Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth Streaming New Song
Classic Rock today premieres the epic centerpiece of Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth's self-titled debut album. Check out "La Mano Poderosa" below, and you can pick up the self-titled album February 17th, 2015.
Eleven minutes of shifting sands and foreboding intonations potently convey the ominous nature of the band's end-times music, with periods of decisive and direct riffing interspersed with captivating lamenting melodies.
Notes vocalist/guitarist Tad Doyle of the track, "Originally the main riff was one of the first songs for Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, conceived in 2007 and developed over a period of seven years until this release. Lyrically, the subject matter is of the notion that one has been here for thousands of years. This comes with the realization that there are 'old souls' who may have been here many times and have witnessed glimpses of past lives through a series of déjà vus. Some who have lived as hunter gatherers working soil, some as soldiers on bloody battlefields joining their blades with others flesh, and those who have witnessed their lives as other living beings and animals. This return to 'here,' being the last time."
In related news, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth will bring a sonic crush to the stage with a special record release show. The ritual will take place on April 18th, 2015 at The Columbia City Theater in Seattle with additional live performances to be announced in the coming weeks.

Godhunter Releasing New Split
Godhunter and Amigo The Devil present "The Outer Dark," the first recorded collaboration between the downtrodden sludge/metal perpetrators and banjo-strumming murderfolk soloist, which will see release on Valentine's Day.
The morose two-song 7" bears a heart-wrenching original track named "Weeping Willow" leading things off on the A-side, and a stark rendition of Nirvana's "Something In The Way" on the B-side, and the whole thing showcasing both acts in an entirely new way.
Now just a week from its morose public destination, The Obelisk has exclusively premiered a new video for the A-side ballad, which can be seen below. The video was created by Frank Huang, diehard videographer for Metal Injection's Pit Full Of Shit live video column and more. More...
Grey Skies Fallen Releasing EPs In Physical Format
After the independent release of "The Many Sides Of Truth" LP in 2014, NYC-area epic death/doom act Grey Skies Fallen now declares several new releases in 2015, beginning with the official unearthing of two of the band's prior digital-only releases on physical format for the first time.
Grey Skies Fallen's fourth release, the four-song "Along Came Life" EP, was released in 2010, and recorded during tumultuous times for the band. This is the last recording with original member Joe D'Angelo on guitar, and sitting in on bass was Paul LaPlaca (October Thorns, Zandelle).
Two years later, the band released the three-song "Introspective" EP in 2012, and was recorded at a point when the group was technically a three-piece, featuring Dave Case (Helmet, Afterbirth) filling-in and providing bass tracks. This album includes the twenty-one minute title track, perhaps the most ambitious recording from the band to date.
Both recorded at Keith Moore at his Audio Playground in Patchogue, New York, together, these "lost EPs" fill in the long gap in between LPs, bridging 2006's "Two Way Mirror" and 2014's "The Many Sides of Truth," now available in one physical package. The band comments: More...

Saviours Signs With Listenable
With four full-lengths and seven EPs to the band's name and having played in twenty-one countries, Oakland, California-based metal unit Saviours continues to forge ahead with towering riffs, colossal rhythms, infectious guitar harmonies, and an obsession with the end of times.
Saviours opens a new chapter in its winding career with a partnership with French label Listenable Records, which will release the band's new album this Fall. Said Saviours in a collective statement:
"We're very happy to finally announce our deal with Listenable. They're true supporters of what we do and have been a pleasure to work with thus far. Since last June we've been beating the new songs into submission and now it's really starting to take shape and sound killer.
"There are some doomy crushers and faster ragers in the mix so it's sounding like a natural and logical continuation of where we left off with Death's Procession. In March we'll play some West Coast shows then begin recording at Type Foundry in Portland with the inimitable Billy Anderson. Can't wait to get this new record out, it's been too fucking long!"
Saviours is:
Austin Barber - guitar, vocals
Sonny Reinhardt - guitar, vocals
Scott Batiste - drums
Andy Anderson - bass

Heaven's Cry Recording New Album
Having successfully returned from a seven-year hiatus with the release of 2012 comeback “Wheels of Impermanence,” the Montreal-based progressive metallists from Heaven's Cry are excited to reveal that they have entered the studio to begin recording a new record.
Featuring Pierre St-Jean (vocals, guitar), Sylvain Auclair (vocals, bass), Eric Jarrin (guitars), and René Lacharité (drums), the album is expected to be released this Fall.
Jarrin — also known for his work with Despised Icon — commented, “We are extremely excited about the new album. It’s coming along great. Drums and bass are recorded and guitar tracks are well on the way! So far, this is the most mature and sophisticated album we’ve written. Expect long and complex songs with intricate passages mixed with easy-to-listen song structures topped with our usual prog finesse.”
Stay tuned for more information in the coming months. In addition to recording new material with Heaven's Cry, Auclair can currently be seen as a contestant on “Le Voix,” Quebec’s version of the popular reality show/talent competition “The Voice.” Auclair entered the first round with a cover of the Foo Fighters classic “Best of You” and will be continuing to compete throughout the season.

