"Unfortunately, we have to announce that Dominic 'Forest' Lapointe is no longer part of Beyond Creation for personal reasons.
"We would like to thank him for his great work and dedication to the band for the past four years. We had a lot of fun sharing the stage with him and recording two solid records! Pit Stories: Doubling The Painter's Salary
At the beginning of each week we catch up with rock and metal bands from around the globe to get their most memorable Pit Stories from live shows.
For this week's edition, the Finnish hellions from Santa Cruz have shared the following tale of a pre-drunk crowd resulting in one banged up girlfriend and one even more banged up venue:
Few years back we had this show in our home town Helsinki at this club called Bar Bäkkäri. They had just re-painted their floors and done some other renovations as well so the night was kind of this celebration of the bar's new facelift. Anyhow the place was packed that night and we went on stage around 1:30 am meaning the crowd was shitfaced (not like they had had a few beers before the show, the consumption should have been measured in gallons).
The pit started straight away and we saw our drummer's girlfriend between those spaced out vikings like a chopstick in a wrecking ball jungle and I was already planing what am I gone wear next Sunday at the funeral service. Well the 8th miracle of the world happened and she survived whit shattered glass sticking out of her arms and without any bigger surgical operations she made it through that night. What suffered more critical damage was the re-painted floors of the venue, it was all fucked. Well at least the painters doubled their salary thanks to us.
Santa Cruz will hit the road in Europe in March, followed by a U.S. tour with Amaranthe in May. Dates are available at this location. Santa Cruz's self-titled album is also due to drop March 10th, 2015 via Spinefarm Records. More...
EyeHateGod Comments On Tour Cancellations
On the heels of the recent cancellation of an Australian tour, EyeHateGod was regrettably forced to postpone a three-day run through Mexico as well. The band comments:
"We regret to have to cancel both our Australian and Mexican dates until further notice. Vocalist Mike IX Williams' mental stability and health are major serious issues at this point, and we are very, very sorry for putting our fans and business partners in this miserable position.
"We feel horrible about these empty spaces in our schedule and will make up these tours as soon as possible. The cancellation of these tours is in no way any fault of the promoters or foreign booking agents. We hope our fans understand."
Since part of the problem included long flights, EyeHateGod recently embarked upon two separate short runs of shows on the West and East coast, fully against doctor's orders. These shows were found to be physically draining and a detriment, performance-wise, to Williams.
Williams - who is currently dealing with exhaustion and chronic fatigue from a near nonstop tour schedule over the last five years -- is resting and will be ready to conquer Europe and the U.K. on tour this April.
Child Bite Working On New Album
The Detroit-based misfits from Child Bite have been holed up in their den of iniquity penning new tunes for an as-yet-untitled new full-length, to be recorded by Philip H. Anselmo at his famed Nodferatu's Lair.
The record serves as the follow-up to last year's "Strange Waste" EP, released via Housecore Records. The band comments:
"Us 'bite boys have been holed up all winter, writing tons of stuff for the next record. We've been talking to Phil about recording with him for quite a while; we really just did Strange Waste last year as a way to keep busy while waiting for his busy schedule to clear up. We write in waves, with most songs requiring either four or five distinct passes before they are complete. Most of the songs are entering the third and fourth passes, with lyrics just getting started on. We sent Phil a bunch of really rough demos last week to share our progress and his response was; 'insanely great ideas!' Juice levels are reaching new heights in the CB camp."
In related CHILD BITE intel, the band will appear on an upcoming, limited edition Celtic Frost tribute record. Set for release via Corpse Flower Records this Spring as a supplement to the "Morbid Tales! An Illustrated Tribute To Celtic Frost" comic, Child Bite opens the collection with a rendition of "The Usurper" featuring Anselmo on lead vocals.
"If you saw us at our release show or on tour last Fall," the band notes, "you may have heard us play it with [vocalist] Shawn [Knight] doing his best Anselmo-meets-Tom G impression." The comp will also include Acid Witch, Municipal Waste, members of Neurosis and Repulsion and more. More...
Ross Sewage Re-Joining Exhumed For Tour Dates
California's gore strategists from Exhumed are currently dispersing their disease throughout North America supporting co-headliners Napalm Death and Voivod. The invasion will have slaughtered nearly three-dozen municipalities upon its conclusion, with its final assault befalling Houston on February 28th.
Beginning with tomorrow's performance in Seattle through a Los Angeles date on February 22nd, bassist/vocalist Ross Sewage (Ghoul, Impaled), who played on the original "Gore Metal" release and redid his vocals for the recently-released re-recorded version "(Gore Metal: A Necrospective 1998 - 2015"), will join Exhumed onstage for an "old school" portion of the band's set.
Comments guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey, "I'm beyond psyched that our old friend Ross Sewage will be doing us the honor of joining us on the West Coast for a some really special sets where the pure old school vibe will be 100% raging. It's been a long time since we've shared the stage properly and I've been hoping something like this would happen for years. We look forward to grinding your faces off and literally partying like it's 1999!" More...

