We've made new friendships with some great bands as well. My personal favorite so far was Rebreather from Youngstown. Awesome guys and amazing band! We have the night off tonight (July 6th), our only day off during the 24-day tour, so we're going to find a good spot to camp somewhere then it's off to Denver to play with Black Lamb! "It is with the deepest regret that I have to inform you that we were forced to cancel our appearance on the Brutal Domination Tour, as well as the Las Vegas Deathfest and the Central Illinois Metalfest. Three of my band mates were stopped at U.S. customs, who then found out our bands name, googled it and hence found out about the tour. Since they did not have work visas and weren't able to get them by the start of the tour they could not enter the USA and we will not be able to partake on the tour.
"Believe me: we tried absolutely everything, but without success. U.S. customs are a fucking bitch and it was just beyond our power to change the outcome of this situation... I would like to apologize to all the promoters and fans who were counting on us and who were excite to see us! I can't even begin to describe how disappointed we are and how much money we wasted on this whole thing. More...
Joachim Luetke Comments On Dimmu Borgir Art
The second of four portions of the new artwork for the as-yet-untitled Dimmu Borgir album has been uploaded to the band’s MySpace page. When asked if fans should look for something hidden in the artwork that may not be obvious at first glance, German artist Joachim Luetke responds:
“It’s not like looking at a picture puzzle, but if you listen to the music while looking at the imagery, an additional dimension will unfold before your eyes, that’s for sure. Learning about the real meaning of the album title is also a useful key to it.”
In early June, Dimmu Borgir announced a collaboration with Norwegian composer Gaute Storaas in addition to the 51 members of KORK (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and the 38-member Schola Cantorum Choir for their new release. To date, over 101 musicians have contributed to the making of the new album. More...
Nuclear Blast To Release New Cradle of Filth Album
On November 9, 2010 Cradle of Filth will have their latest album issued in North America by Nuclear Blast. The band signed with Peaceville Records earlier this year and the release will be a collaborative effort.
Frederick Jude, Managing Director of Peaceville Records, comments on this upcoming cooperative effort: "Football aside, we’re pleased to be teaming up with Nuclear Blast on this very important release. Given their resources, interest in the band, and track record in the U.S., we believe CRADLE OF FILTH will be best positioned to better the sales of their last album in North America."
This month, vocalist Dani Filth, guitarists Paul Allender and James McIlroy, bassist David Pybus, drummer Martin Skaroupka and keyboard player Ashley Ellyllon enter Monkey Puzzle Studios near Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, England to begin work on the follow-up to 2008’s "Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder." CRADLE OF FILTH will compose another concept album, this time based on Adam's first wife, the lascivious demoness Lilith. "Throwing medieval nuns, Knights Templars, Greek mythology, lashings of sex, occult lore, and violent bloodshed together into a creative milieu, the band are poised to create a darkly erotic nightmare set to their unique scope of supreme vampyric metal," states the press release in regard to the new album.

Paul Gilbert To Release New Solo Album
Guitarist Paul Gilbert will unleash his 3rd instrumental album on August 3rd via Shrapnel Records. "Fuzz Universe is my third guitar instrumental album,” explains Gilbert. “Being a fan of pop music and rock bands, I am a reluctant convert into the art of instrumental rock music. But after touring with Joe Satriani’s G3, I witnessed firsthand the power of the electric guitar to take center stage and rock the audience. Playing my guitar-driven songs live was a blast! This discovery led to a huge increase in my touring as a solo artist. In the last couple of years, I've played nearly 150 shows all over the world, with my guitar leading the way.”
Explaining the title of the album, Gilbert further commented, “Every generation of guitar players has their own terminology for the rock guitar sound: Distortion, Overdrive, Gain, Crunch, Saturation, Drive etc. For me, the word is fuzz. On Fuzz Universe, I think I've taken a giant step closer to the ultimate rock guitar sound and playing of my dreams. I've used many of my signature techniques from Racer X and Mr. Big, but twisted them into new chords, grooves, and emotions. As always, my influences are diverse and not what you might expect from a 'heavy metal' artist. More...

So far the keyboards we have on some songs knocks down many bands with symphonic works that we know and we are proud to say that Arcane is now the official Keyboardist and Synth master for the Death of Desire family.
"Our music is growing and evolving into a more mature state with this alliance. The music will still be very brutal and technical, but now the element of grimness and Darkness has a major call in our tracks. Expect some demo previews soon."
