Killer Refrigerator Seeks To Free You From Slavery
Killer Refrigerator is the side project of UnKured's Cody Coon, due to release "The Fridge And The Power It Holds" on April 7th, 2015.
While UnKured is a thrash/death metal band focusing on sci- fi themes, Killer Refrigerator is an altogether different beast: a super-serious project that focuses on the current war between appliances and humanity, with a war cry against Killer Refrigerators.
Millennia ago, an omniscient refrigerator named Lord Freezus Christ appeared from the primordial void and vowed to destroy humanity. He almost succeeded, but two humans were able to survive and repopulate the earth.
Fast forward to present day. Appliances rule and control our lives. We are slaves to our iPhones, our toasters, our blenders; Easy-Bake Ovens are employed from an early age to enslave us into appliance dependency. We have become a helpless species.
In 2014, Cody Coon and Luke “Java” Sackenheim decided to rebel against the appliances. They started the band Killer Refrigerator. Since their formation, they’ve released an LP ("When Fridges Rule This World") containing songs as, “Bed, Bath & Beheaded,” “Appliance Vio-lence,” and “Microwave Massacre.” Killer Fridge not only draws from founder Cody’s belief that appliances want to destroy the world, but also from cheesy horror films such as Microwave Massacre, Terrorvision, and Basket Case. Jack Russell's Great White Posts Lyric Video
In December 2011, Jack Russell's Great White first bared its teeth. Since its inception, the front man welcomed back longtime bassist and friend Tony Montana (this time as a guitar player and keyboardist), lead guitarist Robby Lochner, bassist Chris Tristam and drummer Dicki Fliszar. Rather than look backwards and merely attempt to relive the multi-platinum hard rock entity's storied origins, Jack Russel set his sights on the future.
The new single "Hard Habit" is out now, and you can check out a lyric video for the track below. "Hard Habit" comes off the forthcoming studio album "The Gauntlet," due out later in 2015. Jack Russel comments:
"With the ever-changing climate of the music industry, we've decided that we will be releasing several digital singles throughout 2015. 'Hard Habit' is the first in a series of singles the band will put out this year. Be on the lookout for our next single in the coming months! We are really proud of this song and we plan on playing it live as well as some other new tunes and of course all the classic Jack Russell's Great White songs you know and love. See you on the road!"
You can also see the band live on these dates:

Sabertooth Zombie Reveals EP Details
San Francisco label Twelve Gauge Records presents its next offering: "Human Performance IV" by Sabertooth Zombie.
Out March 3rd, "Human Performance IV" is Sabertooth Zombie's fifteenth release since forming in Northern California a decade ago and, as the title suggests, it is the fourth (and final) EP in the band's "Human Performance" series. Twelve Gauge Records comments:
"Hailing from Santa Rosa and surrounding towns in the North Bay, Sabertooth Zombie's roots go deep in that area's hardcore punk scene.
"With Sabertooth Zombie, hardcore punk evolves into something new: a noisy, driving, hard-rockin' wall of sound, where the band members' love of classic rock, stoner jams, and outlaw country gets a chance to shine.
"In describing itself, the band drops names like Merle Haggard and Pink Floyd, alongside other influences like whiskey, beer, the great outdoors, and American literature. This is a band wherein the highbrow and lowbrow collide – atop dirt-rock barn-burning and caveman bashing, frontman Cody Sullivan spits electrifying lines of poetry, such as these from Human Performance IV's closer, 'Crazy Endings:'
We slept outside all summer long / Moon aware and vastly waxing / Eating up the southern yokes / Talking about anything attractive / That was when the mountains had more and the sea had less / Now we put deep thinkers in the deep end and program the television... / A mega ton hazing from the idiot A-bomb.
"Yet make no mistake: while Sabertooth Zombie might be all about guitar solos and Jack Kerouac, taking inspiration from anywhere but the hardcore scene, one look at its live carnival reveals the band's true colors: they still make the kids stage dive like maniacs. Witness live footage shot at Anaheim, California's fabled Chain Reaction below."
"Human Performance IV" was recorded and mixed by Sam Pura at The Panda Studios (Self Defense Family, No Sir, North) and mastered by Piper Payne (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros). The track listing is:
1. The Headache
2. Coffin Coast
3. Gardens of Loss
4. Crazy Endings
Sabertooth Zombie plays a "Human Performance IV" record release show this coming March 14th at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. More...
Lychgate Streaming New Track
The apocalyptic black metal unit Lychgate has unveiled a new track, entitled "Letter XIX," taken from the band's impending new album.
The song is track 5 from the band's second effort, "An Antidote For The Glass Pill," which will debut on deluxe vinyl, CD, and digital formats through Blood Music in early 2015. The label comments:
"An Antidote For The Glass Pill is the ceremonial, liturgical brother of Esoteric and features Greg Chandler (Esoteric's frontman and founding member) on guitar, vocals, and engineering duties. The record is also perhaps the only black metal album in history that features full accompaniment by a professional church pipe organist throughout.
"We've been tracking the progress of this album from raw demos to polished finale and can attest that this was an incredible labour-of-love and also a work of painstaking genius. This is the rare kind of album that will actually give you goosebumps." More...
Maximum Rock Festival Returning In October
Romania's Maximum Rock Festival will return in 2015 with a new edition featuring headliners Epica and Annihilator. The festival takes place from October 15th - 18th, and the organizers also had this to say:
"Apart from these two significant names, the event will also feature performances by other international and local acts, just as enticing as the headliners. Many new bands will be confirmed shortly.
"The success of the two previous indoor editions has led to the creation of a tradition, which, through perseverance and professionalism, transformed the show into a crucial one for the Romanian, and international, entertainment market.
"More and more people from Bulgaria, Hungary, Austria, Germany and so on choose to spend a week of October at the Festival! Because the audience awarded, again and again, its trust to the organizers, the festival has grown a great deal, and, as a result and a symbol of this, we have decided to extend the event to a 4 day affair, instead of 2, like before.
