Ignominious Incarceration Cancels European Tour
British death metallers Ignominious Incarceration have cancelled the remainder of their European tour with And Hell Followed With. The cancellation of the tour is due to a vehicle accident that took place when the car both bands were travelling in collided with a semi truck on their way back into the U.K. Both bands have released the following statements.
Ignominious Incarceration bassist Chris Ball commented by saying:
"Hey guys, sorry the tour got cut short but due to a major incident we are unable to do any shows for a while, we are all ok and still going strong. Up until the incident we had been enjoying the tour and have made some great friends in the process. We will be back as soon as we’re all 100% fit enough to take to the stage again. In the mean time just keep your eyes and ears peeled for us hitting the studio at some point and new tour dates. Thanks."
And Hell Followed With guitarist Kyle McIlmurray commented by saying:
"Basically we were making a late night drive back to the UK when we nicked a semi truck and got sent like a pinball down the freeway. Most of us sustained minor injuries compared to the guys in [Ignominious Incarceration] Thankfully we’re all alive. We’ll take back pain over death any day. The injuries and damage were so intense that we were forced to cancel the remainder of the tour and head back home. We are so thankful to have had such a great time with the guys in the other bands and play the shows that we did. Words cannot describe how bummed we are that we didn’t get to finish it up. We’ve never backed out on a tour like this.. But unfortunately it was out of our hands. Now that we’re home with our families and safe we’re going to get ready for the road in September with Suffokate and The Red Shore.. It will most certainly be a banger!"

Factory Of Dreams Issues Album Update
Portugal's Factory of Dreams has issued the following update about working on new material for an upcoming album:
"Working on 6 new songs for the next Factory of Dreams' album now. It's just great when I start seeing stuff building up and becoming something really melodic. Jessica has outdone herself, great work till now. One song in particular 'Whispering Eyes' is just becoming awesome. Anxious to get this one out when the time is right. Stay tuned.
"The album will have 13 new tracks, will be very powerful but will have 2 piano/synth based tracks as well, in the vein of Sonic Sensation or The Piano in the sea. The rest will kick butt. Some of the parts I wrote, are probably the heaviest I've done till now, but all within a very atmospheric vibe, so, no pure metal here but my own thing as you guys like.
"The artwork is also moving on, great imagery being setup for this album. Still need to choose a cover... I really enjoy the whole ideas behind these new images. Gonna go back mixing now, I have a handful of harmonies and vocals to mix, plus new things to record. Thanks for the support!"

Virgin Steele Working On New Album, Gives Update
New York metal veterans Virgin Steele are working on a new album and frontman David Defeis has given Metalunderground.com an exclusive first studio update and revealed the tracklisting of the new album, "The Black Light Bacchanalia." Defeis updates us:
It will be quite a long album...close to 80 minutes...The album (to be really brief), concerns the reversal of all things...Once conquered by invading cultures, older Pagan deities become the demons…of the new religion. The Black Light Bacchanalia is a reversal of the sacred sexual customs, and the final desecration of the "Goddess Principle", switching from matrilineal descent to patrilineal descent, with the rise of the idea of the Mountain-Fire God...., ultimately leading to organized religion completely overthrowing the ancient Pagan way of life, and ushering in the "dark ages"...The album also deals with ancient fears such as the fear of the sun not rising...Lyrically it is a kind of continuation of the story I told on the last album...Musically it is quite something else...
The album will be issued in a normal CD format, plus a limited edition version with bonus tracks, and also a vinyl version. We will most likely have 3 different, yet related covers for the various versions.
At the moment we have just completed all the drums and bass. Most of the keyboards have also been completed, and we are in the process of finalizing the guitar & vocal tracks. Mixing will commence once the guitars & vocals are complete.
Hail & Cheers, to you All, and thanks for listening....
The tracklisting for "The Black Light Bacchanalia" has also been revealed as follows:
By The Hammer of Zeus (And The Wrecking Ball Of Thor)
Pagan Heart
The Bread of Wickedness
In A Dream Of Fire
The Orpheus Taboo
Nepenthe
Necropolis (He Answers Them With Death)
To Crown Them With Halos Parts 1 & 2
The Torture's Of The Damned
The Black Light Bacchanalia (The Age That Is To Come)
Eternal Regret
Virgin Steele's new worldwide deal with SPV/Steamhammer includes the reissue of the band's entire back catalogue - from "Noble Savage" onward. The back catalog will be made available throughout 2011, with faithfully restored covers and booklets, bonus tracks and liner notes.

