Waking The Cadaver Calls It Quits
New Jersey slam outfit Waking The Cadaver has checked in with the following announcement about deciding to call it quits:
"It is with sad news that WTC will have to announce that we are no longer a band. Truth be told, we haven't been a band since our last show we played in Seattle October 2013 on the Dying Fetus/Exhumed tour.
"We were never sure what the status of the band was going to be all this time, that's why there hasn't been an announcement, but some of you have figured it out and it's only right to let everyone know the truth.
"There's no bad blood with members or anything, we are all just living busy lives and are unable to commit to the demands of being in this band. Who knows, maybe in a couple years we'll jam again.
"We want to thanks all our fans world wide...it's so amazing how you people have made this band able to do things other slam bands would dream of doing. We sincerely love you all from the bottom of our cold dead hearts!!! Stay brutal."
The band also comments on other projects from its members: "Mike Mayo is currently jamming in the grindcore outfit Ground and John Hartman is continuing his legacy in the legendary Mortal Decay. Support these awesome bands."
Waking The Cadaver released three full-length albums in its lifetime, capping with 2013's "Real-Life Death." More...

Murg Releasing New Album
Murg is a duo hailing from the rural mining areas of Bergslagen, Sweden. Murg's harsh sound is affected by the deep, rocky forests of the band's native homeland and the abandoned, centuries-old mines that are scattered among them. That, in combination with a misanthropic and deeply ecological ideology, makes up the foundation of Murg.
Their first release ”Varg & Björn” is a concept album that conveys the notion of humankinds' total uselessness and its cyclical attempts - and constant failure - at achieving co-existence with anything on this earth. The album is due out March 30th via Nordvis and features the following track listing:
1. Vindarna luktar rök
2. Nejderna brinner
3. Grannen är din fiende
4. Massvandring & blodbad
5. Den starkes rätt
6. Farsoternas afton
7. Varg & Björn

"There's something for everybody in this buffet of many extreme flavours, and people are chewing it up. There are old friends, very drunk friends and everybody is indeed happy. Back to Europe, we're giving you all a little time away (though we miss you dearly), but in the meantime we have a tasty little trip planned with Carcass in Australia and New Zealand, with maybe some extra Asia dates sandwiching the whole thing.
"I am looking forward to seeing Shane dressed as an Orc when he finally lives his dream of taking in the Hobbit set down New Zealand way - not to be missed at any costs. All the best for now." More...
