"I am pleased to confirm that all went very well at the show in Bergen, Norway, last saturday. We performed the longest set ever in the history of the band, and the local crew and the organization did a great job making the event run as according to our will as it did. We also enjoyed the chance to get to perform on the same stage as the legendary Virgina doom act, Pentagram. Thank you. Above all - thank you to the dedicated crowd attending. Sorry for keeping you waiting two years for this.

"Now, let that be made clear, there is more to come. The next confirmed show will be in Trondheim, October 19th, and there will be other live activities added later on. Further info will be announced on an updated the Gorgoroth website soon."

Dark Funeral Reveals New Album Details

Dark Funeral has issued the following update about their upcoming album "Angelus Exuro pro Eternus:"

"Ave everyone!

"Peter Tagtgren is currently mixing our new album at his Abyss Studios. Once we have approved the final mix, Jonas Kjellgren [Scar Symmetry] will be mastering it.

"By listening to the rough-mix, the final production will kill totally, no doubt! Can’t wait to blast the final result in the stereo!

"We decided to go for a bit rawer sound this time, and not as crystal clear and perhaps polished as our last album [Attera Totus Sanctus ©2005], but no worries. The production still holds the high quality that you would come to expect from us. We haven’t done ‘a Metallica’ so to say!

"During the last weekend we spent at the Abyss Studio we recorded a video for one of the new tracks. The video was shot in and outside an old and closed mental hospital. The environment was just killer. And besides, it suited the video theme perfect! The video is currently under editing by ‘Standard Film Team’. And within the next 2-3 weeks it should be ready for world premiere. However, due to the graphic violence and somewhat gory nature of the video, I would assume that we will be forced to edit 2 versions, one soft and one hard core version. Exactly how and where we’ll release them is yet to be decided though, but we will keep you posted about it of course. The video was shot for a track called ‘My Funeral’.

"Now you may wonder what the album will be called. Well, here is another ‘exclusive’ for you…. ‘Angelus Exuro pro Eternus’ !!!"

Chrome Division Parts Ways With Vocalist

Chrome Division has issued the following update about parting ways with their vocalist Eddie Guz:

"We thought it would be the right time for a little update from Hell, to all the Chromers out there. A lot of things are happening in the Chrome Camp these days, and not everything is ok for some...

"First and foremost, we’ve decided to part ways with Eddie Guz, the voice of Chrome since 2005. He’s out, due to lack of dedication and commitment to the band. Since the band is more active than ever, it would only slow down the tempo of achieving their future goals.

"This decision needed to be done for the benefit of Chrome Division. Eddie Guz will still remain a friend and a drinking buddy, but sometimes friendship and music don’t always blend easily together.

"But we ensure our fans that there is no need to worry. In February Shady Blue (Athera of Susperia) stepped in for Eddie on a gig in Germany, and the result was very pleasing for both the band and fans. So we are happy to announce that Shady Blue has now become a full worthy permanent singer in Chrome Division. More...

At What Cost Reforms

The original line up of Melbourne’s At What Cost reunited earlier this month and is preparing to rock again.

Established in 1999, the Grunge/Metal style they brought to the Australian rock scene saw them earn major appearances with acts like SUPERHIEST, FULL SCALE, DALLAS CRANE, THE CASSANOVAS, BLOODDUSTER and FRANKENBOK, also supporting Canadian punk rockers GOB when they toured Australia in 2003 with AVRIL LAVIGNE thanks to Frontier Touring Co.

"We are wrapped with the hype" said AWC frontman Daniel Spizzirri, "I’ve gotten heaps of sms’ and emails from people saying they wrapped to hear we are together again."

The band wants you to expect the groovey Godsmack/Alice In Chains sounds they had before, but now more refined and mature. "I really think this’ll be our best stuff yet," Spizzirri said in closing.

At What Cost is in the midst of revamping a few of thier old classics and writting new material and aims to be performing once again by November. New demos will be on the internet as soon as they are ready. In the meantime, you can check the band out on their MySpace page.

