Adagio has issued the following update regarding the progress of Adagio's fifth album:
"Stéphan Forté, Kevin Codfert and Mats Levén, are at the moment working on the composition of Adagio's fifth album at Kevin's XFade studio in Nanterre (France."
"Stéphan: Hey everyone, here's some great news! I'm at the moment at Kevin's studio working on the composition of Adagio's upcoming album, and for the first time, I will not compose the whole music and lyrics alone, as Mats, Kevin and the guys will also collaborate to the writing !! It will definitely bring a fresher sound to the band, and so far, the experience is awesome. Mats arrived here on Sunday, and we've started working right away on some ideas. Lots of great melodic vocal lines, heavy riffing and intense piano parts are coming naturally, so that's a very positive start... Another big change, is since I've down tuned my Lâg 7 string to A for my solo album, I am now using that for Adagio's new stuff as well, so be prepared for some really heavy shit."

Swashbuckle Discusses The Band's Lyrics
Swashbuckle guitarist Commodore RedRum has posted a break down of the band's lyrics via the Bald Freak Blog. An excerpt from his post follows:
Top of the eve to ye all. It's RedRum here from Swashbuckle, with a lyrical treat for all you boys and girls who care about words, and the poetic combinations thereof. I've been strong armed by the good people at Bald Freak Music to contribute more to this blog in the way of a personable, heartfelt, exposé of sorts. Something "to help fans get a bit more intimate with the band", I was told. My tricorn hat is off to anybody who wants to get more "intimate" with us. In any case, I racked my brain for days trying to come up with something that wasn't available elsewhere. So here's an in-depth look into the lyrics for every song with written word on our debut record, Crewed by the Damned (released on Bald Freak). I'll follow this up in a few weeks with a post in the same fashion regarding our second record, Back to the Noose, which was so kindly perpetuated by the mighty Nuclear Blast Records. Finally, I'll conclude this little miniseries with a guided look at the songs on our upcoming third release, Crime Always Pays (also to be released on Nuclear Blast Records). So without further adieu, I give you the track by track conceptual ramblings on Crewed by the Damned:
Welcome Aboard: “Welcome Aboard” was the first set of lyrics ever written for Swashbuckle. I remember the evening vividly - Admiral Nobeard and I brainstorming song titles for the freshly birthed pirate project. Nobeard immediately pulled out the quatrain "Taking to the sails at dawn / Ravage the seven seas / Yo Ho, Yo Ho / This pirate’s life for me" and the tom foolery kick started instantly. The rest of the song is mostly my prose, and to be honest, it is so far from impressive that it hurts. I pretty much tried to throw in every pirate cliché imaginable, assuming that the band would not grow to anything more than just a basement-recorded Myspace joke. One of the most memorable lines for me on this record is the last bit of this tune: "In a world of map-drawn lines / True paradise yet defined".More...

Zemial Checks In With New Album Update
Front man Vorskaath of Zemial has checked in with the following update about the release of a new album:
"So here it is at last! I am very pleased to announce that the long-awaited NYKTA will be released via Hells Headbangers Records worldwide. As some of you have already noticed, a teaser of NYKTA is already uploaded to give you a taste of what is to come. Yet, the scope of NYKTA reaches farther, into new territory and the music itself will speak louder than anything I have to say here. Good things take time and the time for this good thing is almost here.
"Now Hells Headbangers were Zemial’s very first distribution partner in the USA when I decided to release In Monumentum via NYX and have remained one of our closest and most valued associates over the past 4 years. Having secured a major distribution deal with RED handling Canada and the USA and PHD/Code7 handling international distribution, Hells Headbangers will ensure that the music of Zemial will finally become widely available to friends and fans across the globe – an important step for us after years of very limited distribution.
"In the meantime, the recording of NYKTA continues. What I have uploaded is only a rough version of the final product. However I am very glad to see everybody’s appreciation of the new material and sound I thank all of you who wrote with positive commentary. Being the musician, sound-engineer and producer at the same time is a challenging task and your opinions and feedback give me that much needed objectivity. More...

The Rockstar Ramblings: The Rumor Mill
Bret Michaels (Poison) is currently in discussions with Executives of American Idol over potentially being a judge for next year’s season. Even for FOX this is a little obvious, why not mix it up and throw Steven Adler (Adler’s Appetite, ex-Guns N Roses) in the mix, sitting next to Ellen (every five minutes whispering in her ear “I like lesbians”). Actually, why not really go for broke and have Adler, soft-spoken Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N Roses), and Ozzy Osbourne as the judges, no one will understand a word which would be a welcomed change. Of course, we keep on Ellen because, well, we do like lesbians… More...
