Anthrax To Join American Carnage Tour?

During a recent interview with Megadeth's frontman Dave Mustaine with 24ur.com, Mustaine revealed that Anthrax will be part of some shows on the American Carnage Tour alongside Slayer and Megadeth. The start of the tour will take place in Canada on July 23rd, and end in the United States on September 4th. However, Anthrax will most likely make an appearance in the second leg of the tour. Here is an excerpt of Dave Mustaine taken from the interview from 24ur.com:

"I think it would have been cool if I would have gotten a chance to spend a little more time with Kirk [Hammett, METALLICA guitarist]. But we never really were close. I didn't really see him very much. But as far as everything else is concerned, it was great. We hang out with SLAYER all the time, and we're on tour with them in the States on 'American Carnage'. And ANTHRAX is gonna be joining us, so it's gonna kind of be like the 'Clash Of The Titans' thing we did back in the '90s, too."

It should be noted that Anthrax is not officially on the tour schedule, which means nothing official has been confirmed as of today.

Dysfigure Parts Ways with Drummer

West Virginia metal band Dysfigure has issued the following update regarding the departure of their drummer:

"Our next and final show for 2010 will be Saturday, July 24th, at the new Twisted, Inc; formerly Almost Home, in Martinsburg, WV. Our most recent drummer, Kris Jenkins, decided to leave the band for personal reasons. We wish him nothing but the best in his future. With that said, we are in need of a new drummer. We have Beau Stokes of March Til Morning filling in for this last show. We really appreciate and respect him for this. If you are a drummer and are interested in joining Dysfigure, please contact us here or call Scott at 304-707-2112, or Mark at 304-283-7412. You must be 21 years or older. You must have your own gear, transportation(which means hauling your drums is your responsibility), have an good attitude, be open minded, and just wanna play heavy metal/hardcore music. We practice 1 or 2 times a week and play 1 or 2 shows a month, which will be booked in advance so we all can adjust schedules to play. To name a few of our influences, Down, Clutch, Hatebreed, Mastodon, Slayer, Six Feet Under, Pantera, but we are not limited to their styles. So, do you wanna be our new drummer? If you know someone who would be, pass the information on. Once again, our last show for this year, is Saturday, July 24th, at Twisted, Inc; formerly Almost Home, with As All Things End, One Slack Mind, and March Til Morning. Hope to see you all there."

Dimmu Borgir Announces Artist For New Album

Dimmu Borgir has enlisted German artist Joachim Luetke to create the cover artwork for the band's upcoming album. When asked what he feels his approach does for Dimmu Borgir, Luetke responds: "My artwork visualizes their music, adds another (optical) dimension to it. I don’t know exactly how this works. Cannot tell what kind of interior mechanism gets triggered by their music, but it’s clearly an utmost powerful one. Analyzing this means destroying it. As for our repeated collaborations, well, that’s probably because we share the similar philosophy at eye level."

Luetke’s artwork and layout art also graces two other Dimmu Borgor albums: 2003’s "Death Cult Armageddon" and 2007’s "In Sorte Diaboli." In early June, the band announced their collaboration with Norwegian composer and Berklee College of Music summa cum laude alumnus Gaute Storaas in addition to the 51 members of KORK (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and the 38-member Schola Cantorum Choir for their new release. To date, over 101 musicians have contributed to the making of the new album. Dimmu Borgir's ninth studio album will be released in Germany on September 24th, in the rest of Europe on September 27th, and in North America on October 12th.

The band has now revealed a portion of the cover artwork online, which can be viewed at this location.
