Mediaskare Records recently signed Tucson, Arizona death metal band A Breath Before Surfacing. The group's debut full-length, titled "Death Is Swallowed In Victory," was produced by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish) and will be available on May 27th. In the meantime, two tracks from the album can be heard here.
Former SKID ROW vocalist Sebastian Bach has scheduled a headlining show in Oslo, Norway at the Rockefeller on June 4. His schedule is now shaping up as follows:

"Dead Silent", the new video from Finnish atmospheric doom metallers SILENTIUM, can be viewed here. The track comes off the group's "Seducia" album, which was released in January 2006 via Dynamic Arts Records. The CD was the sequel to the "Frostnight" single, which came out in October 2005. According to a Dynamic Arts press release, the album "delivers bombastical, cold atmospheres" with a total running time of 48 minutes.
"Seducia" was the group's first full-length release to feature vocalist Riina Rinkinen, who joined the group in July 2004.
SILENTIUM keyboardist Sami Boman earlier in the month issued the following update:
"It's about time to get busy again. The new material for the next SILENTIUM album is starting to get its final shape. Still much training to do, but the writing is almost done. By the end of this year we all should have a complete album in our hands. I have to say I'm more pleased with the new material, than I have ever been before. In my opinion the most relevant thing is that I don't have to carry all the weight of the composing on my own shoulders anymore." More...
Norway's GORELORD has inked a deal with Sworn Records.
GORELORD is the one-man "deathgroove" project of Frediablo, formerly of NECROPHAGIA, GRIMFIST and HEMNUR. According to a press release, "GORELORD stands for heavy, groove-infested death metal with a very strong horror theme."
GORELORD's new album, "Chapter IV - Hellbound", is tentatively scheduled for release late summer. A song from the CD and the album's cover artwork can be found on the Sworn Records MySpace page.
GORELORD has so far released three albums and two split EPs. The project's third full-length CD, "Norwegian Chainsaw Massacre", was issued in 2006 via Coffin Records and Red Stream Inc.

Prosthetic Records is proud to announce the addition of Pennsylvania-based CENTURY to the label’s roster. Boasting a forward-thinking approach to heavy music, the band has already garnered critical praise from 2006’s "Faith and Failure" and plans to release its latest effort, the concept-based "Black Ocean" April 29 worldwide, and a day prior in Europe.
Currently being mastered by Kim Rosen at West West Side Music in New York, a completed version of the title track from "Black Ocean" and the album’s cover art are available on CENTURY’s MySpace page. Two years in the making, and with the pending release of ‘Black Ocean,’ CENTURY frontman Carson Slovak says, “Black Ocean is being released? On Prosthetic Records? Well that’s great!”
In conjunction with the release of Black Ocean, CENTURY is launching a special album website. The interactive full-flash site will feature exclusive content, including hidden features and a bonus track only accessible by solving a code found in the album’s artwork. The website will be officially launched April 28 along with the album’s release.
Austria’s lords of supreme death/black metal art, BELPHEGOR, will be stopping by the offices of INDIE 103.1 this Sunday (February 24th) to premiere the title track from their upcoming album “Bondage Goat Zombie.” Helmuth and Serpenth will be speaking about all things metal and obscene with Full Metal Jackie on her show CHAOS, which airs at 10pm PST on INDIE 103.1 in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Fans can also can also listen to a stream of the broadcast online at www.indie1031.com. CHAOS re-airs on KNAC.COM twice a week; Monday nights from 7-9pm PST and Sunday mornings 7-9am PST.
BELPHEGOR recently entered Andy Classen's Stage One Studios in Kassel, Germany to begin recording their new album, "Bondage Goat Zombie," for an April 11, 2008 European release via Nuclear Blast Records (April 15 in North America). The follow-up to 2006's "Pestapokalypse VI," "Bondage Goat Zombie" was recorded at Stage One Studios in Kassel, Germany.
Commented the band: "The album features artwork in classic and disturbing BELPHEGOR style. Some of the nine brand new tracks will deal with the writings of the infamous Marquis de Sade. Sounds like the ultimate BELPHEGOR treatment? Expect supreme death/ black metal art."

