Adust Comments On First Show With New Lineup
Adust has issued the following statement about the band's first gig featuring a new lineup:
"Some good news people! The shiny 'new' incarnation of Adust had our first gig together, and despite some pre-show nerves it was a roaring success - as gigs go we couldn't have asked for anything better. The sound was ace, the other band on the bill (The awesome Cypher16 - check those guys out!) were immense, the crowd were rocking and as a band we were tighter, heavier and played with more enthusiasm than ever before.
"We want to say a massive thank-you from the bottom of our collective hearts to everyone who came and everyone who has stuck with us, we really would be nothing without you! Hope to catch up with you guys at a gig in the near future!
"So for anyone who hasn't already guessed, Dave has taken over harsh vocal duties in addition to clean vocals. Matt has gone above and beyond in joining a long and distinguished list of bass playing backing vocalists while Paul has taken over some of the lead guitar riffs. All in all it seems to work pretty well, even if we do say so ourselves! More...

Reverend Kill Finishes New Album
Reverend Kill has checked in with the following update about finishing a new album:
"So the new Reverend Kill disc is done. We have decided to hold off on the release and shop it around a bit. Our friend, Former Death manager Eric Greif is giving us a hand with that. It is much faster and heavier than the His Blood disc. It also has alot of cool guitar shit on it. I have posted a couple tracks from it on our MySpace page. Hopefully you dig it and we are able to get it to you through the stores. Then hopefully we get a chance to get outta this oil fuckhole Alberta and play some music.
"We play lots here and we love our scene but fuck man we wanna get out there and play to all of you fuckers. We wanna go to Bangladesh and India and South America and hang with all our metal brothers and sisters. We wanna make Europe our new touring grounds. We wanna make the states think we are theirs. Spend winter in Mexico. We wanna pound through the Middle east. Own Japan. Invade China. etc...
"Fuck all this politics and religion and war and greed bullshit. It's just getting in the way of us cool people having fun. Fuck them. We wanna make a crazy stage show. And hang with all the crazy fuckers everywhere and talk metal. But for now we remain trapped in cowboy country. They filmed Brokeback Mountain here, that's how gay it is. Peace to all our Metal Brothers and Sisters. Hopefully we will catch you all somewhere sometime soon."

The more you get into such a generous field, it becomes clear how little you actually know. It’s a humble experience as much as it is fascinating,” says Negru, percussionist for the Romanian black metal band Negura Bunget. More...

Darkest Hour To Enter The Studio
Darkest Hour is about to enter the studio and has announced the band is teaming up with Soilwork's Peter Wichers. "We're really excited about working with Peter on this album. It's going to be amazing collaborating with such an inventive and unique guitarist/musician to produce and document what we feel is the most emotional and melodic Darkest Hour album to date,” says drummer Ryan Parish.
"Peter is someone we've admired and very much respected as a musician and producer for quite some time. Being a pioneer of the Swedish metal sound, (which has so greatly influenced our band) we hope to refine all of those classic elements with him and incorporate new methods to improve our songwriting" says font man John Henry.
Guitarist and founding member Mike Schleibaum also commented on the new material, "We have been working on these tunes ever since we left the studio last April. The Eternal Return was written during a very dark, bleak time for the band and I think that record matches that in both tone and character. Our vision was for it to be an in your face, no frill aggressive assault. The new material shares in that aggression and pushes Darkest Hour beyond the unknown."

In Twilight's Embrace Streaming New Song
Poland's In Twilight's Embrace has checked in with the following update about streaming a new song online from the band's upcoming album:
"A couple of months have passed since we announced the recording of the new full-length and kept you waiting for a while too long now. Therefore, here it is – the first song off our second album 'Slaves to Martyrdom' – 'The Atrocity Born of Failure.' Just as we promised before, this is one of the heaviest and most unrelenting In Twilight’s Embrace tunes ever! Enjoy and remember to let us know what you think!
"The entire album is already finished. We have recorded in many different locations scattered across the whole country – the drum tracks were laid down at Jet Studio in Northern Poland, our good friend Marcin Czajka came up with a totally intense guitar sound, and Lukasz Migdalski assisted us while recording vocals. Our longtime buddy Waldemar Jedruszak spent weeks over the mixing of the songs at The Aesthetic Studio and Wieslawski Bros. at Hertz Studio ensured the best mastering possible. Looks pretty complicated, doesn’t it? Nevertheless, the final result is a solid piece of extreme music, that we all are so damn proud of!
"Lyrics-wise, 'Slaves to Martyrdom' makes several important observations and statements on the so-called historical policies embarked on by some governments in the world, casting false light on national tragedies and forcing ordinary people to fight for their pseudo-romantic, doubtful causes. There are also other issues discussed in different songs, e.g. freedom fighters, smear campaigns and compromised education. More...