Fit For An Autopsy Working On Album
The New Jersey metal heavyweights from Fit For An Autopsy have wrapped up production on a yet-to-be titled LP due out later this year via eOne Music / Good Fight Music.
"The new album is a bit of a step in a new direction for the band," says guitarist Pat Sheridan. "You'll hear a lot of new influences in our sound and a real creative move towards other genres we have never experimented with until now. It's dark, sad and aggressive all at once and we're really happy with the vibe. It's also a very literal and real record and in more of a first person view of the world than we've ever done, and it feels really intense."
The band set up camp at The Machine Shop in New Jersey with guitar player and renowned producer Will Putney at the helm. The new effort will be the follow-up to "Hellbound," released in 2013.
The biggest change since then has been the band's vocalist. After the departure of Nate Johnson earlier last year, Greg Wilburn (Oblige) briefly filled in so the band could carry out touring plans. Just before the band entered The Machine Shop, Joe Badolato (Diamond Cutter) was brought in as the brand new full-time vocalist.
"We found Joe at a perfect time," says guitarist Will Putney. "We had just come off months of touring with a vocalist we knew wasn't built to handle the lifestyle and stresses that come with being in a full-time band."
Badolato's first show with the band was at The Brooklyn Asylum in Brooklyn, NY before gearing up to head out west to start a tour supporting Suicide Silence alongside label-mates Within The Ruins.
Putney concludes, "Joe is an extremely humble and down to earth dude and is a killer singer. Bringing him into Fit For An Autopsy has elevated the band to a really cool creative spot, and we're excited about the future with him as our frontman."
Oppression Releasing "Scars 1988-1990"
Xtreem Music will soon release a compilation of early demos and EPs from Oppression, with the label commenting:
"Not many people actually knows about the existence of this extraordinary Finnish band called Oppression that lived between 1987-1992 and recorded 4 demos and a 7" EP, but the fact that they never reached a big audience doesn't mean they're not an outstanding band! Never is it too late to discover a great band!
"Xtreem Music is rescuing these recordings and will release them on a CD entitled 'Scars 1988-1990' containing 10 songs (clocking 65 min.) with songs taken from their demos and 7" EP. The music Oppression played was a killer thrash metal pretty much inspired by Infernal Majesty, Dark Angel, & Hobbs Angel Of Death that later developed into a more technical and progressive style, that still retaning the mentioned influences, also adopted inspiration from acts like Mekong Delta, Coroner, and Death Row.
"The release date for 'Scars 1988-1990' is set for March 20th and in the meantime, you can listen to an advance track below." More...

"I have begun sorting through ideas and direction for the next album and have started the process of writing pieces that will come together to form the basis for the album. Until then I will be doing shows in and around Florida and hopefully start working some of the new ideas out in the live set."