Rob Zombie To Remake "The Blob"

Shock rocker Rob Zombie has been tapped to remake the anticipated remake of the 1950s horror classic, "The Blob" which originally starred legendary actor Steve McQueen. Rob Zombie will also be writing and producing the film in addition to sitting behind the camera directing. Production for the movie will commence next Spring.

"My intention is not to have a big red blobby thing — that’s the first thing I want to change,” Zombie said. "That gigantic Jello-looking thing might have been scary to audiences in the 1950s, but people would laugh now.

"I’d been looking to break out of the horror genre, and this really is a science fiction movie about a thing from outer space,” Zombie said. “I intend to make it scary, and the great thing is I have the freedom once again to take it in any crazy direction I want to."

This will be the last part of their touring in support of their critically acclaimed 2007 album, "The Blackening." Joining them on the tour will be Hardcore Metal group Hatebreed, Bleeding Through and All Shall Perish.

Frontman Robb Flynn states: "After three years of touring we are beyond stoked to finish this tour cycle on our own terms, with our show, our stage, our production, our control, and we're lucky enough to bring three of our favorite bands along with us, it's going to be fucking massive!" Machine Head have also decided to do things a little differently for the fans this time around and will be playing two or more intimate shows in 3,000 - 4,000 seat venues instead of the massive arena shows fans have grown accustomed to.

Bassist Adam Duce adds, "Having done arenas now since The Black Crusade as well as the Metallica and Slipknot tours, we thought it would be killer to give the fans a chance to have a couple different setlists, and mix things up a bit. It's gonna be fun for us to see which gems we dig up!"

Forbidden Issues Tour Recap

Forbidden's Steve Smyth has issued the following recap of their recent tour dates:

"Well, just made it in the door a little bit ago from our 4 show run with Forbidden this past week. Exhausted, but really glad we were able to go up the Northwest and do this run! Great to see so many old friends, fans, and meet and make new ones as well! And WOW! Amazing response to Adapt or Die, our new song! 16,500 hits in 1 day?! You guys must really like this music we're at work on! THANK YOU for all of your kind words in messages here, and on email as well!!! Glad you like it!

"San Francisco on Saturday the 22nd was a blast- we had Kehoe Nation and Death Pilot join us on the show, and both were amazing bands, really strong and great music. Kehoe Nation has the AMAZING Gene Hoglan playing drums, always awesome to see him play, and Brian Kehoe (MIRV) shredding it up! Dude, you STILL scare me with those chops man!

"We had a great time playing the show! For myself, a little too good a time; I ended up in excruciating back and neck pain the next day, that didn't go away, from our day off on Sunday, until our next show.... OUCH! ha ha But hey, it's great to get back into 'show shape' after a few months out again. Great live response to Adapt or Die, the new Forbidden track we debuted live there that night! More...

Futures End Comments On Upcoming ProgPower Fest

Futures End has issued the following statement about gearing up for the ProgPower USA Festival, which will take place on September 11th and 12th in Atlanta:

"The band has been practicing every night in Jon Allens hot-ass little home studio and I cannot believe how tight we are getting so fast. I have to admit I had some concerns about playing in front of the entire prog-metal community at Progpower this year as our first gig. THose concerns have been laid to rest at this point. We are going to have a great time and play our asses off!

"Fred Marshall is not going to get a chance to come out and practice with us before the gig and that has caused some trepidation. However, Fred is a consumate professional and complete perfectionist and we all know he will again earn the MVP award for our show in Atlanta. He is missed here, during our sessions to be sure, but we all have complete faith that he will deliver as he always does.

"We are all VERY excited to see you all out there in Atlanta this year. There will be a signing session Friday, Sept. 11th at about 4:00. You can meet up with us at the Nightmare Records table where we will have CD's and T-shirts available. PLEASE come by and say hi! We want to meet as many of you as we can!"