Cirrha Niva Comments On Alcatraz Fest
Cirrha Niva has checked in with the following recap of the band's performance at the Alcatraz metal festival:
"Yeah people, Alcatraz was a blast for us! We enjoyed this gig very much, as you probably can see on the pics taken by various photographers. We especially like to thank Tim Tonckroe for the special photo shoot he did with us before the gig, very cool!
"As you probably read in some reviews our new drummer Wiebe Slim had to skip this gig due to an earlier planned obligation...vacation:-) So the pic taken by Tim cannot be used to promote the band, but as cool as it is we didn’t wanna keep this hidden from all you guys & girlzz. So here it is.
"From left to right that is: Robin de Groot (live guest vocals on The Fooling), vocalist Legrand, the guitarists Carlo Heefer & Rob Willemse, temporary live drummer Eelco van der Meer (who helped us out more than once now, thanx mate!), and finally bassist Daniel Huijben. Horns up baby! More...
Hail Of Bullets Cancels Cilinderfest Appearance
Hail of Bullets has issued the following announcement about canceling the band's previously scheduled appearance at the Cilinderfest:
"Hail of Bullets have canceled their appearance at the forthcoming Cilinderfest, September 25th in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. The main reason for this cancellation is the organizer/local promoter not honoring previously made agreements; It was agreed that the band would perform between 23.00 and 0.00 hours so people would be able to catch the last trains/buses home (which leave around 0.15 hours). However this week we were told we had to go on a just after midnight which would result in a lot of people not being able to watch the headliner.
"Apart from this there were issues regarding the agreed/promised backline and more. We apologize to everyone who was looking forward to see us, but since it was a 'free entrance' festival fortunately nobody paid money to see the band."
Anton Reisenegger Comments On Inner Sanctvm
Anton Reisenegger has issued the following statement regarding joining up with Inner Sanctvm to provide vocals for the band's new album:
"A few months ago, Heber contacted me with the proposal to record vocals on the new Inner Sanctvm album. I was immediately into the idea, my only concern being having to replace their old singer Pablo, who I considered a friend back in the day. However, after learning that for various reasons it would be absolutely impossible for him to return to the band, I didn't have to think much further.
"Back in the mid-nineties, Inner Sanctvm were one of the bands with the biggest potential in the whole South American scene. They were considered the South American Celtic Frost. Their album 'Frozen Souls' – which sadly remained their only full-length record until now – was already great, but seeing them live when they supported Criminal in Santiago was a true revelation. They were a fantastic live band, and a really tough act to follow!
"Much like my old band Pentagram, their only problem was having been born on the wrong continent, as they didn't get the opportunities they deserved and finally disbanded. But, as they say, it's never too late. I'm really happy that they are back together, and being a part of this project fills me with pride and enthusiasm. More...

Vanishing Point Announces Lineup Changes
Melbourne's Vanishing Point has checked in with the following statement about parting ways with the band's guitarist, bassist, and keyboardist:
"This is kind of a hard letter to type because we like to focus on the positives and not get into negative thinking so we aren’t going to leave you guys guessing anymore with what’s happening with Vanishing Point. Straight up after much thought and telling it like it is, we wish to let you all know that Tommy, Adrian, and Jake are no longer members of Vanishing Point.
"Sometimes musical directions and visions pull people in different directions and sometimes it brings people closer together musically, with Tommy and Adrian there was a growing gap in which they wanted to explore different avenues of music yet the rest of us wanted to keep writing melodic metal music, so after a while and much time passing it was evident that things weren’t going well in regards to writing the new album and where the rest of us felt that Vanishing Point should go.
"The end result was that Tommy and Adrian chose to leave the band, on good terms, we wish to point there is no bad blood or harsh words, put simply when it doesn’t work then why continue struggling and pushing friendships into the ground. We sincerely wish the guys well in their creative pursuits, we know that whatever they come up with in the future will be great, we sincerely hope that you guys out there will support them in the future as you have for many years.
"Now, what brings us forward, we want to let you guys know that we are not disbanding or shelving VP by any means, although things have slowed up and some of the new songs had to have some small parts rearranged, we are still going strong and we have just under an albums worth of songs, many close to completion, many still with much to do and many already completed musically. "In all my life. I have yet to write a record that bares my soul as much as this record does," Leach said. "Adam and I had a real spiritual connection while making this and I know that it comes through in the performances and lyrics. This record has our blood, sweat and tears flowing through it. It is painfully honest at times. In short this record is our catharsis." More...

Pit Stories: The Night The Stage Wanted To Eat Us
We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week Special Ops drummer Clarence shares a story of show in an airplane hangar on a sketchy stage:
It happened in Beloeil in the spring time of 2009. We played at a party for a friend of a friend of a friend. The show was held in a huge hanger used for storing air planes. When we arrived, we realized that the stage was home made and poorly setup. We looked at each other and laughed without saying a word. It was bad. It was wobbling like crazy, the floor boards were made of different thicknesses and types of wood that had been sitting outside all winter. The stage was barely big enough to fit the four of us along with all the gear. Nails and screws were sticking out from everywhere.
When the time came for us to play, Clarence, in his normal excitement, ran up to the stage and jumped on. His foot went right through the floor board. Thankfully, he didn't hurt himself too badly. Just a minor scrape. Abe helped him back up and and the show began.
Knowing that the stage wasn't very solid, the Ops crew tried not to move around too much but the stage was doomed from the start. By the end of the set, the stage looked like a mine field. There were holes everywhere. So bad that someone had to patch some of the holes with smaller pieces of wood between some of the songs. It was a night they would all remember as "The night the stage wanted to eat us" Fun times were had by all that night. Clarence didn't sue because he was too wasted and didn't realize he had been injured until the following day.
Special Ops has a few local shows planned while bassist Waldo Thornhill is in rehabilitation from surgery from his second bout with cancer. Visit the band's MySpace page for more details.
