiving break in between tours. We had just completed 50 + Shows since October 7th, both Headlining and Main Support for EyeHateGod. Our band was set to play 23 more shows starting tonight in Pittsburgh. We had been driving for 4 hours and had just crossed into Massachusetts.

"Suddenly, Trevor said 'Look Out!' I looked towards the passenger window and saw a car heading in a straight line for the side of our 15 passenger van. The car was within 3 feet when he saw it and it nailed us perfectly in the side spinning us around 180 Degrees, followed by flipping the van UPSIDE DOWN. Trevor and I were thrown super hard inside the van with glass bursting all around us, hot transmission fluid pouring down and sparks flying everywhere as the Van was sliding backwards and upside down the Middle of I-495 interstate. I truly felt at that moment that I was going to die.

"When we came to a stop, I held on tight and waited thinking the next thing that would happen would be a car finishing us off and slamming right into us. I screamed to Trevor to get out of the van immediately for fear that it would catch on fire and explode. We crawled through the driver and passenger windows worried that oncoming traffic would hit us. Once out, we made our way to the guard rail. Disoriented and in shock I was emotionless.

"In one terrible second:

#1 New van was completely Destroyed.
#2 Equipment was Destroyed.
#3 Merch was destroyed
#4 Tour cancelled.

"EMT's arrived and fire dept. They took me and Trevor by ambulance to the hospital. Cat scans, X-rays and morphine was given. My left arm was cut up by broken glass and the left side of my body was badly beaten and bashed on. We stayed in the hospital for 8 Hours and were finally released early this morning. When we got out the room we had reserved was gone and we spent another hour trying to find shelter and a place to regroup.

"It goes without saying that it was truly a miracle that he and I were not killed yesterday. Fuck Black Friday and all that it stands for. People had been driving wildly going from store to store to save $10 bucks in the name of xmas. The capper was that the 2 cars that had collided were full of liars that would not admit they were the ones who hit us even though the police can paint match who did.

"I am beaten and bruised and recovering. With the help of my friend Aarne Victorine that plays in UXO with me and his friend, we were able to pry open the back door with a winch to be able to get our broken stuff out of the van a few hours ago and rent a U-Haul to be able to get what's left home. Classic Rage Lineup Reforms As "Refuge"

Peavy Wagner, Manni Schmidt and Christos Efthimiadis formed the backbone of the "classic Rage" era from 1988-1993, releasing such albums as "Perfect Man," "Secrets in a Weird World," "Reflections of a Shadow," "Trapped" and "The Missing Link."

After Christos and Manni left to pursue other ventures in 1994, the three had only sporadic contact over the next 20 years, until this year when they played a secret gig in late summer to 1,200 people under the name Tres Hombres in Herne, Germany.

At the show, the band played all the hits, enjoyed every second on the stage and was hungry for more - so the idea of "Refuge" was born. The three friends decided to spend more time together and to put on shows, which would enable many people to go "back to the future."

The band announced it is working on future shows during the 2015 European Summer Festival season, the first of which is the BÄÄÄM Festival, which will be held from July 21st-August 1st in Kierspe, Germany.

More shows are expected to be announced soon. More...
