Guns N Roses Has Plug Pulled On Them During Reading Festival Set

American hard rock veterans Guns N Roses were forced to leave the stage last night at the Reading festival, after they continued to play after their curfew, even though they had negotiated an extra thirty minutes to their set. The band is still scheduled to perform at Reading's sister festival Leeds, even though frontman Axl Rose said they wouldn't on stage at Reading. A message from festival chief Melvin Benn reads:
Festival chief Melvin Benn said: "After failing to take to the stage at the scheduled 9.30pm (BST) time, the performance started at 10.30pm and the band were given permission by the festival to play 30 minutes extra to its scheduled 11.30pm finish until midnight."
He added: "Guns N' Roses wanted to 'extend' the new agreed curfew past midnight but were prevented from doing so in order to comply with the entertainment licence issued by Reading Borough Council."

Who gives a flying poop about how many bands I've fronted, or anyone else has fronted? He's the one who basically failed as a front man and became alienated by millions.. Not me :-/

Guns'N'Roses is no Nine Inch Nails(= one guy) and never was. GNR needs at least Slash and Duffy to be called GNR. But... I think Axl knows it as well... the fact is the name "Guns'N'Roses" sells better than "The Axl Rose Band".
Still totally misleading. There's no GNR anymore.

pretty sure ol billy bailey secured rights to the name BEFORE appetite was released....during the interim after live like a suicide---and i don't think ANY of the band was even aware that he'd done that until after the release of AFD

I got free tickets to the show, When the new Guns 'N Roses came to town.
Axl refused to come on stage and kept the crowd waiting.
They didn't start untill 12:30. The concert ended up finishing at 2 oclock in the morning.
Way to piss off people that still pay to see this douchebag sing with a cover band.

I have been an avid G'NR fan for over 15 years but the times have changed, people have changed,politics have changed, music has changed, and GUNS N ROSES has changed. Or should I say completely dissolved into a murky puddle of memories and nothing more? It's not G'NR, just because Axl still acts like a f***ing a$$hole and changes his clothes like an eccentric f***ing maniac, or attempts to recapture that once known energy on stage while he huffs and puffs back and forth between a crowded stage of musicians that nobody gives a f*** about, scanning one of his many teleprompters and sucking on "pure oxegen". As a fan, I feel cheated and let down, and a bit embarassed after Axl acted like he did at both shows this weekend. It might have been amusing or cool to him back in the day to show up late and piss off everyone who was loyal to him but you need a large and loyal fan base to do such things and after not releasing a good song in over fifteen years or touring or giving anyone an interview or addressing your "FANS" you would think he might act his age, or civil, or f***ing something besides a class A f*** head! Why does he think people are going to continue to stand around and wait for him? Did his horrid album sales and vast public dissapproval not clue him in that he is just about done, forgotten, unneeded? Maybe Axl Rose truely doesn't care. Maybe he really is just like that. And maybe..... he cant sell out a large enough venue to meet his staggering approval so he keeps playing festivals that draw large crowds, if not solely for his band, atleast for the overall crowd and exposure? Maybe the new GUNS a ROSES will be playing your local fair in the not so distant years because a red headed -red neck,bit the hand that feeds and it clinched up into a fist and knocked the ever living sh** out of his racist homophobic insane bloated a$$ and he eventually came to, only to discover that knowone cared anymore and he was to blame for f***ing it all up. Goodbye Mr. Rose, may you find whatever it is that you are searching for, and hopefully it will be worth you pissing in the wind and destroying the only good thing you ever had going for you. So sad, you thought that you were the big picture and didnt realize that you were just a piece of the puzzle.
