Former CONSTRUCDEAD/current GODSIC frontman Peter Tuthill has issued the following update:
"In November I got the opportunity to try out for the Swedish metal band CARNAL FORGE as singer! Having been a fan of their music since they released their debut, there was no hesitation from my part to try out. I went to Sala and did a couple of auditions, and shortly after I got the job!"
"This has been secret up 'till now, so I couldn't tell you all earlier. In March-April CARNAL FORGE will hit the road and do a European co-headline tour with the legendary British thrashers ONSLAUGHT! The band will also play numerous festivals this summer, and more tours are on the horizon. For the time being I need to focus all my energy on CARNAL FORGE, so the last recordings for the GODSIC album [Peter's solo project] will unfortunately have to be put on hold for the time being. I will have this album out sometime during this year though, but at this point I can't say when. Hope to see some of you on the tour!"
CARNAL FORGE's tour with ONSLAUGHT is scheduled to kick off in April. A list of dates can be found at this location.
Californian metallers DARKSUN have issued the following update:
"Thats right, after playing a sold out show back in August we went straight into the studio to begin production on our CD. We have spent six months working our asses off just so this would be one of the best CDs anyone has ever listened to.
The CD will be available the night of our first show back on March 16th at the Whiskey A Go Go with our good friends DIVINE HERESY. The album is titled Eternal Crucifixion and it's the heaviest mother fucker you've listened to.
In 2008 we take this band to the next level, thanks for all the support. A brand new website should be up within two or three weeks so get your asses to the show on the 16th because it will sell out."
As previously reported, ECHOES OF ETERNITY are currently on the road in North America with TRAIL OF TEARS (headliner) and UNEXPECT. The band have announced the cancellation of the remainder of their North American appearances.

Belgian black metal band PANCHRYSIA have uploaded the new song 'Phantom Asylum' at this location. Tampa, Florida-based death metallers BRUTALITY have reformed and are working on material for a new album. The band's current lineup consists of Jeff Acres (bass, vocals), Scott Reigel (vocals), Jay Fernandez (guitar) and Demian Heftel (guitar). A new drummer is currently being sought. You can contact the group at firstname.lastname@example.org or go to the BRUTALITY MySpace page and leave a message.
BRUTALITY was formed in 1986 by Acres. The band released four demos and two seven-inch EPs before getting signed to Nuclear Blast Records in 1992. The group recorded three albums for the label before disbanding in 1996.
Legendary British/American heavy metal trio RAVEN has posted a new song, entitled "Breaking You Down", on their official web site. The track comes off the group's new album, "Walk through Fire", which was recorded at the Assembly Line Studios with engineer/mixer Kevin 131 (PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS).
Commented RAVEN bassist/vocalist John Gallagher, "It's taken this long so we are just crossing the t's and dotting the i's. It sounds so good we just want it exact — it's the right combination of spontaneous lunacy captured with the sounds we've always wanted."
RAVEN's last studio album, "One for All", was released in 1999 via Massacre Records. More...

MAYHEM vocalist Attila Csihar and guitarist Blasphemer are rumoured to have spent over 100.000 EURO on a special stage-helicopter for the upcoming European tour. Sources close to the legendary band says that "they are very happy with the way things are shaping up" and that "it will show Mayhem from a more modern and mature side".
At the time of posting, Mayhem's label, Season of Mist, is unable to confirm above.
Season of Mist has announced the signing of Finland's thrash/melodic metal band Dead Shape Figure. The band will put out their first full-length album in the first half of 2008.
Here's singer Galzi's comment regarding this new collaboration: "We're fucking stoked for this opportunity with Season of Mist, and what it brings on the plate. The opportunity to head bash our message to millions of people, to be all about the music, no bullshit. We're anxiously looking forward to this year and what kind of journey we can pull off. A journey with all you crazy thrash heads out there."
You can get a taste of the band's debut album "The Grand Karoshi," by downloading an MP3 of the "Blithering Icon" track.
Brutal Viking/death metal band Wulfgar is going on tour in Europe from October 3-24 of 2008 with Brazil's Unearthly. More news will follow regarding venues and so on as soon as it is settled.
The unveiling of the new Earth studio album is upon us. The band returns once again to it’s continuing evolution. Where “Hex” reveled in dark satanic twang and austere american beauty, “The Bees Made Honey In The Lion’s Skull” finds Dylan Carlson and the band growing into a harder, more rock, american Gospel and impovisitory direction framed by truly psychedelic production and blazing guitar sounds.
