Sweden's Marionette has issued the following update about streaming two new songs online:
"Hi all
"Today you get your first taste of Enemies; we have posted 'The Swine' and 'Through Veils' onto our Myspace Page. The songs represent the new album in a good way we think: one of them is a more heavy song while the other one is more catchy. Either way, these songs take what we did on Spite to a new level. We hope you will love these songs as much as we do.
"Stay tuned for more updates as they will be frequent from here on! Enemies will be released in the first week of October via Listenable Records in Europe. Fans in North America and around the world stay tuned for more info on release dates."

Leverage Issues Recording Update
Finnish metallers Leverage have issued the following update about recording new material:
"Howdy hoo!
"A few words on the keyboard sessions...
"Once again I played and recorded things in the basement of our home. There's a place which I call "studio"/personal playground of mine...in other words 'RyhäPaja'.
"Just like with the Blind Fire-sessions, a huge thanks to Jari Mikkola who spent 'some' time to extract recorded audio files from Studio Audio's ProTools-sessions, one track for each instrument...including vocs and backing vocs. Once you have those files, it's quite easy to "search and find" a pleasant balance to work with. And for me, this is pretty important because it's not just about recording stuff, but also about arranging things at the same time. More...
Stryper Bassist To Sit Out U.S. Tour Dates
Christian rockers Stryper have issued the following update about replacing their bassist for their upcoming U.S. tour dates:
"Friends,
"Bassist Tracy Ferrie will not be performing on the U.S. leg of the Stryper tour. Instead, original bassist Timothy Gaines will be the sole bass player. What was originally planned as a 2-set show, will now be one full 90-minute show, consisting of all the greatest hits and new Stryper material. The band will be wearing new yellow and black outfits designed by the original outfit designer. All original members, Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, Oz Fox, and Tim Gaines will be performing on the 25th Anniversary U.S. tour.
"Tracy has made the very honorable decision, one in which we support, to put the needs of his family first. Contrary to what many may believe, most professional musicians (especially those with families) have other jobs when their band is not touring. And in order to provide for their families, they often need to find other means of work during non-touring times.
"We are living in extremely difficult economic times whereby finding a good day-job is difficult. Tracy has a great one. One that provides well for his family. Leaving this job could put his family in a tough situation upon returning from tour. We support Tracy in this decision to ensure security for his family. At the same time, we're excited to get back out on the road and share our new music and the 25th Anniversary show with our friends and fans whom we have not seen in a long time.
"We're honored to have been doing this for 25 years and blessed to have the opportunity to go out on tour this fall. Without you, our friends and fans, we would not have lasted this long. Thank you. See you on the road soon."

Before My End Breaks Up
Alabama death metal band Before My End announced they're breaking up.
"The past two years have been really meaningful to all of us. We've put so much heart, sweat, and tears into this band that it's really disappointing that we are having to post this blog, but things happen, people grow up and move on. The experiences and distance this band has made and have had are nothing that any of us ever expected. We've all experienced somewhat of a brotherhood and have made the best of friends with one another that it is sad to know that there will probably never be another Before My End show. The band just ultimately grew apart on terms of dedication and commitment due to some of the members just growing out of the idea of being in a band that would maybe one day pursue touring. There are no hard feelings between any members and we all support and understand each others reasons for wanting to leave. We will continue to log in to this myspace time and time again so if anyone wants to talk to us please feel free to do so.
"All of our members will soon be or one day be seeking new projects to work with. In any event that a former member of this band joins another band we will be sure to post something about it, just a way for you guys to keep in touch with us."
Scorngrain Completes New Album

The result is what were looking for; extreme metal with real industrial touch in it. More crunch in sound, catchy compositions and best production so far." More...
Downspell Nearing Completion of New Album
Alaskan/San Diego metal band DOWNSPELL are wrappin' up production on their new album. After losing the recording of their eagerly anticipated new album in the last mixing stages, Downspell regrouped and are in the last stages of polishing the album. But as guitarist Jake Phillips says "anytime you're that mad, let down, frustrated, depressed, etc... It usually leads to great fucking tunes!" Jake also added "we had A LOT of time to rework some songs that we had issues with and also get a few of the guest musicians back on the second take. Due to everyones touring/personal schedules we lost a few key guests that unfortunately couldn't redo their parts. But we still got RANDY BLYTHE of Lamb of God and also BOBBY FERRY from 16 (Relapse Records) to get in there and they definitely kicked some serious ass contributing." More...