Native Construct Signs With Metal Blade
Native Construct is the product of collaboration between several students that began in 2011 at the storied Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Guitarist and composer Myles Yang's passion for innovation, coupled with his extensive academic study of arranging and compositional techniques, makes Native Construct a truly distinctive up-and-coming metal act.
Yang, along with bassist Max Harchik and vocalist Robert Edens, completed work on debut album "Quiet World" in between 2011 and 2013. By 2014, the band's music caught the ear of Brian Slagel at Metal Blade Records, and led to a recording contract and a worldwide release of the band's debut album - due out April 21st.
Listen to the first single, "Mute," and pre-order the album now at this location. All tracking and programming was done at the band's home studios in Boston, MA, with the exception of vocals, which were recorded with Jamie King at The Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, NC. The album was mixed by Rich Mouser at The Mouse House Studio in Los Angeles, CA, and mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist). The band comments:
"'Quiet World' is about a guy who loves a girl. The guy is a bit of an odd and eccentric person - an outcast. He's also a mute, and a little unstable, as it turns out. The girl doesn't return his feelings, but he can't bring himself to let go. As his unrequited passion for her devolves into obsession and eventual resentment, his mind begins to slip further and further away. He convinces himself that he can't be loved because of his condition and abnormalities. So he decides to create for himself a new, fantastic world of which he has complete control - a world where there are no oddballs or outcasts. A world where everyone is surrounded by people who are just like themselves: a much quieter world. More...

The mysticism of Hypothermia is characterized by its highly ritualistic compositions, which are conducted in shamanistic trances of minimalism, and binding their followers in its meditative spell. Always recorded live, sharing with the world something honest and unique. More...

Lay Down Rotten Laid To Rot
Bad news for Lay Down Rotten fans - the band is officially calling it a day, with Apostasy Records issuing the following statement:
"For nearly 16 years now, Lay Down Rotten has stood tall for energetic top-notch death metal. Their haunting live-shows at festivals like With Full Force, Rock Harz, Extremefest, Death Feast or Summer Breeze and their concerts alongside Cannibal Corpse, Bolt Thrower, Aborted a.o. always grabbed the audience by the balls."
Lay Down Rotten also had this to say: “After a very honest discussion, we all realized that the individual future plans from all band members differ too much from each other. Due to this, it doesn’t make sense to continue with the band. With a heavy heart, we decided to close the chapter LDR after nearly 16 years to move on to address ourselves to our new tasks. Needless to say, we will all stay active musicians and you’ll definitely hear from one or another again.
"We want to thank each and every one who backed us on our long road in the past. First and foremost we thank all the fans that pushed us to the maximum during our almost countless concerts.
"We are going to play all the shows that are already confirmed up until June to celebrate with you for the last time!! Thanks for your support! Lay Down Rotten laid to rot!!"

Kult Of Taurus Announces New Album
Forever Plagued Records is proud to present the second album from Kult of Taurus, titled "Adversarial Paths: The Sinister Essence." The label comments:
"Following on from 2013's critically acclaimed 'Divination Labyrinths', Kult of Taurus' latest 'Adversarial Paths' is likewise aptly titled: the Greek quintet continue to refine and reinvent their singular, Satanic path, with their journey taking them down myriad diabolical routes.
"The album zigzags across a wide swath of terrain, but always firmly within the lexicon of black metal; it's constantly churning, twisting itself into new shapes, knowing full well where it wants to go but never revealing its secrets too easily. In many ways, with a vanguard approach to black metal that never strays into trite self-consciousness or knowing irony, but rather focuses on an individualistic and idiosyncratic approach to sonic Satanism, 'Adversarial Paths: The Sinister Essence' harks back to a lost era of '90s Norwegian avant-garde BM like Fleurety, Ved Buens Ende, and Dodheimsgard, whose Vicotnik mixed and mastered this new album.
"Rounding out this total sensory experience is a molten 'n' muscular production - the band recorded the album at Behind The Sun Studios, Red House Studios, and Studio Unglamorous over the course of 2014 - and regal, portentous artwork sketched by Bile, with additional digital art design from S.I. for Incense Art."
