Set Your Goals has issued an update regarding two DVDs projects:
"As most of you know, we had an original DVD edited back in the fall and winter of 2006. This DVD, titled 'Work In Progress,' compiled great documentary style band footage from that entire 2006 year and it was, what we felt to be, a perfect representation of each member of Set Your Goals. But due to a high amount of copyrighted song material we used to edit our footage to, our attorney and label both advised us against releasing the DVD. So ironically enough, 'Work In Progress' is indeed a work-in-progress and has yet to see an official release date. We are still hoping to gain clearance on the music we used in the feature, and hope to get this out in some way still (maybe an online download or stream of sorts) as we are all proud of how it turned out.
"So what about the new SYG DVD? Well, while we are still figuring out how to make 'Work In Progress' viewable to the public, we have been busy compiling footage for a newer, more updated DVD. We have owed our record label, Eulogy Recordings, a DVD for over 2 years now and they are very anxious (as are we) for us to fulfill our DVD agreement and move on to new projects pertaining to SYG. A deadline of April 2008 has been put on this new untitled DVD, and though we are working hard to meet that deadline, we do not want to release any video material prematurely. Even if it does not hit stores by April, we want to promise you all a release by the end of the year.
"We have slowly but surely been going through various film clips we gathered over 2007 to find the best of live songs, interviews, and most importantly, tour shenaniganary! We have been avoiding using any filler or boring video footage just to meet release deadlines. We want to make sure we are giving you all a product you will want to watch time and time again."

Igor Cavalera left SEPULTURA in June 2006 due to "artistic differences." He has since been replaced by Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA). Igor's departure from SEPULTURA came five months after he announced that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January 2006). Filling in on drums during the band's spring 2006 European tour with IN FLAMES was Roy Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003.
Igor is the second Cavalera to leave SEPULTURA. In 1996, Max Cavalera exited the group after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as SEPULTURA's manager.
Igor and Max Cavalera are currently collaborating on a new project called CAVALERA CONSPIRACY. The group's debut album, "Inflikted", will be released in March via Roadrunner Records.

Bands for the limited run dates which will make up OZZFEST 2008 have started to surface. Like 2007, a shortened tour is expected, with rumored artists for this year’s lineup possibly featuring the likes of:
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE
THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN
BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME
FAIR TO MIDLAND
…more rumors TBA
It’s presently unclear whether the ‘freefest’ model will be adopted for this year or whether or not Ozzy will ship out by his lonesome or be joined by his fellow Birmingham compatriots for another BLACK SABBATH run.
Press from October of last year points to the likelihood of the former, rather than another reunion. The aging rocker was quoted as saying, “as far as I know” when quizzed over his headlining the summer roadshow. Regarding Sabbath he simply stated, “I’m the last person to be told anything. I’d love to do another [Black] Sabbath album. There are a bunch of things written. But the problem I’m having is it’s got to be at least on the same level as when we departed. If it’s not, then what’s the point in doing it?”
OZZFEST 2007 featured the following criterion:
1. Tickets/Entrance was free
2. Ozzy Osbourne headlined (…and debuted new music from Black Rain)
3. It was a 25-date haul that kicked off in LA on July 7

Withered has sent the following update on their recording and touring efforts:
“We’re hard at work on the new album,” entitled ‘Folie Circulaire,’ says Atlanta’s WITHERED. “Preproduction has begun and we’re entering the studio on Feb. 23 with producer and friend Phillip Cope (Kylesa, Baroness, Black Tusk). Some things worth mentioning: There will be a guest vocal appearance by Mark ‘Barney’ Greenway of Napalm Death and we’re recording a cover of Necrophobic’s ‘Into Armageddon.’ WITHERED is finally spreading the darkness to the West Coast and Southwest, too. And, we’re doing it solo! We’re bringing new merch as well. See all you west coast people in about a month!”
"Folie Circulaire" is the follow-up to 2005’s critically-acclaimed "Memento Mori," and will be the band’s Prosthetic Records debut. Tentatively scheduled for a May release, more information will be available shortly. An unnamed demo song from "Folie Circulaire," along with previous material, is available on WITHERED’s official MySpace page.

SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser has issued the following update:
"We started the writing process for the Sepultura new album today in our studio in Sao Paulo. All the equipament was prepared yesterday by our crew and today we tried some ideas for songs. We will follow kind of the same steps we did in our last album, Dante XXI, but this time we will be inspired by the book A Clockwork Orange, first released in 1962 written by Anthony Burgess and it's a movie, a classic, made by Stanley Kubrik. We will write our soundtrack for this story and Burgess' life will be an inspiration also to write the music, lyrics and for the artwork. Today at the studio, really good ideas came up, the vibe is great and the songs are coming in a easy and brutal way."
Rob Zombie has issued the following update:
"Well, I am getting bombarded about this, so I thought I would address it all at once. First off, The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto is my next film to be released. We are in the final stages of post-production now. So get ready it is fucking awesome. After that my next live action feature is called Tyrannosaurus Rex. I don't want to give away any details yet, but I will tell you that it has nothing to do with dinosaurs.
Tyrannosaurus Rex will be produced by Dimension Films and is scheduled for release on August 28, 2009."
