CELTIC FROST mainman Tom Gabriel Fischer has posted the following message on his official blog:
"It was predominantly CELTIC FROST's reemergence as an aggregate of the friendship between Martin [Ain; bass] and me which made it possible to not only discuss CELTIC FROST's history at length in the course of the past seven years but also that of HELLHAMMER.
"My contributions to HELLHAMMER and CELTIC FROST have been an utterly personal quest, fueled by the circumstances of my youth. Anything that arose around it is, at the end of the day, of no importance. What we human beings are creating on this planet, and how serious we (including me) are taking ourselves while doing it, is in actual fact completely insignificant within the grandness and continuation of the universe.
"It is truly flattering that our past music is being recognized now. But, far from wanting to be ungrateful or arrogant, this music only counts for me on a level so personal that nobody will ever see nor understand it."
According to LiveGuide, KORN has tapped BIOHAZARD (original lineup's 20th-anniversary reunion), CHIMAIRA and BLOODSIMPLE to provide support on KORN's upcoming Australian and New Zealand dates:

April 17 - Adelaide, AUS - Entertainment Centre
April 18 - Melbourne, AUS - Vodafone Arena

April 22 - Brisbane, AUS - Riverstage
April 24 - Auckland, NZ - Vector Arena
KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer left the band's European tour last month for "personal and family reasons," according to a statement posted by the band at its official web site. Singer Jonathan Davis said, "We fully support Munky's need to be home right now and because we want to come through for all of our European fans, the tour will go on. It's what Munky wants us to do, too. We promise to give it our all every night!"
In a MySpace bulletin, Munky stated about his decision to leave the tour, "If you want to better understand my departure, then listen to the words in the song 'Watching the Wheels' by John Lennon."
Although his departure is not seen as permanent, Shaffer is the third original member of KORN to exit in the last three years. Guitarist Brian "Head" Welch left in early 2005, while drummer David Silveria went on "temporary hiatus" in late 2006 and has yet to return.
KORN's current touring lineup includes guitarists Shane Gibson and Rob Patterson, and ex-ARMY OF ANYONE drummer Ray Luzier, in addition to remaining original members Davis and bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu.
HATRED, the band featuring Tim Clayborne (PAINMUSEUM) and Joe Joblonski (INHUMAN VOID), is scheduled to release its new CD, "Burning Paradise", on May 29. The follow-up to 2000's "The Offering" (Demolition Records; Hell House Entertainment/I.V. Productions) is being recorded with Ron Vento at Night Sky Studios in Waldorf, Maryland. Dave Lozano, formerly of the Texas thrash band DEVASTATION, was behind the kit for some of the material and James Dell of Rochester, New York will take care of the drum duties for some of the other songs that are yet to be tracked. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Hear Them Scratching", "Evil" and "Weak and Wounded".
PAINMUSEUM — which features in its ranks Clayborne alongside "Metal" Mike Chlasciak (HALFORD, SEBASTIAN BACH, TESTAMENT), Bobby Jarzombek (HALFORD, SEBASTIAN BACH) and Steve Digiorgio (SADUS, TESTAMENT) — has released two CDs this far — "Metal for Life" (2004) and "The Right to Remain Violent" (2006). Jablonski also released an album with BLACKMASS, "Conquering Legions of Astaroth", in 2005 via Grim Nocturnal Records.
According to James McCarthy from Wales On Sunday, Millennium Stadium bosses are making an audacious bid to bring rock gods LED ZEPPELIN to Wales.

MANES, the Norwegian band featuring members of THIRD AND THE MORTAL, ATROX and CHTON, has parted ways with Candlelight Records. The group says, "We'll probably use this 'window of opportunity' to do various stuff, so, expect a frenzy of 'free,' 'open' and 'experimental' activity (not just music) for a while before we start hunting for a 'new home."
The band continues, "'Reinvention' has been made available at Manes.no. Six remixes of songs from [the latest MANES album] 'How The World Came To An End' by a bunch of great groups and individuals, such as RUNE SØRGÅRD, ZWEISS, SHADOW ORCHESTRA, RACHMIEL, DJ DON TOMASO. [Also available is] 'Solve Et Coagula', a re-recording of two songs from 1994-95, with a few collaborators: Niklas Kvarforth from SHINING, Malefic from XASTHUR and Geir Nilsen for the THIRD AND THE MORTAL, and more.... and, if everything goes according to plan, there will also be remixes/remakes by people from BLUT AUS NORD and ISIS. So, quite exciting." More...

AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry was the featured guest on Eddie Trunk's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM last night (Friday, February 15). Some highlights:
* Joe is doing two shows with his sons' band TAB THE BAND. They will play deep AEROSMITH cuts ("Combination"), some JOE PERRY PROJECT stuff, some covers, and more. These special shows take place at the Hard Rock in Boston on February 29 and Hard Rock Café in New York City on March 1. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.
* AEROSMITH has had many starts and stops on a new CD. They will start very seriously recording a new CD in a month or so. Perry feels the band is better than ever as players and is ready to make a great new CD.
* Joe spoke about the value and chemistry of bands having original lineups. Making the point that AEROSMITH and CHEAP TRICK are the only two from the '70s still intact.
* Perry said he can understand why Eddie Van Halen would want to play with his son, but can not understand how they would not have had Michael Anthony back in VAN HALEN when they were that close to a true reunion and they could bury the axe with David Lee Roth.
