In a recent interview with MetalGeek, Crowbar leader Kirk Windstein, who is also the guitarist for Down and Kingdom Of Sorrow, talked about the forthcoming new Crowbar album and how the band is approaching it. An excerpt from the interview reads as follows:

Q: So what can you tell us about the new Crowbar record?

A: "Heavy (laughs)! What we have is really, really good, I think people will really enjoy it. When we come back to the states we will put it together. I told the guys ‘Let’s take a few more weeks even if it means that we can’t get it out this year’ – because it is too important of a record for us to rush it. It’s been this long since the last one so what the fuck... it has to be a really strong record so a couple more months is totally worth it."

It was an Ok interview and Kirk is always fun. I' ve met him outside of shows, he is always gracious and happy It sounds like DOWN is still intact and Kingdom is great live but he neglected to mention anything about the Crowbar back catalogue or the DOWN DVD

Down has taken up all the band members time and they want to work on their other bands for a while. Whenever Down had a little time off, they play in Crowbar, Eyehategod, and numerous other bands in New Orleans because they're just as important. Don't worry about Down. Just become a fan of their other stuff.

Last year Crowbar was going to re-release thier old catalogue and they supposedly recorded a live album for release through Housecore Records. I haven't heard anything from Crowbar since, until they signed with E1. So I was hoping that Phil and Kirk are still buddies. As for side projects I already am a fan of Kingdom of Sorrow, they played a one off show with 3 Inches of Blood and Toxic Holocaust here during the Gwar tour, Kirk was with Down and the other guitarist from Crowbar stepped in. So now all I need is Crowbar back catalogue to be fan of thiers
