Switchblade Killers Changes Name

Eulogy Recordings newest signing Switchblade Killers have been forced to change the name of the band. The band has decided on their new name American Sixgun after being approached by a company that had already secured the name's trademark on media releases. American Sixgun singer Zach Neil issued the following statement about the name change:

"We weren't about to pay someone for a name that we, in all good faith, had come up with on our own. We're fortunate enough to have crossed this bridge before the release of our album on Eulogy. We've been blessed to make some wonderful fans and friends on this years Vans Warped Tour, and we know that this will be a minor issue for the band."

The album "The Devil In Your Bones" will be released this Fall on Eulogy Recordings. American Sixgun will be touring and supporting the East Coast and Mid-West this Fall and Winter including dates with Bayside, Sponge, Shooter Jennings and others.

Ravage Announces Tour Date Cancellations

Singer Al Firicano, of the thrash metal band, Ravage, has issued the following update regarding some tour date cancellations:

"Ravage has unfortunately been forced to cancel appearances at The KC Power Fest and the August 18th show at Volume 11 in Raleigh, NC (this show will still be taking place, but without Ravage). Due to issues with the Ravage mobile, we've been forced to wait for repairs to take place in Missouri, so we will be delayed significantly and will have to pick up the tour in Allentown PA on August 20th - that will be the next show. We'd like to sincerely apologize to the fans and promoters for this and we hope to add a Kansas City show and a Raleigh NC show back to the tour before it is all over. At Home In Hell Issues Show Recap

Montana metallers At Home In Hell have issued the following recap of their August 14th show to raise money for recording their upcoming album "In Home Hell:"

"Well... That was fun... Thank you to everyone who showed up and partied... We had a great night despite Blowing a breaker and losing more than half the lights... Thankfully Everyone was patient while we hooked up power to the stage and all was well!!! BIG THANKS to GRAFX Tattoo and MORGANROTH Music for the awsome Raffle Stuff...

"The first guy to win a $150 Tattoo was the guy who hired us to play his wedding in July (most hardcore wedding I've ever been to...EVER!!!) So that was pretty fuckin cool... And the second guy to win a $150 tattoo was our ex-Guitar player from Facless Remains so that was pretty fuckin cool too!!! The only thing that wasn't cool was all the death threats I got from everyone who didn't win the Tattoo's... LOOK GUYS... I'm SORRY...Maybe next time!!!

"The freshman B.C. Rich Bronze Warlock Guitar went to some fuckin kid who disappeared...Fucker!!! And The Nice Ass Big Daddy B.C. Rich Warlock (and B.C. Rich practice amp (courtesy of MorganRoth)) went to the guy I buy my midnight munchies from at the loaf and jug... And that is especially Fuckin cool considering the guy is a musician as well, So I know I'm never gonna see that guitar on display at first nation pawn... Because than I would have to kill someone!!! My guitar player was ready to kill someone... His plan was to mug whoever won 'his' guitar in the parking lot, but fortunately we kept him busy and the guy got away with his life and his nice ass guitar! More...

De Profundis Reveals New Album Details

De Profundis has issued the following update about finishing their new album "A Bleak Reflection" and streaming two new song samples online:

"Hails Metal Warriors,

"My long-winded blogs return, at last, after a prolonged absence. If the Devil finds work for idle hands, I want to know which bastard has been finding work for me and why there's been so much of it?!?

"Anyway, our second album is now well and truly finished. Produced by Fernando Pereira Lopes and ourselves it represents a significant moment for our musical evolution. We've all worked really hard and, in my humble opinion, achieved rather spectacular results.

"The 'record' button was first pressed on 5th June 2009, after which we've spent almost a whole month in various studios in and around London recording the album. Mixing then took place over two sessions at Russ Russell's Parlour Studios in July. The mixes where then mastered by Tim Turan. What seems like an eternal process has finally come to an end...? Opeth Issues Summer Breeze Recap

Opeth front man Mikael Akerfeldt has issued the following recap of their recent performance at the Summer Breeze Festival:

"Trainwreck!

