Guns N Roses Has Plug Pulled During Reading Set

American hard rock veterans Guns N Roses were forced to leave the stage last night at the Reading festival, after they continued to play after their curfew, even though they had negotiated an extra thirty minutes to their set. The band is still scheduled to perform at Reading's sister festival Leeds, even though frontman Axl Rose said they wouldn't on stage at Reading. A message from festival chief Melvin Benn reads:

Festival chief Melvin Benn said: "After failing to take to the stage at the scheduled 9.30pm (BST) time, the performance started at 10.30pm and the band were given permission by the festival to play 30 minutes extra to its scheduled 11.30pm finish until midnight."

He added: "Guns N' Roses wanted to 'extend' the new agreed curfew past midnight but were prevented from doing so in order to comply with the entertainment licence issued by Reading Borough Council."

Zao Checks In With Band Update

Zao has checked in with the following update about the band's current status and upcoming activity:

"If you have noticed that hideous picture of us that dominated the site for the better part of two years (and the coding that made it next to impossible to update anything) is gone. Myspace is forcing a new format on music pages, and we couldn't be happier. Simple and to the point. Now we just have to find the time to re-code some stuff. But we want it to be a place to check for news, etc. I mean, does anyone even USE myspace anymore?

"If you DON'T come to myspace anymore, you have other options, we have links at the top to follow our twitter and to our official facebook page (not the fan ones or that damned facebook wiki page that somehow managed to get 11,000 people liking it, instead of OUR page, but whatever)

"We are building a REAL website. We lost our URL in the Ferret/Warner Music fiasco. (short version of the story there is Ferret still exists, we are no longer on it. the previous owners of Ferret have a new label, we aren't on it). Building a REAL site is tricky. We want it to be the MAIN source of info, and also an archival database of what the band has been and a place you want to go. All this other social stuff should be extra, not the main thing. Hence, why we aren't too concerned about having all sorts of trinkets and bobbles on this thing anymore. More...

Gallileous Working On New Album

Poland's Gallileous has issued the following announcement about beginning work on a second album:

"Ave friends and maniacs! We have started work on new 2nd Album called 'Necrocosmos!' Work is going surprisingly smooth, as new guitarist Olo arrived with his electric baritone guitar! Yet to be decided whether we play live as 3 or 2 rhythm guitarists, but for now we combine all instruments and conquer space and time, to know the ultimate truth of mystical and metaphysical freedo(o)m of conscious during the afterlife. In some-way song from Concept Split Album: 'Unveiling the signs' starts the trip. 'Zababon' unveils Mass of the Dead, the superstition believes and practice from folklore of southern Poland."