BELPHEGOR recently completed a European tour with SIX FEET UNDER, NILE and FINNTROLL.
Liverpool based crossover-thrashers SSS are finalising plans for the recording of their official Earache debut, due for release later in the year.
As many as 25 songs have been written during sessions for the album, with around 15 to be selected for the album itself. With drum tracks due to be laid down in April, the band hope to complete the recording with the help of Andy Mason, who also worked on the band's self titled debut.
Lead shouter Foxy elaborates further on the progress so far:
"Its all systems go our end for the next record, we cant wait to get crackin' on it in the studio. We've got a load of new tracks finished and in the bag - a good mix to keep people on their toes. Plus Pushead on board to do the art - so hit puree .....the tage is set for a ripper." More...
As previously reported, Dutch melodic thrashers DETONATION will headline the Avalanchefestival in Delhi, India which begins today (February 22nd). Avalanche is the heavy-music portion of the four-day cultural Moksha festival, an annual event organized at the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (N.S.I.T.).
The band have also announced an additional show on February 24th at the Eastwind Festival in New Delhi, India.

The cover artwork for the new TIAMAT album, "Amanethes", can be viewed at HeavyLaw.com. Due in Germany on April 18 via Nuclear Blast Records, the CD was produced by Johan Edlund, recorded mainly at The Mansion in Greece, and additionally recorded at Studio Mega in Sweden and Cue in Greece. The album was mixed and mastered by Siggi Bemm in Woodhouse Studios, Germany in January 2008.

TIAMAT's last studio album, "Prey", was released in 2003 through Century Media.
After more than ten years together, Houston, TX hardcore band Will To Live will be breaking up this spring. The group, who released an album with Spook City Records in 2006, will play a few final shows prior to a farewell show slated for Houston in May.
A 60th anniversary "celebration" for Seton Hall University radio station WSOU will be held at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville NJ on April 18th. Doors open at 6pm and admission is $25. Bands scheduled to perform include Shadows Fall, Unearth, Otep, A Life Once Lost, Bloodsimple, and Five Finger Death Punch.
Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM will film a video for the track "Taking the World by Storm" this weekend in New York. The clip will be directed by David Brodsky, who has previously worked with GOD FORBID, GWAR and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, among others.
"Taking the World by Storm" comes off the group's upcoming album, "Prevail", which was mixed at AudioHammer Studios in Orlando, Florida with producer Jason Suecof. The CD, which is scheduled for release via Nuclear Blast Records on May 23 (Europe) and May 27 (North America), features guest solo appearances by Pat O'Brien (CANNIBAL CORPSE), Dave Linsk (OVERKILL) and producer and guitar shredder Jason Suecof himself. The band promises "a monstrous album that will pummel you from start to finish." Look for a brand new track to be debuted on the band’s MySpace page in the coming months!

Israel's "Mesopotamian black metal" band ARALLU has set "Desert Battles - Descending to the Sands" as the title of its fourth album, tentatively due this spring. The CD, which is currently being mixed, will contain eight songs.

The group's third CD, "The Demon from the Ancient World", was released in 2005 via the Czech label Epidemie Records.
ARALLU opened for Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM on September 29 in Tel Aviv. ARALLU filmed the performance for its second DVD (the follow-up to 2003's "Visual Chaos Invasion"), tentatively due next year.
Italian "extreme epic metal" band STORMLORD has signed a deal with Locomotive Records (GRAVE DIGGER, ASTRAL DOORS, BENEDICTUM) for the release of its long-awaited fourth full-length album, titled "Mare Nostrum".
Commented the group: "We are so excited about this new deal. Locomotive Records is one of the leading labels in metal scene and they will grant a worldwide availability to our new album."
STORMLORD entered The Outer Sound Studios (NOVEMBRE, NECRODEATH, KLIMT 1918) last month with producer Giuseppe Orlando to begin recording the CD, which is scheduled for a May release. "This album is such a great bet for us, it'll see STORMLORD going back to an epic sound near to our first album 'Supreme Art Of War' that almost ten years ago was able to influence tons of bands still growing strong in the scene, even if the style of our recent albums will not be missing," the band saud. "You'll find some surprises like an acoustic song, folk instruments and even some sitar parts, everything mixed with an extreme-epic attitude like it was back in the days, but with the nowadays production and a well developed technical skill."