"Yes, what that headline means is basically 'code' for fucking up during a show, which is what happened to us yesterday at the Summerbreeze festival. I guess we'll be able to laugh about this in a few years. Or maybe not. Horrible, and embarrassing it was I tell you.

"Everything was perfect, set for a fantastic show. We're headlining the whole event and right before we went on stage we're pumped. Really! Crowd was screaming, going crazy, and as the intro started running....yes, magic in the air!

"Walking on stage, I was blown away by the amount of people there. It looked as if the every people at the fest was there to see us. Amazing! Very powerful sight indeed.

"Then as we go into 'Heir apparent' I notice the following: 1: My stage sound is horrible, 2: Why can't I hear Fredrik and 3: What the fuck!? More...

Now that could be the motto for pokie giant Aristocrat after he allowed his image to be used to create a Rose Tattoo-themed machine.

The former wildman, famous for his all over tattoos, has become better known in recent times for his charitable works over the past 20 years than for fronting the famous rock band itself. More...

Exodus Guitarist Gary Holt Checks In

Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has checked in with some information regarding the bands next studio album and his recent guitar endorsement deal. The message reads as follows:

"Hey everyone, how's it going! Sorry about the lack of updates lately, but it is summer, after all!

"First off, I'd like to announce that after six years or so have parted ways with Bernie Rico Jr. guitars. Bernie has been awesome, and I have nothing but thanks for all he's done and they awesome guitars he has built for me for so long, but it was time to move in another direction. So with that, I am now pleased to announce that I have moved to Schecter guitars! They have been making some of the greatest guitars for as long as I can remember and I am stoked to be joining the family. The Hellraiser V I have is one of the best sounding and playing guitars I have ever owned, and we have been talking about doing something VERY sick! Can't get enough of playing this thing, and the best part is, unlike the Rico's they are affordable and within the reach of just about anyone. No bullshit though, this thing kills!

"And it's been getting a lot of playing time, since we are in full riff mode for the next record and making all the necessary plans to get the ball rolling. In between now and then, we have some more shows to play(Japan and South America with Kreator!) so keeping busy is the name of the game.

"Hitting the studio mid-November with Mr. Sneap! Will keep everyone posted!"

"After this, Michiel will start touring across the world with GOD DETHRONED until mid-November. So in the meantime, we will work on the recordings, and get this thing rolling again. Alice Cooper Show Cancelled In Tampere

YLE is reporting:

Veteran American singer ALICE COOPER's concert scheduled for Tampere in December has been shifted to Espoo because of concerns over his shock-rock image.

Tampere Arena, which was to have hosted the December 11 show, cancelled it because a perceived conflict with the venue's "Christian-based policies".

"The [Lutheran-based charismatic revivalist] group Nokia Mission and others use Tampere Arena for their events, so the venue's management did not want Alice Cooper appearing in the same hall. The contract which we received from Tampere Arena specifies that no artists may perform there who 'incite evil and the power of darkness'," promoter Kalle Keskinen told YLE. More...

Dark Funeral Posts New Album Update

Swedish black metal outfit Dark Funeral are currently in the studio recording their new album, which remains untitled at the moment. Guitarist Lord Ahriman has posted the following album update for the bands fans:

"It’s been a really tuff and hectic schedule for us during the past couple of weeks, but I shall not complain. It actually feels amazingly good to be super busy again with the band, and especially spending time in the studio recording a new album.

"On the weekends we have played festivals around Europe. It’s been a blast indeed! And on the weekdays we have, and are still, located at the Abyss Studio, recording what surly will become yet another masterpiece, no doubt!

"I must admit that while I/we have been writing for this album my personal impression has been that the material is somewhat slower, not as technical etc., compared to our previous albums. And I actually thought it would become like a 50/50 split with fast and non blastbeat songs. I couldn’t have been more wrong. More...
