Guitarist / vocalist Josh DeShazo of Stealing Axion has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band:
"It is with a heavy heart that I have decided that I must step down from being a part of Stealing Axion. Life is getting busy and I must devote my attention in order to stay on track.
"I have never been a part of something so inspiring musically or emotionally and I'm really lucky to have had the best bandmates standing beside me the entire time. The musicianship that Dan and Phil surrounded me with has completely changed my life over the course of this band. I owe a lot of my progress musically and personally to the hard work that was required of me to be in a project as complex as Stealing Axion.
"I'm not giving up on music at all and please keep an eye out for my name in the future, but as for Stealing Axion and I, the time has come for me to try new things.
"Dan, Phil and I grew up together as friends, which is what made this band work so well between us. I fully expect to work on music with the guys in the future just because it is such a strong part of our friendship. I expect that everything coming out of these guys will be on par or better than anything we've done in the past because pushing ourselves as musicians is what Stealing Axion is all about.
"I'll always have that in me and I'll always have our stories. Thank you so much Dan and Phil. Thank you so much fans and friends." More...
Portland, Oregon-based doomsday cult The Body has declared an extensive itinerary of upcoming live actions in support of an end-time message, including a major Spring offensive with Full Of Hell.
In March, The Body has two California gigs confirmed, including participation with Two Piece Fest West, playing the second day of the event in Berkeley on March 7th, and a show the following night in Los Angeles.
Just a month later, a quick run of solo shows through the center of the country will transplant The Body in one of prior hometown of Providence, Rhode Island to convene with Full Of Hell on April 4th, beginning a five-week tour assault through the entire country together. The routing will take the band full circle, returning to Providence on May 17th for the final show.
An act notorious for constantly touring and recording new material, The Body recently unleashed two separate collaborative recordings with Thou; the first, "Released From Love," through Vinyl Rites in April 2014 and the second, "You, Whom I Have Always Hated," just this year via Thrill Jockey, also responsible for the band's 2014-released split with Sandworm and 2013-released "I Shall Die Here" collaboration with The Haxan Cloak. The Crypt records just inked an official licence deal with Kaotoxin for the release of Putrid Offal's "Premature Necropsy" on LP.

The LP will be released through The Crypt sometimes late 2015 / early 2016 as a 500 copy limited edition first press (among which 250 copies will come colored) with exclusive liner notes and the 2014 demo version of "Suffering" that can be found on the alike-titled collector EP as a bonus. More...
Massachusetts metal act Within The Ruins flipped its van and trailer off an interstate in Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon. While no one was hurt, the van, trailer, and gear were completely destroyed.
"We rolled about three times from what I can remember and landed on the median. Our van and trailer are totaled," says guitarist Joe Cocchi.
The band had set sail from its hometown in MA on the way to California to begin a month-long tour with Suicide Silence along side label-mates Fit For An Autopsy. Despite the near death experience and loss of gear, the band will push on and make the third show scheduled at El Corazon on Friday, February 20th in Seattle.
Cocchi continues, "All I can say is that we're happy to be alive. I don't know how, but none of us were injured. We're on the road touring because this is all we know and love, and we want to continue. Help us get back on our feet by picking up a shirt. Thank you all for the continued support.”

"'With Serpents Scourge' offers nine tracks of ugly and depraved satanic death metal, praising evil in all its merciless, rotten beauty. The album was mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony (Necrophobic, Dissection, Asphyx, Necros Christos and many more). The brilliant, detailed cover artwork was again done by Milovan Novakovic, who was already responsible for Necrowretch's previous artworks."

Chilean prog metal band Crisalida just wrapped up work on a new album with producer Daniel Cardoso (Anathema).

Hortus Animae has a new video clip out now for "Doomsday," which can be seen below thanks to BlankTV. The band also comments:
"This song, as the majority of the songs in the album, has a theme related to the apocalypse, which concept is as old as the world, nothing new. But the point is this philosophy of Creation, Preservation and Destruction which focuses more on destruction in this very album, but not only. After destruction comes a rebirth.
"For some people the apocalypse has already arrived, they’re abandoned to themselves, alone, with only ruins around - sometimes each one of us may feel that way; there are those who are afraid of this day, let’s say in the "traditional" way, there is the anger of those who feel that we are the cause of our evil, there is a rebellion against all this... Sometimes the result is giving up, sometimes a quiet awareness, maybe some light of hope.
"A short story, also funny in a way, regarding the making of the videoclip: we filmed it in different locations, at least 5, and we’ve been kicked out from almost all of them because we were breaking safety rules." More...

Today NPR.org hurls forth the asphyxiating heaviness of "Unnamed" from Seattle doom bringers Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth (listen in below). The tune makes it's chest-caving appearance on the band's self-titled debut, out today in Europe via Neurot Recordings.
Slow, heavy and wholly unapologetic, "Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth" is the sound of earthly decomposition and planetary demise from the band fronted by guitarist/vocalist Tad Doyle. Comments Doyle of this newly unleashed track:
"One of the hardest questions to honestly ask oneself is, 'Who am I?' People move through life attaching labels to themselves, and to others. It's human nature for you to call yourself a motorcycle rider if you ride motorcycles. We tend to attach the things that we do -- our jobs, our actions -- to our identity of who we think we are as individuals. By doing so, we are selling ourselves way too short by labeling our existence. The song 'Unnamed' is about letting go of false perceptions of ourselves and others in order to be truly open and free from the shackles of perception." More...

Nocternity's "Harps of the Ancient Temples" is set for international release on April 17th via Iron Bonehead Productions. The label also issued this press release:
"The Greek band's first full-length in 12 years, 'Harps of the Ancient Temples' has been an epic in the making. In the mid 2000s, Nocternity was prolific on the EP front, first releasing 'A Fallen Unicorn' in 2004 - itself a companion record to the cult classic 'Onyx,' from 2003 - and then split 7"s with various bands. Then came the 'Harps of the Ancient Temples' 7" in 2007, which was set to begin the next chapter in Nocternity's story...and then silence for another five years, until a self-titled 7" was quietly released in 2012 in an edition of just 300 copies. During that whole time, however, main visionary K.D. was hard at work crafting LP#3 and taking care through his label, Kyrck Productions, reissuing some of the lost jewels of the early '90s scene."
“This album has been in the works for a decade now," he reveals. "It was recorded twice with different members. The first, digital version was pre-produced in Switzerland, Hellas, and Sweden. The analog version was recorded at Studio 5 in Athens, and this is the version that prevailed.” More...

We are truly honored to be part of this great roster of bands!"
The record label also had this to say: "Finnish death/doom metal crypt dwellers Solothus have inked a deal with Doomentia Records to release their as yet untitled sophomore album! In celebration of this alliance, the label is re-issuing the band’s skull-turning debut 'Summoned From The Void' on vinyl with new artwork by Juanjo Castellano. Release details to be announced later.

Forged from the same wretched elements found on the debut, the new effort excavates deeper with more varied pronouncements. From the abysmally crawling doom ambiance to the bone-crushing death ,etal riffing to bewitching guitar leads and otherworldly melodies, Solothus delivers the entire spectrum of dark fantastic desolation.