Asphyx Re-Issuing Albums On Vinyl
Originally released in 1991 ("The Rack") and 1992 ("Last One On Earth"), the first two full-length albums by Dutch death/doom commando Asphyx are finally returning back on vinyl. Both are set for worldwide release on March 16th, 2015 via Century Media Records. Asphyx vocalist Martin van Drunen has checked in with the following comment about these re-releases:
"Over the years Century Media has put out a lot of superb vinyl re-releases. Especially for that LP freak of today for whom it's difficult, if not impossible, to find the originals. Even I couldn't obtain everything as a young metalhead back in the days and therefore I am happy that labels do decide to re-release some sonic classics.
"And so is the case with these first two Asphyx albums. After the mauling 'Death...The Brutal Way' and crushing 'Deathhammer,' old and new Asphyx fans are now given the opportunity to add 'The Rack' and 'Last One On Earth' to their vinyl collection. Two outstanding re-releases by dedicated metalheads for loyal metalheads. Kept as close to the originals as possible, not only when it comes to the artwork of ancient master Axel Hermann, but also sound-wise these take you back to the early days of true death metal...and of Century Media as well!
"The band is proud of these milestones, as lots of the tracks are still and always will be played live with the intensity and volume Asphyx is so well-known for. So get your hands on these albums, and give 'em a deafening spin on your record player! Vinyl...The Brutal Way!"
Both vinyl editions orientate on the original pressings and feature the original covers. Both albums are based upon the original early 90's recordings and were specially mastered for vinyl by Patrick W. Engel / Temple Of Disharmony (Massacra, Dissection, Grave) in December 2014. You can also see Asphyx live on these dates: More...

Lifeless Signs With Fast Break! Records
Fast Break! Records is currently preparing for the impending release of "Dream," the new full-length from New Jersey's devastating Lifeless (not to be confused with the German band of the same name). Fast Break! had this to say:
"Formed in 2008, in the demise of Delaware-based Dead And Buried and New Jersey's When These Days End, the motivated members of both bands united to form Lifeless -- also known as Lifeless NLFTW -- who began immediately writing and recording material and taking it to the masses live anywhere they feasibly could.
"With monolithic, metallic tones, grooves which plow through everything with the force of glaciers, and pummeling breakdowns, the band was quickly recognized as a new force in the East Coast hardcore scene with which to be reckoned. Lifeless' debut LP, 'NLFTW,' was released by Harvcore Records in 2011, and was followed two years later with the If I Could Be Anyone But Me 7" by the same label.
"They expanded the scope of their attack, and began touring beyond their Eastern US turn, invading the Southeast and Midwest regions on tour, began picking up more high profile festival slots including every installment of the annual This Is Hardcore Fest in Philadelphia, and crossed the Atlantic for their first European excursion in 2012. The band will be joined by Detroit rockers, Against The Grain.
From there Lo-Pan will take a short breather before crossing the Atlantic for a European expedition that will see the band level the stage of Roadburn, Desert Fest, Asymmetry Fest and more with psyche peddlers, Abrahma, and psychedelic war metallers, Black Pyramid, sharing the stage on select dates.

Secrets Of The Sky Signs With Metal Blade
The Oakland, CA natives from Secrets of the Sky have signed with Metal Blade Records and will be releasing their sophomore album in the Summer of 2015! Metal Blade comments:
"The psychedelic doom act released 'To Sail Black Waters' through Kolony Records in late 2013. The album was incredibly well received and Decibel Magazine declared that it 'overflows with that rare quality of sounding familiar while remaining wholly unique…Do not miss this.' Popular blog Metal Injection took describing the band's sound to task and said 'imagine if you tossed Neurosis, more recent Immortal, and Porcupine Tree into a blender…it's an awesome fucked up mix.'
"After touring in support of 'To Sail Black Waters' over the past two years, Secrets of the Sky are prepared to take their next step. They've completed tracking their sophomore album at Trident Studios with producer/engineer Juan Urteaga (Testament, Machine Head, Cattle Decapitation). Details and new music will be released this Summer."
Secrets of the Sky had this to say about joining forces with Metal Blade Records: "We are very excited to be joining the Metal Blade Records roster. The Metal Blade legacy, reputation and commitment to heavy music has stood the test of time. The staff we have been working with genuinely 'get' what it is that our band is doing and have been tremendously supportive of it thus far.
"We are also pleased to announce that our second full length will be released in the coming months. The album was again recorded by Juan Urteaga at Trident Studios and is another abstract concept piece. We believe we pushed ourselves in writing it to further develop our sound and we put more focus on creating a collection of songs that flow from beginning to end, while still retaining the cinematic qualities we originally set out with on our debut." Shortly after, Victory Records took note of the band's punishing brand of melodic metal, and will be releasing the new album, "Hope Within Hatred," on April 21st, 2015.
"This has been a day we have been working and striving for since we were 13 years old, just barely picking up an instrument. The fact that we have signed with Victory, who have produced some of our favorite bands of all time, is unreal,” Shattered Sun vocalist Marcos Leal offers. “This is a dream come true for six small town guys and it's truly an honor to be a part of this family." Down's video for the song "Conjure" can be seen below. The haunting and twisted ode to '70s horror films was directed by JM Stelly and Chris Trainor at Lab Productions. "Conjure" is taken from the band's latest EP "Down IV - Part Two".
States Philip Anselmo about "Conjure": "'Conjure' is basically the old adage of be careful of what elements are hovering around you at all times, and be careful what you want out of life and what you bring into your life, because a lot of times it might seem crystal clear and the right thing, whatever that thing may be, but in reality it's a trap waiting to happen or to be sprung. So it's basically, 'be careful what you wish for,' something like that."