Earth is also very honored to be joined on this record for three songs by legendary and virtuoso guitarist Bill Frisell. Mr. Frisell adds a brilliant texture and counterpoint to the scintillating and inspired riffs of Dylan carlson and the band. Adrienne Davies joins again on drums lending a classic and steady feel to the proceedings. Steve Moore also returns adding heavy hammond organ and his intense jazz inspired piano playing. Live Bassist Don McGreevy also makes his full length Earth debut on this record. The CD comes nicely packaged in a slip-case/o-card and features artwork by Arik Roper.
"Bees"… will be available in stores on Feb. 26th, however here is a chance to hear it prior to that date by ordering directly from Southern Lord (they also have an exclusively authorized t-shirt and sweatshirt with the killer artwork from the album).
The band is about to embark on a month-long European tour with Sir Richard Bishop. They will have copies of the special tour split 12? with Sir Richard Bishop with them, and now this is the only place to get them as the copies for sale via the Southern Lord store were snatched up in a matter of hours.
Here are Earth's European tour dates with Sir Richard Bishop: More...
California-based power metallers AGENT STEEL will be performing their first show of 2008 in Juarez, Mexico (just across the El Paso, Texas Santa Fe Bridge) on Saturday, February 16th at the New Rainbow Bar/Club along with HELSTAR and special guests HISTERIA, and INNOCENT EXILE.
According to James McCarthy from Wales On Sunday, MOTÖRHEAD legend Lemmy Kilmister has professed he hopes to die onstage ‘like Tommy Cooper (Welsh prop comedian and magician).’
But the 62-year-old Anglesey-born rocker, whose songs include 'Killed By Death', is sure however he goes, he’s going to hell.
The one-time Jimi Hendrix roadie said: “Hopefully I’ll die onstage like Tommy Cooper. I always thought he went out really well – to the sound of laughter. I want people clapping and laughing and shouting hooray.
“It would be awful to go off down the tunnel with ‘boo’ ringing in your ears. I am going to hell though. That is where all the pool tables are.”
The singer also revealed he is a big fan of THE BEATLES, ZZ TOP and ‘90s funk metallers LIVING COLOUR.
He hopes to one day make a record as good as Tres Hombres or Tejas by ZZ Top. He said: “I haven’t come close yet, but we’re working on it.”

Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR were honored in the "Best Video" category at the 36th annual Spellemann awards (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards) for their "The Serpentine Offering" clip. The largest and oldest Norwegian music awards show was held Saturday night (February 2) at the Spektrum in Oslo, Norway and was broadcast live on the Norwegian channel TV2.
The "The Serpentine Offering" video was shot by Swedish director Patric Ullaeus (LACUNA COIL, KAMELOT) of Revolver Film Company AB and was DIMMU BORGIR's first promotional clip for their most recent album, "In Sorte Diaboli".
The members of DIMMU BORGIR were presented with the award on Friday — one day before the official Spellemann ceremony — during an appearance on the Norwegian TV program "Fredag" on TV2 with host Stål Talsnes.
The nominees in the "Best Video" category were as follows:
DIMMU BORGIR - "The Serpentine Offering" (Nuclear Blast)
HEROES & ZEROS - "A Strange Constellation" (Nightliner/Universal)
MY MIDNIGHT CREEPS - "Don`t Let’Em Bring You Down" (MMC Records)
TURBONEGRO - "Do You Do You Dig Destruction" (Scandinavian Leather Recordings)

This is the only off date on the Bullet For My Valentine tour. The show at the Newport Centre was such a success we wanted the chance to give you guys a full Skindred set.
Doors are at 7pm.
Spread the word guys!
See you there!"
Onslaught have posted the following message on their Myspace page:
"Onslaught have replaced departed guitarist Al Jordan with awesome new shredder Andy Rosser-Davies..
Nige Rockett comments.'Unfortunately Al was unable to commit to any touring with the band as from late last year due to personal circumstances, live shows are what we are all about, so the situation was unworkable.
As many of our German fans will know Andy came in at very short notice to play on the tour with Ektomorf and did a fantastic job..He is phenemenol guitar player with a very aggressive style which suits Onslaught perfectly, we were stoked when he accepted our offer.
