Revolution Renaissance To Break Up
Timo Tolkki, formerly of power metallers Stratovarius, has announced his decision to split apart his current project Revolution Renaissance due to various reasons. Tolkki commented by saying:
"Due to my private problems, the lack of interest in Revolution Renaissance, shows by the promoters, and the current situation in the music industry that affects to everything including the production budgets, it has become impossible to continue the band. We have tried to book shows in these last three years, but we haven't been able to do so. A rock band cannot exist without direct contact to its fans. Therefore I have no other choice but to make the decision to stop the band and its activities due to the above-mentioned reasons. The third and final album of the band will be released at the end of September. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank all the fans of my music throughout the years. It's been a great journey."
A third Revolution Renaissance album, titled "Trinity," is still planned for release later in the year through Napalm Records.

Since April we have found replacements for the band and a lot of you who just came out to our recent tour saw them in action. No, the band is not breaking up. No, we are [not] looking for anyone to fill in. No, this will not affect the band in anyway whether it is touring or writing etc.For those of you who are worried about the future of this band, just know that nothing is literally changing other than some rad new members who are going to add onto what nick and I create!I know member changes is a complete bummer to a lot of you but realistically this had to happen to allow the band to grow and continue to be a band. There are no hard feelings with the other guys and they did what they had to do."

The Autumn Offering Releases Music Video Teaser
The Autumn Offering has announced their new self-titled album will be released on August 31st through Victory Records.
Matt McChesney comments on the new album, “I always thought we were unfairly lumped in with the ‘metalcore’ bands. I always thought we did much more musically and were a bit more sophisticated then your typical good cop/bad cop band. It takes balls to admit this, but yeah, we wrote a few songs that were mistakes. We made a push, half-heartedly, for the mainstream. Yet I feel like a few bad choices don't taint two albums that I love dearly. There were a million reasons to make a record like this. Also, sensing the death of that genre of metal it made no sense to make a record that resembled it. I think we came out of it all, integrity intact." More...
Triptykon Announces More U.S. Dates
Triptykon, the new band from Celtic Frost frontman Thomas G. Fischer, has announced some additional dates to their upcoming trek of the United States. Joining them on the tour will be 1349 and Yakuza. Speaking on the tour, Fischer stated:
"Ever since my earliest days in Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, I have been extremely fortunate to be able to count on the support, fanaticism, and immense loyalty of the North American metal scene. The recognition my work has received there eclipses anything I have ever encountered in my own native country. Of the 125 concerts performed on the final Celtic Frost tour in 2006 and 2007, for example, a full 71 were played in North America. Some of these performances rank among the most memorable ones in my entire career."
"It is thus an immense honor for me to now bring my new group Triptykon to North America for the first time. Triptykon is further pursuing the path I once began with Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, and I am looking forward to continuing to forge this darkest of musical alliances with all of you. We shall all celebrate masses of unleashed heaviness and morbidity. Only death is real!"

Comments drummer Ed Warby: "I don't think I've ever worked this hard on anything in my entire life, but it sure has paid off! Although 'Of Frost And War' is a tough act to follow, my ringing ears tell me we've succeeded in besting it on every level: songs, playing, production… at the moment Dan Swanö is putting the final touches on a mix that could squash a tank, and then it's off to the pressing plant! All the main ingredients of our blood 'n' guts style death metal have remained intact and I honestly can't imagine anyone that liked our previous work is going to be the least bit disappointed, on the contrary!"
The as-yet-untitled album was produced by Ed Warby and the mix was in the hands of Mr Dan Swanö. Hail of Bullets recorded 11 songs plus an intro. The limited edition of the CD will be released as a Digibook including a bonus DVD.