It was a pity Al had to go at such a positive time, but sometimes i guess these things happen and we will move on to bigger and better things.. we all wish him and his family all the best with his new career at Asda Walmart..."
LEGION OF THE DAMNED vocalist Maurice Swinkels has posted this message on the band's official website:
"Greetings all male and female thrashers out there. I think it's about time to bring you an update on the LEGION OF THE DAMNED camp right here from the front. It's snowing outside right now, which brings no good feelings towards next week's shows we are going to do in Finland haha. It's probably fucking freezing there. But seriously, we are looking forward to play Finland and we can't wait. It's been months ago we've been on stage, and Finland will be the first to see our saved anger and rage unleashed. They can expect the BEST songs out of the LWGION trilogy: 'Malevolent Rapture', 'Sons Of The Jackal' and, of course, 'Feel The Blade'.
'Feel The Blade' has been released in January and it was a huge success, not only in Germany we entered the official album charts, but so did we in Finland, Norway and Austria! We wanna thank everybody out there - promoters, journalists and above all fans to make this all happen! You KILL.
But LEGION OF THE DAMNED is LEGION OF THE DAMNED, and that we decided not to play a lot this year and work on new material was a good decision. We are working very hard on new material and so far three songs are semi-ready. We even already know the album title, but in this stage we are not going to reveal anything. This shows that we are hungry and still have a lot of aggression inside to make absolute KILLER songs!!
Expect LEGION OF THE DAMNED at its best and with songs that hit you right in the face even before you have heard more than two songs. Has LEGION OF THE DAMNED ever let you down with this?
The new album, which will be released in 2009, will be our last for now and we will probably focus on a lot of shows.
All I can say is that everyone out there should prepare his or her headbanging skills, because the new album and concerts in 2009 will be a serious attack on your neck muscles."
POWERMAN 5000 have posted this message on their MySpace page:
"POWERMAN 5000 is in the middle of writing music for a new record. Which has got me thinking about the best way to complete the process. I need to find a new way, I don't want to follow the rules. Music should be more like beer. Hear me out.
If you like to drink beer, you don't just guzzle one oversized beer once a year and hope that you like it, do you? Of course not! You probably find a multitude of creative ways to quench your thirst. Maybe you knock back a few at a sunny afternoon BBQ, or hit you favorite bar just around midnight. You experiment with brands that you've never tried and occasionally just refrain from having anything. In fact, the way you approach beer is more than likely the way you approach most things in life.
So why the fuck did the release of music become such an incredibly predictable and stale process? Well, I'll tell you... it is because everyone fell victim to the major label system. Even if you weren't signed to a major chances are you thought like one. Here is how that process generally worked.
Write a bunch of songs in a vacuum. Probably too many songs at once, because you thought that you had to make an album that contained 16 songs and stretched to an hour or so. By writing too many songs at once (in a vacuum), a lot of them were not that great but you used them anyway because CDs held a lot of info. In other words you were making your grand artistic statement to the specs of a plastic disc. More...
THE AUTUMN PROJECT have posted this message on their MySpace page:
After months of studio recording and more studio recording THE AUTUMN PROJECT with friend and assigned audio engineer Logan Christian have decided to scrap it all... What? Why? We have decided to go down a new road and see how it feels. The material is written, the place has been chosen and now it is up to us.
The place is our home - The Vaudeville Mews, Des Moines, IA. The gist is the album is being cut live in front of no one at the place that started it all. Promising to be the heaviest, darkest, vibiest record in quiet THE AUTUMN PROJECT history.
We will have a bunch of photos, video and perhaps an MP3 for you soon!"
Drummer Renato Graccia from Brazillian metallers VIPER has issued the following update:
"Unfortunately, after the December 1st concert in São Paulo, I started feeling pain in my back and right leg. After a number of acupuncture sessions and some painkillers that did not work, I passed through several exams and I have found out that the problem is a bit more serious. Because of that, I won’t be performing any musical activities for now, which includes the next concerts of the All My Life tour. But, show must go on! During the next days we will be defining the drummer that will replace me while I recover. We are sure that he will be extremely competent and that he will fill in my shoes just right. Soon I’ll be on the road again with Viper, ready to rock and roll!! I thank you guys in advance for the huge support I’ve been receiving from my friends and I’d like to apologize for any problems I may have caused."
